My Pearl Of The Day -- Eve Organics

I'm not winking, silly. Look closer. I'm showing you my lovely, shimmery gold eyelid! Check the photo below to see a closer up image of the eyeshadow I'm about to tell you all about...

I know, my photos look strange and so do I, but that's not what we're looking at here. See the gold eyelid? Yes, only one was gold. I was testing out two different colors so that's why.

These are eyeshadows from Eve Organics, an amazing company with their customer's health and skincare in mind. I know, what a lame way to put it, huh? I'll put it in more specific terms, Eve Organics uses organic ingredients in their skincare and beauty products --without skimping on the quality of the actual product.

The gold eyeshadow you see in my photos -- I promise I worked very hard to get decent photos, my camera just isn't cooperative--is Eve Organics' 24 Karat Gold Shadow. I'd been looking for a good gold eyeshadow for months now with very little luck. I'd been stuck using this nasty smelling cream gold stuff that I bought from Avon over 6 years ago! Nasty huh? 6 years old. I was desperate Ok!

Huge, massive difference between that old stinky Avon gold and this lovely, fine powder Eve Organics gold.

A bit taken from Eve Organics' webpage:

" We invest our money into what goes into the bottle or jar – not the fancy bottle or jar itself.  So if our products don’t look like they were purchased in a jewelry store, it’s okay with us.  At Eve Organics, our products’ performance speaks for itself."

  Pretty fantastic, huh?

I really love being able to learn a lot about a company, their history and goals and companies like Eve Organics really strike my interest when they're so fabulous as to provide you with a lot of wonderful information. You know it interests me, so I will share, but if I bore you too much, you can skip down to the actual review.

What I learned while reading the provided information on Eve Organics

  •   Eve Organics' mission is to educate about the lack of regulations in the cosmetic industry. You guys have read a bit here about how harmful some of the ingredients are in cosmetics/skincare because there's really no limits when it comes to this area. You can look at your ingredient list on your makeup and find some very extreme ingredients that have been linked to serious, long term health issues. It's serious stuff and everybody should know about it. As I always say, knowledge IS power!
  •
  • Eve Organics vows to disclose information on all ingredients in their products.
  •
  • Eve Organics always avoids harfmul ingredients in their products. You won't find ingredients such as: dyes, lakes, synthetic fragrance, bismuth oxychloride, talc, parabens, sulfates, UREA, nano-particles and others.
  •
  • Eve Organics provides the public with some awesome informational article (each are a must read in my opinion!) at this easy to access link here.
  •
  •  Eve Organics goes even further than your typical organic cosmetic company by vowing to provide you with products that rejuvenate and repair skin while also protecting it from damages.
  •
  • Eve Organics vows to give back. Every quarter, they give 10% of its net profits to a different charity to help those in need! Now that's one thing that really drew me in! You can even nominate a charity for them to give to by sending them an email at: infoateveorganicsdotnet  Please remember to change the "at" with the symbol "@" and the word "dot" with the actual period. I done that when putting their email here to prevent spam. Stupid spammers!

Now, about the gold eyeshadow

The 24K Gold Eyeshadow comes in a little screw-on lid container. When you screw the lid off, the tiny holes that the powder comes out of is sealed with a plastic sticker. I simply used an X-acto knife and punched through the sticker. This seal is good. It keeps the product from spilling and being a total mess during shipping and ensures your product is good.

However, even after the little holes are punched, I have to give the container a little shake to get a good bit to come out. I like this because it means when it's been tossed in my cosmetic bag and I go to use it, the shadow won't all dump everywhere upon opening.

Looking very closely at the fine powder shadow, I see gold shimmer and what looks like a few tee-tiny green flecks. Maybe green undertones? It does have a green tint on my eyelids. Not that it shows up green, but the same way a lipstick will have that undertone or whatever. I like the green bit.

The powder goes on smoothly without the need of primer! And my absolute favorite thing about this eyeshadow is that it does not end up in your eyelid crease! I couldn't believe it. I wore it one day while being in the heat (always causes shadows to crease) and even had a black pencil eyeliner on my lid over the gold and by 10PM, there wasn't any creasing, slipping of the eyeshadow. Also, I've never used my black eyeliner without it ending up right under my brow from my eyes being opened, it kind of rubs off up there. I had the 24K Gold Eyeshadow filled in up to my brow bone and NO black eyeliner rub-off! I was in total shock.

It's so smooth and goes on lovely. I love shimmery shadows more than anything! Using this, you can do a very light, subtle color by swiping one coat on with a eyeshadow brush. Or you can go a bit bolder as I did by dipping the brush in water and then applying. This creates a very metallic, bold gold color, which is exactly what I have been looking for.

Now, let's take a look at the Caribbean eyeshadow. This color is a teal/green color. It's similar to the gorgeous Mermaid and Oasis shadows offered by Eve Organics. I love those colors! This one is darker and less blue than the Mermaid and Oasis looks. I like it and it looks lovely with my blue eyes.

I've used a similar color to this by another brand--also mineral and shimmer powder. The color is similar, but the other brand I had used before this Eve Organics Caribbean color, left flecks all over my face and smeared black! I could not wear it at all because no matter what I done (clean my face up after applying, use primer) I would find awful streaks all over my cheeks that looked black. Putting it on was the real disaster though! I'd have to seriously soap up my face after applying that stuff and that's even after I started using tape and post it's under my darn eye lids! Nothing helped that mess.

When I seen how bold this Caribbean color was, I was worrying about it streaking and making a mess too, but it actually went on very subtly, and any flecks I dropped onto my check would blend right in with my skin leaving nothing but shimmer behind. I prefer this over that other messy junk.

While I always go pretty bold with any eyeshadow I'm using, I really appreciate this Caribbean being subtle and requiring a damp brush to get it bold. It makes applying it so much easier.

                                                           GREEN

How do you like my two-tone eyelids? I swear I did NOT leave the house like that. Ha. Ha. This was done just for ya'll! Don't laugh.

As you see above, not only do the holes come sealed with a sticker, the entire containers come sealed.

Here you see a lighter version (the first one) of the green Caribbean shadow and beside it, a darker version where I used a damp brush. Then you see the light version of the gold and the dark, more metallic version.

Like the 24K Gold Eyeshadow, the Caribbean also is very shimmery, just how I like it!

And just when you thought I was done. Guess what? Not only is the Eve Organics Eyeshadows for eyeshadowing, they can also be turned into nail polish in just one minute! I done a tiny sample of polish here to show you. Lovely color, isn't it? I normally stick with neon pinks, greens and the like, but this gold looks awesome on my nails!

  How to do it?

All you need is the eyshadow of your choice and a clear nail polish. I used a top coat. Add a bit of shadow and continue doing so until you get your desired color. I like it bold, always, so I added quite a bit to get the super gold and the dark green. Add only a drop and you get a very shimmery, subtle golden tint. As for the green, it tends to look like a shimmery grey/silver/slightly charcoal, depending on how much is added.

Nutra-Lift's Flawless foundation

Forgive my bad photos, but this is the Flawless Foundation from the lovely Nutra-Lift! While there's a lot of special qualities about this foundation, what I love the most is that it's natural and organic! It certainly helps that it goes on like velvet. When I seen the name - Flawless Foundation - I didn't really expect to have flawless skin. However, Nutra-Lift hit it right on with the name! When I use this foundation, the word that pops into my mind is flawless! Let's take a look at the foundation...

These photos are just a little off and blurry, but you get a pretty good idea of what the actual foundation looks like out of the bottle. You can also see how very close it is to my actual skin color! I didn't see this in person, I chose the color from the list on Nutra-Lift's web page and look! It was the perfect shade! The Flawless Foundation is available in Warm Beige, Cream Mocha, Medium Tan, Natural Suede, Natural Nude,  Tawny Beige, Sunset Tan, Vanilla Beige, Brown. I believe my shade is Warm Beige. When you visit Nutra-Lift's webpage and go to the Natural Flawless section, (or just click here) you'll see the many different shades to choose from up close. Each foundation has a photo of the actual foundation out beside the bottle, making it easy to choose the right shade.

You may know this trick already or you may even use it daily, but if you happened to get the wrong shade of foundation or say you go to the tanning bed and suddenly your foundation doesn't fit your shade anymore, you can mix with other foundations to get your right color. It's actually much easier than it sounds. One trick I use nearly every time I use foundation is to mix it with my moisturizer and that creates a much better blend. However, with the Warm Beige Flawless Foundation, I don't even need to mix and match because it goes on and looks totally natural! Another awesome thing about it is that unlike most foundations, Nutra-Lift's seems to be a really amazing mix between heavy coverage and natural. You don't have to cake it on to get a better coverage. In fact, a small dab goes a long way!

I've used drugstore brands as we all have and was currently using something from Revlon that was a nightmare. I had ran out of my other foundation and had been mixing Revlon with my moisturizer as it seemed to dry my skin out. I was left with this awful greasy, shiny face! To fix that I had to add ANOTHER layer of make-up (powder to tone down the shine). I was really hating having to apply my makeup and usually that's something I enjoy doing, especially now!

Since I have such crazy skin, I have to be picky! It's dry as heck except on my forehead where it's shiny, but not exactly oily. Applying foundation of any sort would tend to show up every tee-tiny dry spot! I have struggled so much with foundation. I want it to look natural and still hide little spots and redness as well as give my pale, anemic color a darker glow. I was hesitant with Flawless Foundation, but knew it was going to be something I liked. I was just afraid it would show my dry spots that don't seem to be visible until the foundation goes on.

I swiped a small amount on my cheeks and liked it! I added more to the rest of my face and really felt perfect. It hides my large pores and truly gives a flawless look. If you've come to think of flawless as the Bare Minerals makeup that claims "flawless skin" you will be in for a surprise. Nutra-Lift has absolutely topped all of those (and yes, I have used them!). I even like it better than the Almay blending foundation that blends to the natural color of your skin!

Now, another thing (yes another one!) that makes Nutra-Lift's Flawless Foundation totally unique from the others is the matte, healthy looking finish it gives. No shine! You can also use a dab as concealer to totally cover any redness without worries. It stays on and covers so, so well. In other words, your zit won't be peeking through your foundation at the end of the day.

EXPERIENCE:
I have been using the Flawless Foundation daily for, I believe around 2 weeks? Here's my new routine...

- Shower using the Non-Soap Cleanser (also by Nutra-Lift. I call this cleanser my miracle!) Some days I'll use an exfoliator before showering.

- Apply the A Nano Renue lotion/serum with 24 KT gold in it (also a Nutra-Lift miracle!) I also use this during the night. It's a one of a kind.

- After A Nano Renue has absorbed, I do my eye makeup and then finish by squirting a drop of the Flawless Foundation on to my hand, then use my brush to pick some up and in circular motions, swirl the foundation all over the face. Quick. Simple and absolutely beautiful!

After that, I may add a little bronzer to my cheeks and I'm done! There's only been one time when I loved a skincare product so much that I began using the others available and it was Astara. I had used the exfoliator and that's actually what I was still using when I started with Nutra-Lift. I liked Astara's exfoliator so much that I used other products from them. One didn't end up staying on my regular use list, but I did like it. I was surprised that I took so well to each and every Nutra-Lift product. It has passed my tests. I usually continue a product I like for 2-4 weeks to see if it just stops giving me nice results and that normally happens with skincare, but Nutra-Lift has impressed me. I love them!

Specs on the Flawless Foundation:

  • The Flawless Foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle, very durable.
  • It has a squirt type pump making it easy to dispense without getting too much out and wasting.
  • SPF 18
  •  Product is very worth price!
  • Goes on well and does not cause fine lines to be more visible! It won't build up in your wrinkles or lines, but instead smooth them! Now, if you're looking to really, really smooth out those lines, I totally recommend using A Nano Renue as a moisturizer/cream and this as foundation. A miracle together, those 2!
  • 89% of ingredients are organic.

  • INGREDIENTS:
89% Certified Organic Ingredients: Aloe barbadensis (certified organic aloe) juice, simmondsia chinensis (certified organic jojoba), iron oxide, mica, titanium dioxide, natural emulsifying wax, natural mixed tocopherols (vitamin E), hyaluronic acid, vitamin C ester, alpha lipoic acid, zinc oxide, phenoxyethanol (organic derived compound), dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE), stearic acid, CoQ10, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam), daucus carota sativa (carrot extract), methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), konjac glucomannan (mannan), rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary extract), azadirachta indica (neem extract), tetrasodium edta, citric acid. Lovely Prism Pigments eyeshadow "Unicorn"

Hello my lovies,
I have one heck of an eye shadow to brag on here. I'll let the picture do the talking first...

The Unicorn eyeshadow is the purple one. First one from the left. Beautiful isn't it? The other colors are gorgeous as well! The white is the amazing, miracle working Rice Powder!

This is the Fortune Teller (The blue color)

The first picture  really captured the Unicorn eyeshadow from Prism Pigments better than my other pics. For some reason, my camera was not really capturing the color well at all. It's actually a very light, shimmer purple color called "Unicorn."

It's such a gorgeous eye shadow, I hate that it didn't show how bold it really is. In some light it does look silver as well and that's beautiful!

Like I said this eyeshadow is from Prism Pigments. They're shadows are so light. You can't feel them on your eye lids, even if you do cake it on. It's a wonderful color and product.

I loved the colors. I also have a yellow, and a few more that I'll show. I think so far, the Unicorn is my favorite.

I was really loving that the shimmer eye shadow didn't get all over my face. I have a huge problem with keeping it only on the lids. I guess the Prism Pigment shadows are so light and airy that they don't clump up and fall onto your face.

You can swipe a little across your lids for a light color or you can swipe a couple of times for more bold-ness. I'm more of a bold color kind of girl so I usually have to pack it on. With the Prism Pigments, no caking was necessary as it goes on very well!

These shadows are certainly unique and unlike any I've ever used. I loved how soft they were and I really loved the Rice Powder (I posted on previously.) That stuff is truly a miracle! It works great if you swipe across your lids before applying the Prism Pigment shadows and keeps it from running or creasing. Even without using the Rice Powder first, the eyeshadow didn't smudge, run, or all gather in the creases at all. I even kept it on over night and woke up the next morning with it still perfectly in place! These are most definitely a top choice for me now.

Overall, I'd give them a 10. No con's that I've picked up on. They're all so pretty.

Keep in mind that you can "custom order" from Prism Pigments and they regularly have great deals on the shadows. You can try a sample pack or choose from the 5. 0z jars and many more! They also carry blush and other cosmetics.

A Miessence PeArL

My Pearl of the day…

Miessence Lip Crème in Plum shade.

I have the lip creme on here! Pretty color huh?

I loved this simple little lip tint. It’s so beautiful! I normally don’t wear much lip color, but I’m a fan of Miessence’s Plum Lip Crème. It has a beautiful, but subtle tint of plum. It’s not the regular tinted chapstick, this stuff reminded me of powdered sugar when I swiped my finger across the Lip Crème.

When I put it on my lips it felt great & doesn’t smudge at all. It just gives your lips a healthy, subtle color & I honestly didn’t realize how dull mine were until I put the Lip Creme on!

In the photo, you can kind of see how the texture is on my finger. I loved that! It’s certainly unique. Unlike any lip colors, creams, or tints I’ve ever used. I’m really crazy about this stuff. I actually am wearing it now!

It doesn’t have a strong scent like lipsticks do and it didn’t leave my lips feeling dry. It also doesn’t seem to have a taste which is good because I tend to stay away from strong tasting lip stuff. This precious little pearl stays on well without the need to constantly re-apply. It leaves a really nice color lingering on your lips for quite a while.

Absolutely perfect! I love it. Couldn’t find a single con.

Prism Pigments - Rice powder for your face, works wonders!

Hello my gorgeous readers,

I'm back with the PeArL of the day...

The white is the Rice Powder

My PeArL of the day is the Rice Powder from Prism Pigments. The unique, super soft powder is for your face!

I just got to use it today and I was really stunned with the results! As directed, I swiped a small amount over my face before applying my make-up and after applying the make-up.

It immediately took away the shiny, greasy-ness from my face and left it with a slight glow. It also worked wonders for completing a finally flawless look and evening out the skin tone & the powder makeup I use. I didn't have to worry about un-even color which is so easy to show. This rice powder works like a primer, but better in my opinion.

I also found that when I swiped a little over my eye lids before applying my bright purple eyeshadow, it kept it in place, stopped the shadow from running and smearing & all settling in the crease of the eye lid.

It's perfect for setting your look day or night. Even when you're not using a foundation or brozer, you can swipe a little over your skin and have a beautiful, flawless face!

I totally loved this stuff! I also have a few of the Prism Pigment eye shadows that I'll be posting about soon. I haven't yet, because I wanted to provide photos of the shadow while it's actually on my eyes, rather than just the shadow in it's container. You can see the eyeshadows I'll review in the photo, but there's one more that isn't shown! It's a beauty too!

Do check the out here or http://www.prismpigments.bigcartel.com/

A photo post: Meal worms, designs, my jewelry pieces, my crazy cats, etc! I hope y'all like em'

Just a few different things here. These are photos (not very good ones) of the purple sparkle eye shadow that I made. It's kind of messy because I had laid in the tanning bed & it smeared, but I wanted to post the pic of the beautiful bright purple glitter! I love this stuff!

I've been trying to get a good photo of this polish forever! I finally got it to show up a little better on my phone camera. I made this one! It's a light but very bright purple with sparkles. Too bad you can't really see the sparkles.

Now this one's a little closer up. I took the picture while in the car because the sun helped it show up. Lol.

These are some of the latest acrylic nail sets that I designed. Love the silvers!

Yes, I realize this is kinda strange, but I couldn't resist! I get bored in the tanning bed so... I take pics! lol This is actually by belly button ring! Ha ha. It's so pretty though, I had to show it.

& You thought the last pic was strange! This is a bag of mealworms (for fishing) The reason why I was interested in them is because when I went to a day camp at our aquarium years ago, I ate meal worms! They were flavored & really good! I even brought some home & took them to school in my lunch box. They made my lunch box have a funky smell that never came out! Lol. How gross is that. They were crunchy too & I also had a chocolate covered grasshopper. I don't know how I ate that crap, but I was only in the 3rd grade. Anyways, after seeing these mealworms for the 1st time since camp I was really grossed out that I'd ever eaten the nasty things! EEW! These were the ones you can buy at Wal Mart though & I'm pretty sure they ARE NOT safe to eat!

These are my nails again. I was testing colors for a new design, that's why they don't match. Lol. The neon green is absolutely amazing!

Below are some of our recent acrylic nail designs. Let me know what   you think of them!

And these are my own toe nails in the tanning bed! Lol. Love the neon pink! That's my toe's favorite color!

And this is Patsie (above). She stuffed herself in a box! lol

& As some of you may remember me talking about her, this is the famous Fuzz! She's hilarious. Very chunky too.

This is one of the newest acrylic nail designs. These seemed to be very popular this week. There were over 12 sales! I love, love, love these!

                                            Another huge fav!

See the neon pink glass necklace? That's one of my own hand made jewelry pieces! It's my love.

This one is a little closer up on the necklace...

& The final up close & personal version! It's entirely made of glass except for the clasps & stringing. It's very bright! 2 of these sold this week! I was really happy with how these turned out. :) We have a vibrant turqoise glass one like this coming up too! I know I'll love it just as much. :)

Well, that's all the crazy, mixed up, funky pics  for now. Just thought I'd share a few cool thing with my my loves. Let me know what you thought of the designs & jewelry! Y'alls opinions are always very valued by me. :)

*You can view all of the acrylic nails & some of the jewelry pieces online at the new shop. If you'd like to let me know & I'll leave the link.*

So much love,
Kendra

My beautiful readers, this is my PeArL of the day, this one isn't as, should I say rough as my last one. This is the very lovely Therapist's Secret Facial Oil from The Sanctuary.

With it's mixture of pure oils such as sun flower, jojoba, and wheat germ oil, The Sanctuary has a beautiful product in this one. It's perfect for all skin types. I know you see "oil" and think uh-oh, break-out central! Not at all. The Therapist's secret oil is designed to provide plumping and rejuvenation. It's described by The Sanctuary as "skin's superfood." I can't say they're wrong about that one. It has worked some wonders on mine.

LET'S GET DOWN TO THE DETAILS:

The oil can be used day or night. When I first got it, my face was both tanning bed burned & wind chapped or burned whatever you want to call it. I'd spent a toasty 20 minutes in a new tanning bed the night before & several hours later that night in the blistering cold, at my nephews ball game. So my skin was at it's absolute worst. I also had a hefty monthy bump on my nose! It was one of those horrible hard ones that are tremendously painful.

I used the oil after showering that night & the unbelievable dry, burned and chapped skin was 100% cleared, the redness gone, & only 2 days later that awful bump had totally vanished! Those bumps usually last for around 2 weeks. It never even came up, it seems the oil totally got rid of it.

I've now been using the oil for a couple of weeks I'd say & I've noticed a pretty big difference in my skin. It is very plump & extremely glow-y. I haven't had to use as much make-up & it just looks great!

                               WHAT IT DOES:

- Gives me gorgeous, glow-y skin.

-Seems to have cleared & prevented ALL blemishes, acne, & breakouts of all sort. I've not had a single one.

-Hydrates like a miracle.

-Plumps skin all over.

-Reduces signs of aging.

On the packaging it says you can use the oil alone or with a moisturizer to get extra plumping and glowing effects. I did both. The first use, I used it alone. & Then I started using it mixed with my moisturizer from california body care & there was a huge difference. It looks beautiful!

The only CON about the Therapist's Secret Oil & it was that it did leave my face looking very shiny & oily. It didn't feel oily, but to the touch it did & it looked so shiny, but that's to be expected with any oil & just a tiny swipe of powder or any make-up, bronzer, etc takes care of it while your skin still reaps the benefits of the oil. You can also use on of those oil reducing sheets on your face to wipe away the shiny look while still getting the benefits of the oil.

Overall, I'd give it a 10. It's really a great facial oil. I've had much less trouble with my skin and a lot less work to do to it as well.

*Have you tried this one or any others from The Sanctuary? If so please do let me know what your thoughts are. I'm dying to try more of their products, but I'm a little stuck as to which I'd like best. Let me know you're fav's & be sure to check out the oil as well.*

FALSIES-SERIOUS LET DOWN!

First I will thank you my amazingly gorgeous readers for keeping up with me
& all of my ups and downs this week. I have posted a lot and randomly. I'm sorry yall, I just have to much to bring yall! This one, however is very important. I've resisted this post for 3 months now, but I feel it is my calling to warn you!

Do yall remember when I posted about the Falsies mascara? Well as most of you know, there's a new falsies which they cleary came up with too quickly & without thinking. It's the Falsies with black packaging rather than the purple & blue color.

Well, I was desperate & being the cheapie that I am, I wasn't about to pay for my regular mascara because it's just ridiculously high & seriously, mascara for $10 is totally unnecessary! It's just throwing your money away.

I'm telling you not to waste your money on the newer falsie's. I don't want you to come home with the disappointment I did. There's really no excuse for $6 mascara to be so bad! It was just an awful mess. There was nothing good about it. I even tried using my old brush that I love & even that didn't make it better.

It was poorly and cheaply made & I'm very dissapointed. If you only wear one very thin coat on your lashes, then you can use about any mascara & it be fine, but I use a little extra so messy, nasty mascara doesn't make me happy!

The only good thing about this crap is the pretty tube it comes in and as far as I'm concerned, a pretty tube ain't worth $6 damn dollars!

  Just a little heads up!

Maybelline's Falsies mascara

I thought I'd add a pic on this one. I know it's one terrible pic but I couldn't seem to get one that didn't make me & my eyes look really strange. lol So, this is my eye lashes with the falsie mascara on.  I've been using it for a while now and it's ok. My eyelashes are naturally super long so this mascara only added just a tiny extra to them. It's pretty good. I like it but, for someone with short eyelashes, I wouldn't recommend you buy this thinking it will really add much length because it doesn't. It works about the same as the colossal lashes.

The pros: Good price $6 at dollar store. Pretty container lol. It's just as good as the other cheap brands.

Cons: I didn't notice any difference in the length of my lashes. It seems to space them out and clump several lashes into one little twig lol. It's not too bad for someone who already has long lashes. But if you're looking to actually make them appear longer than they really are then, this won't do it.

I still have to say that my favorite mascara is maybellines Pulse Perfection but only because the brush works so good. The brush keeps them from clumping and it actually shows all of your lashes instead of clumping lashes into one twig. Ya get what I'm trying to explain? If you're big on mascara you know what I mean.

All in all, it's a decent mascara but doesn't really do what it claims. I love the pulse perfection mascara but it's way too pricey when you have to buy a new tube every 2 weeks. The only good thing about pulse perfection is the amazing brush. So, for now I will stick with the falsies mascara but only because of the cheap price.
