Review for Maybelline Plush Volume Express

Hello my little sexy kittens (or puppies, if you prefer), I am going to just share a brief bit of my opinion on this new drug store mascara -- Maybelline The Mega Plush Volume Express. If you're a regular mascara-wearer like me, you've probably used and/or been overwhelmed with Maybelline's constant out putting of these new mascaras that never seem to be improved.

Maybelline started this Volume Express line a long time ago. They use colorful, beautiful colored tubes to draw our attention and make it real hard to grab the cheaper, less pretty gray tube when you have all kinds of metallic purple and turquoise to choose from. Thing is, Maybelline seems to be focusing only on targeting their customers with pretty packaging, but not delivering a product worthy of the price tag.

You guys may recall my review long ago when the Maybelline Falsies first came out. I was not impressed, and I've yet to find many women who were. Yet again though, I was lured in by the pretty purple bottle! Damn them! Or damn myself for being that easy?

Anyways, most of us felt like Maybelline gave us the wrong impression with the Falsies mascara. It didn't do much more than your cheap mascara does, but the brush was easy to work with.

I personally like that vibrating mascara the most, but only because the forumla is really good and the brush gives awesome lashes. I like mine HUGE and seperated, and the vibrating kind did well, but was too expensive to keep buying.

Now I seen this tube of the new Maybelline Plush mascara and immediately kicked myself because I knew I was falling into the pretty color trap again. I did, and yes it is another trap, indeed. But I justified this decision while walking to the checkout line by telling myself 'well, it's entirely possible that Maybelline has actually succeeded on this Plush mascara.'

Damn them! Or damn me? Again!

I've no been fighting with using this blasted Plush mascara. "It'll give flexible lashes with no crunchy stiffness," they said. "it has a flexible brush that makes it oh, so much easier to apply," they said. "It'll rock your F'n world and you'll never want to use another mascara again," they said. Nevermind, they didn't say that part, but they damn well implied it!

Non-stiff lashes apparently means a funky formula that somehow ends up all over my face leaving little black flecks that are impossbile to get off! I've never encountered anything like this, and for the life of me, I don't know how it happens, but after applying the mascara, I notice this black substance randomly strewn about my eye lids and undereye area.

That is a pain! I don't know why the mascara does this, but it's more trouble than any, and I'll take stiff, crunchy Falsie's lashes any day over this.

A couple hours of wearing this and each day I see the black mess in my eyelid crease and then just a little under my eye where I guess the stuff seeps off or something? No idea.

Another complaint I have about it is it's really tough to wash off! You know most mascara, when you're applying and happened to jab yourself elsewhere like on the eyelid, you take a finger and quickly rub it off? Mine always rubs right off. This does not. It's evil. It stays and stays and at one point while scrubbing my poor eyelids with the third makeup remover I own, I could've sworn the black streak laughed at me.

And while we're talking about the complications of removing this disasterous mascara, I'm going to go ahead and tell you -- this is NOT waterproof! So unless you seriously don't want to remove the stuff, do not even get the waterproof because the non-waterproof is this hard to get off.

However, warm water and some type of makeup remover will remove enough of it off so that it's not terribly noticeable, but even when I've been sure I removed it all, I'll see this damn black substance forming in my crease all over again!

It seems to come off the eye lashes a little easier than the surrounding skin, but my lashes feel.. I don't know thick, greasy and stuck together? You know when you've not totally removed waterproof mascara and it leaves your lashes feeling that way? This does that.

About the promising brush -- it doesn't even flex unless you're being really hard on it, like using two hands to intentionally bend the wand! So that part was useless, and made the brush just the same as any other. Another claim that Maybelline stuck on the package so you think you're getting something "upgraded" from their last crap product.

Today is about 2 weeks I've been stuck using this. I went through my regular scrub-it-off ritual and went to apply my sparkles for eyeshadow. I'm seeing mini disco balls right now since I'm wearing sparkles on my eyelids, but they aren't happy. They're dark smokey tinted! Yes, that pissed me off because no matter what there's this dark colored residue that keep just reappearing out of nowhere. So my pretty holographic eyeshadow has a bit of a gray tint to it. Not a happy camper. This means it'll do the same to eyeshadow colors.

I was dumb to buy it because now there's no way my cheap ass will go out and buy a new, better mascara before I've totally used this one. I just can't do that. I'm cheap! And this is not, not in my opinion. It's $6 at Wal-Mart. Maybe, just maybe if your local Dollar store carries this kind, it may be sold there for $5 something, but if you're stuck on buying one of these Maybelline, pretty tubed mascaras, go with Falsies! It's better than this.

Also, there was a newer version of the blue and purple Falsies. It was purple, but had black text on the tube, and had a lace design on the package. Can't remember the name because with so many different "versions" of every mascara, it's hard to even tell em' apart at this point. But I hated the black Falsies version even more than the original Falsies, so if that's any indication, leave it and stick with the original Falsies.

Is it an absolutely terrible product? No, but almost. In all honesty, the trouble is just too much for someone who wears mascara (and a lot of it) daily. It's not as convenient as others out there since it turns your lids messy and black. It doesn't come off as easily. So unless you use only a few quick strokes of mascara, this won't be your BFF. However, if you do only use a few quick brush strokes, you're better off going with a cheap product anyway as this isn't going to do anything more for you.

So, ladies, gentlemen, gentlefish? What is your experience with this stuff? Any different from mine? Did you have plush, plump and eye-batting worthy lashes when using this? Or was it an epic fail for you too?

Share with me. Did anyone else notice this weird black substance keep reapearring? Somebody, please, please save my pretty eyelids! :)

Sexy Malibu Strings bikini

                                                           MALIBU STRINGS
                                       "For the uninhibited"

These are some photos of the Malibu Strings red and black transparent bikini. First, please forgive my horrible photo taking and placement. I've had so many issues with blogger and uploading photos that I've had to learn how to go HTML style! That is why they are placed strange. Now, my excuse for the not-so-great photos is that my camera was not being cooperative with me as it was hard to capture the unique colors of the bikini. I think I've gotten it across though. It's black transparent with red shimmer. The photos above are of the bikini top.

As you can see, the photo on the left is the full bikini top. It's a triangle string-bikini style top. Very pretty and very revealing. For my size, the top didn't leave too much hanging out of the sides so it was a really great fit, but this is a bikini that you can see through. For those of us who don't wear this type of thing in public, it makes a really sexy bed-room piece! In fact, that's what I like about it. It's unique and you can't deny, it is sexy!

My partner said he couldn't see through the bikini while I was wearing it, but when I looked in the mirror where the light is most harsh, I could see through it. In the sun light, you're able to see everything, but in the shade it leaves a little (and I mean little!) to the imagination.

I get that some don't want to show that much nipple in public, I wouldn't wear it in public, but it's great for the pool at home and sun bathing... as long as the kids aren't home! Lol. I had a pretty neat idea for wearing this in public without seeing through it. There is a solution because let's face it, this baby is too cute to not wear out. While the solution won't keep the bikini bottoms from revealling your entire cheeks, it will work for the top and you can always pair this with a solid black bikini bottom for a less revealling suit.

For a simple fix:
With just a small piece of black spandex fabric (or red if you choose) you can trace the triangle onto the black spandex making sure it is a bit bigger. Then sew the solid black fabric to the inside of the triangle top. Cut off excess edges of fabric then you have a non-see through, but still sexy swim top!
What I like about this easy fix is that you can easily take a pair of scissors or a seam ripper and carefully 'un-stitch' the solid black fabric from the triangles to turn it back into it's original transparent bikini top. If you're careful with the scissors they will work without leaving any damage to the suit. Or you could always wear band-aids over your nipples! LOL. Kidding, but a pair of cute pasties (I used silver butterflies) over your nipples looks really cute with the swim suit!

The triangles are like most string bikinis, adjustable. You can slide them wide for more coverage or slide them together for a narrow coverage. This will cover only the nipples.

As for what material this suit is made of, I am unsure, but I can say it's very good quality and holds up wonderfully. It's very soft and comfortable to wear. There's not irritating strings that dig in and the fabric feels nice on the skin. To be on the safe side, I hand wash it. The strings are sturdy and reliable. They're silky and smooth.

The swim suit ties halter-style around the neck and around the back allowing you to adjust to your perfect fit. There are 2 small gold circular accents that attach the top point of both triangles to the strings. These are comfortable, I couldn't feel them, but they add an extra touch of pretty and sophistication to the suit.

The photo above is of the bottom part of the bikini. It matches the top and is a thong. I think they're very sexy and unique and they double as an awesome pair of panties! Most swim suits won't wear well for panties, but these actually look more like panties than a swim suit so if you do choose to pair the top with a solid black bottom rather than thong, then these won't be totally useless, just throw em' in your underwear drawer. I love the comfort of Malibu String's Bikinis. They're some of the cutest, most unique suits I've ever saw and I LOVE them. Love is an understatement!

The sparkly red color really makes the suit here. It's unique, sparkly and hot! What could be better?

The bottoms have a tiny little tag on the inside and out. I didn't even cut mine out because they're barely noticable. The inside tag doesn't show while wearing. It says "M" for medium size. The outside tag says "MS" for the lovely Malibu Strings. I like that little tag.

Like the top, the thong bottom also has 4 pretty circular gold accents on the hip area of the strings and two on the back on each side of triagnle thong. Veyr pretty and an extremely well fitting suit! I was surprised that it fit my strangely built body so well. Usually thongs, unless they're specifically made for short crotched people, are saggy and that's not pretty. These fit wonderfully and looked great. On certain days, I'm not always comfortable in such revealing things, but this is a swim suit that I feel good in all the time. I love how the strings don't dig in causing irritation and rolls. Lol. It's a smooth, pretty fit.

While I won't wear this in public, I will wear it with my simple fix and a pair of solid, full coverage bottoms. At home, I'm comfortable wearing it without the extra fixes. It's just too cute not to!

Like this swim suit? Then don't forget to look for my up coming reviews on the other suits! There's one that is exactly the swim suit I've wanted and looked for for several years! Yes, I'm super excited over these swim suits! I couldn't have found a better fit for my personality! Now, while you're anxiously awaiting to read about my next few (mind blowingly gorgeous) swim suits, go check Malibu Strings out! They do sale swimwear with more coverage. They have thongs and other styles available as well as full (or nearly full) coverage!

Seven Til Midnight corset in red

RED SEVEN TIL' MIDNIGHT CORSET

Note: The Seven Til Midnight Corset does not come with skirt included. The skirt was my own and I paired it with the corset. It does go perfectly together though. This corset is the most comfortable one I own & it's flexible with a good bit of stretch. It's so far the easiest to slip in and out of and does much better for a night out than most.
The silky red material is beautiful while the feminie silk bows and ruffles add a lot of sexy!

Here, in the picture above, you can see the entire front of the corset. It has two strips of ruffly lace with bows at the bust and 2 rows to line the bottom, front to back. The bottom also has silky bows, one on either side. Looks very sleek and pretty!

You can't see the design on the corset in the photo, but it does have a pretty light little design on it in red.

I loved wearing it with the tulle skirt. It matched perfectly.

The comfort in this corset is outstanding. You can wear it out with a skirt or a pair of blue jeans and be absolutely comfortable. I like how easy it is unlike most that require wire pliers and a room full of people trying to get you in and out of the thing.

The back of the corset does not lace up. Instead, you have 3 rows of eye hooks to choose from. Use the last row for a smaller size and to expand/loosen, the 2nd or first row provides room. I hook with the last row so it doesn't slid off and even then it's still roomy enough to move around. I do like the sizing. It's hard to find lingerie that isn't a child's small, I'm glad this corset from Carrie Amber was truly made for a woman, not child. Mine is a small, but it would comfortably fit a medium as well.

   MATERIAL

I love the material of this corset. It's like silk, but even softer. The inside is smooth and soft too. The tag says 90% nylon & 10% spandex. It's very light weight.

The bones are very flexible and are not made of plastic so you don't have to worry about bending over and snapping one in half. They are thick and sturdy, but not hard.

I was pleased with the simplicity and the casual-ness of this corset. It's one that I will be able to wear out in public (at the right places of course) and still be able to breathe and move. It's perfect for someone who wants to add a really sexy, but conservative look when paired with jeans. It's not revealing, I really like that about the corset.

I can tell it's very well made and doesn't have that cheap look or feel. I would absolutely recommend the red Seven Til Midnight corset to anybody, especially someone who's not sure if they will like the discomfort that often comes with most corsets. This one holds up well and can be worn for long periods of time. It's great for those who are interested in trying corsets but are shy or intimidated by the tightness of them. It's a great first corset and seems to be one that will last for years to come.

  CARE & MAINTENANCE

The corset should be hand washed with cold water and of course should never be bleached or ironed. To best care for this corset, you should line dry it. I would not recommend putting it in the dryer. I can't say exactly what would happen, but I wouldn't even risk it.

It sounds like a lot of work, but really it's less trouble than most everyday clothing items. I just hand wash it which doesn't take long. Then I hang it up on the back of my bed room door or lamp post to dry. It dries quickly since it's not heavy.

Overall, my opinion on the red corset here, is a very nice one! I think it's a pretty piece. The comfortability is something I am beyond grateful for with. Seven Til Midnight is my favorite lingerie brand. They have so many different things that really suit my style and I love their products. I doubt I'd be disappointed with their items. They are certainly unique and all of the Seven Til Midnight lingerie items stand out from other brands. I'm sure you'll feel the same way! DO check them out. Also, I'd like to add that from what I've seen, they don't discriminate against the average sized woman! YAY! They DO make sizes that fit real women and not just size zeros. That's something I highly admire in a lingerie company.

SkinBright Review

My PeArL of the day Skinbright

I know some of you have heard of Skinbright products. I’ve been eyeing them for so long & finally got the chance to try it! I couldn’t resist adding it to my “PeArL of the day.”

                              ABOUT THE PRODUCT
The skin brightener by Skinbright is like an all in one product for both men & women. It’s great for areas of concern like discoloration, freckles, melasma, and spots and from what I understand it will vanish birth marks too. I have a strawberry birth mark above my lip. It was the color of blood and a little smaller than a quarter for most of my life, but I chose to keep it. I didn't use the skin brightener to fade it.

                                      MY RESULTS
Most of us have spots and discoloration and some aren’t comfortable with it. For instance, I’m a regular tanner & I get discoloration and spots. I have this huge area around my mouth that is more than slightly darker than the rest of my skin & it bothers me & I feel like it looks dirty.

I've noticed a drastic change in that area as well as another sensitive area that I've recieved amazing results! I've nearly had my freckles on my chest completely vanish as well.

I have a medium skin color and it did take a while before I noticed results, but that's to be expected with any skin brightening product.

I’ve been using skin brightener from http://www.skinbright.com to help the areas that I don’t like. So far, I'm very happy with the results.
My skin’s only 21 years old so I thought I’d give you the results of my mother’s as well. She had slight age spots, maybe 4 small ones & they’re all gone. I noticed a major difference in her skin almost immediately!I can’t even notice the discoloration & almost all of the spots have vanished! My mother has also been using it & reporting back with her results. Her skin looks amazing!

PROS:

1. Quickly gets rid of all discoloration, age spots, sun damage completely.

2. Works on even the most complicated and dark types of skin.

3. Leaves a really nice glow.

4. Reduces age spots.
5. I thought it seemed to help with acne spots too. I have a few dark blemishes that were cleared up with skinbright.

6. Treats freckles and scars.

7. I didn’t have any irritation or dryness.

8. Didn’t leave greasy residue behind and isn't uncomfortable on even the most sensitive areas, believe me!

9. Not tested on animals.

CONS

I haven’t experienced any cons with this product although on areas that are very sensitive, I did experience a little bit of a tingly like sensation, but nothing uncomfortable & it only lasts for a few seconds.

*Note: This product was recieved with no charge, just a review. You can find my honesty pledge at top of page.*

Much love my sweetie pies,

Kendra

FALSIES-SERIOUS LET DOWN!

First I will thank you my amazingly gorgeous readers for keeping up with me
& all of my ups and downs this week. I have posted a lot and randomly. I'm sorry yall, I just have to much to bring yall! This one, however is very important. I've resisted this post for 3 months now, but I feel it is my calling to warn you!

Do yall remember when I posted about the Falsies mascara? Well as most of you know, there's a new falsies which they cleary came up with too quickly & without thinking. It's the Falsies with black packaging rather than the purple & blue color.

Well, I was desperate & being the cheapie that I am, I wasn't about to pay for my regular mascara because it's just ridiculously high & seriously, mascara for $10 is totally unnecessary! It's just throwing your money away.

I'm telling you not to waste your money on the newer falsie's. I don't want you to come home with the disappointment I did. There's really no excuse for $6 mascara to be so bad! It was just an awful mess. There was nothing good about it. I even tried using my old brush that I love & even that didn't make it better.

It was poorly and cheaply made & I'm very dissapointed. If you only wear one very thin coat on your lashes, then you can use about any mascara & it be fine, but I use a little extra so messy, nasty mascara doesn't make me happy!

The only good thing about this crap is the pretty tube it comes in and as far as I'm concerned, a pretty tube ain't worth $6 damn dollars!

  Just a little heads up!
