Common questions about being a twin

Being a twin, my sister and I always get asked a million questions. Even people who have known us for years still ask us questions. The most common responses when people learn we're twins are "No, you are not. You can't be twins because you don't look alike." First I'm dying to point out, that is wrong. We do not look alike because we are fraternal twins, not identical. That almost always follows with "Well, what's your birthday and what is your sister's?" Well, we ARE twins so our birthdays are both on the same day (although twins can be born on different days say if one's born before midnight, but that's a different story.) I guess people think they will catch us in a lie when they ask the birthday question. Twins can actually be, believe it or not, polar opposites. Proof in our case.

Here are a few common questions I'll answer for those of you who are interested:

Do twins have the same style?
No. Not necessarily. While some twins may choose to dress alike, it's not always the case. My sister and I have never had similar styles. I should also state that in my opinion the style a set of twins develops can have a lot to do with how the parents chose to dress them. My mother never made us dress exactly alike. While we had similar interests like at 4 years old we both loved the lion king and both wore the lion king outfits, that was about the only things we done the same. Even our Lion King outfits were different. My point is, just because you're a twin does not mean you'll both have the same likes and dislikes.

While my style is a little flashy and I tend to express myself by dressing boldly and unique, my sister is the opposite. She wouldn't be caught dead in a sparkly pink dress. She's very particular and prefers to dress in jeans and some sort of shirt, rarely does she choose bold clothing. It works for her. Me on the other hand, I'd feel like I was suffocating if I never wore my bright colorful things.

Are twins born with the same feature such as hair and eye color?
Yes & No. If the twins are identical they will have the same hair and eye color and usually look, well, identical! Not all fraternal twins look alike, in fact some don't even look related. My sister and I usually get that we look nothing alike and rarely hear that we look alike. She was born with no hair and blue eyes while I was born with a lot of brunette hair and blue eyes. Her hair turned out blonde like my mother's while mine's always been brunette like my father's. As she got older her blonde got darker is more of a darker blonde. We have a similar build though. We're both the same height: short as hell and have some similar features, not many.

Is it true that one or both twins will struggle with jealousy?
No. Absolutely not. It can happen, but I've never known of a set of twins who've ever been jealous of the other. It actually seems to be more common with siblings of different ages more than with twins. My sister and I can't even recall a time of jealousy. But then again, we never felt we had to fight for independance. We've always had our very own sense of style and our very own personality and have never collided there. I admire her and think she's beautiful and her talents, gifts, personality and traits are fantastic, I have my own that are totally opposite mostly and while I admire her and what she has, my personality is totally different. She feels the same. We haven't ever had to worry with jealousy. We've always been so different and that's one reason. Our needs and wants are different it evens out.

Will twins have the same passions and end up with identical or similar career paths?
Another not neccesarily. Our talents are somewhat similar, but not much. Some twins do enjoy the same things and share passions, but we're opposite on this one too. However, my older sister and I do share quite a bit of likes and dislikes. As far as my twin and I, are talents and such are very different. She's creative and can draw better than anything I've ever seen, her handwriting also is beautiful. Me, I'm creative and I'm a writer, but the only thing I can draw is stick people. My handwriting is awful no matter how hard I try. I developed my passion for writing very young and she developed her one-of-a-kind creativity with many things like drawing very young. She's great with math and problem solving. Me, I can add & subtract, sometimes multiply, but that's about as far as it goes. I'm good with english and everything about it. I love to read (that's one thing my older sister and I share that my twin and I don't.) and my twin does not enjoy it so much.

I'm interested in things like psychology, learning anything and everything I can, helping people and I must admit I'm a bit of an activist and I stay involved. My twin doesn't enjoy or share my interests there at all.

I'm going to school for writing and hypnotherapy, she's interested in none of that. She's more of pro in kickin' somebody's ass. Lol.

Now there is one thing we both are gifted with, nail design. We both are highly knowledgable and serious about our nails. I work in nail design and she's creative enough to build a nail with her own hands. We're both very alike in that area. She can design the heck out of a finger or toe nail. Our style may look totally opposite, but our nails are almost always the same color, neon pink. Although today we just so happened to both be wearing purple on our fingers and the neon pink on the toes. Strange, but her's was a darker shade. Still, twins do have a strange connection whether they're with each other daily or not.

Do twins have the same friends and enemies?
Most often they don't. People don't always understand that twins truly are two different people. My sister & I haven't ever really shared the same friends. We have a friend we grew up with and still live near & speak to, but she wasn't as friendly as I am. Lol. She didn't feel she needed friends the way I did. I like having girlfrieds and chatting and doing all those things girl's do and she never really needed that sort of thing. Her friends are mostly men. We have always said she has a male's sense of humor so maybe that's why she connects better with men than women.

Now as for enemies, anyone who's done her in a bad way I am not fond of and make no effort to befriend them. I just don't do that with either of my sisters. My older sister is similar to me in this way, but my twin does not always feel the same. She doesn't mind being friends with someone who's wronged a sister which is fine, but we don't share that feeling.

We're very different. I'd say I'm more sensitive of a person than she is. We are both shy in some ways, but I'm more likely to be the shoulder to cry on, the dependable person who's thinking of the way to make things better for everyone. I've always been that person. I'm very empathetic and a lot of time I let it get out of control. Now she is the last person you can expect to feel sorry for you. Lol. She says "Suck it up. Stop slinging snot." (She cackled when I told her I quoted her here.) Lol & I'm like "aww! You poor thing! I am so sorry. Let me take care of it for you." Lol.

Also, she's far more confrontational than I am. I don't deal well with confrontation unless it's absolutely neccessary. She on the other hand will be quick to kick you ass with a cheshire cat smile grin across her face the entire time. With that said, she's also strong like a man. She's small and you'd never believe she could do damage, but she's a hard one to handle. She doesn't allow herself to be ran over the way I sometimes do.

MYTHICAL APPAREL

The Enchantress Burn-out tee! Love this baby!

Have any of you lovies heard of or shopped from Mythical Apparel?

In the photo, I'm wearing Mythical Apparel's lovely and very unique Enchantress Burn-out tee. I think it's just stunning! The top is very flattering for any body type. It's a white burn-out tee so you can see through it (hint: the neon pink bra! Lol) I thought about putting a cami underneath it, but I thought hey, why not be different! lol Plus, the neon pink bra looked nice with Enchantress going down the side in purple.

I just love this shirt and can't seem to take it off! It's definitely gotten a lot of wear! Hay, don't judge. There ain't nothin' wrong with a little extra wear, especially if you really love it!

It went perfectly with my super bold purple eyeshadow. I couldn't resist. I get an itch to wear my purple eyeshadow very often, but I rarely have anything it would look nice with so the Enchantress Burn Out tee is always my first pick when it's clean... or not so clean! Ha. Ha.

I love how unique the shirt is. It's not something you see often. It's got what seems to be the paisley-looking design throughout it. I got a lot of compliments wearing this shirt!
And guys, before you decide to stop reading I will go ahead and say, Mythical Apparel DOES have a men's section too! So, if you are going to stop reading, make sure you're headed on over to check them out.
The word Enchantress is spelled out beautifully down the side of the shirt. It's very lovely. Something about it stands out from my regular shirts. The purple "Enchantress" is much bolder in color than it shows in the photo. *In the picture above was my first day of hamster sitting, hence the cage I'm in front of. I fell in love twice that day.  With the cute shirt and with hammy! My sister ended up giving him to me after a month of sitting! Yay! A cute top and a hamster! That'll make a girl's day! lol

You can also find the Enchantress top in black or with white text instead of purple.

It's a very comfortable top, not one that I have to pull and tug at. The V-neck is flattering and the material of the shirt is light weight. While it's fitted, it's not the type of shirt that glues to your curves.

Mythical Apparel has the yoga pants to match the top as well! They're a nice stretchy material that you can wear with the top or without it. They're perfect for exercise, but also look nice for other wear besides athletic.

Like I said, this shirt has already gotten quite a bit of wear out of it, and so far it's held up extremely well especially considering it's very thin. I don't see it falling apart or mysteriously getting holes all in it like some major T-shirt companies. I'm very satisfied with the quality, look and feel! I was pretty surprised that it's showing great signs of holding up, most shirts that are even slightly thin have very little wear. This one's a definite keeper! I really love the look of Mythical Apparel's clothing and would recommend it to all of my family and friends (I already have! lol)
& Here's a little hammy love! Cute huh?

My "experience" Continued...

                                      *MY "EXPERIENCE" CONTINUED...*
(This is only the second part for now)

5 years ago, my closest friend and I made plans to spend the weekend at her house and invite our high school boyfriends over. She picked me up that night but we didn't go to her house. Instead, she took me to a party which was all men. All 8-10 years older than us. I knew none of them. When we pulled up I wouldn't go in because I didn't know anyone and that wasn't our plan. She promised she wouldn't leave me by myself so I agreed to go in.

Shortly after that, I was drugged with rohypnol (date rape drug) by a man who was 26. I was 15. He was huge. Weight: 245 lbs. Height: about 5'9 Ok, that's huge to me, I'm 97 lbs. and only 5'1.

I knew something was seriously wrong with me. I was violently sick and could feel myself kind of fading out. You know? Like I was going into a coma, honestly, that's what I thought. A while later, I was sure I was dying. It was like I was paralyzed, completely unable to move any part of my body, barely able to speak, unaware of where I was or how I got there. I'm only able to recall parts of that night (with a long and painful process I was able to recall parts of the night, with help & time) The last thing I was able to recall, after going inside, was being in his car. Locked in his car and him threatening me. I begged to get out but it wasn't happening. I said I was going to puke so, he got out, came to my door, picked me up and held me at his chest then, dropped me on the ground. I could actually feel my ribs crushing.

There, I laid, unable to move. The only thing I could do was puke and beg him to call and ambulance or at the least my mother. I remember saying "If you won't let me call my moma and say I love her then, leave me here to die." I knew I was dying. I had no option but to lay on the ground and pray. And I did!

I know a lot of time passed between that moment and me coming back to, to find myself in a bed but, I'm still unsure how long I was unconscious. The next thing I was able to remember was returning to consciousness enough to feel excruciating pain and know what was going on. He was on top of me, all 245 pounds digging into my ribs. I was too weak to tighten my stomach. As soon as I realized what he was doing with me I managed to scream, using my every strength I yelled for my "friend."

She came. She stood right in the door way. And watched. Watched him biting my chest, stomach, bottom lip, and other parts of me with his teeth. He had bitten me over 11 times. Each one bled and bruised. My shirt, skirt, and underwear were ruined, stained with blood. The inside of my shirt had thick pieces of MY skin & blood stuck to it.

I still remember every piece of clothing I had on. I even remember the underwear. I had my current boyfriend burn all of the things I was wearing. I still have scars on my chest and stomach from those bites. When I realized my "friend" wasn't coming to help, but to watch. I knew I had to muster up some strength to fight alone. I did but didn't get far. I was only able to squirm. That was the longest moment of my life and by far the worst.

When HE was done, he left the room. I tried moving myself but couldn't move. After trying and trying I stood from the bed. With the help of the walls, I stumbled out and made it to the front door. He was standing there, in nothing but his underwear. He threatened my life, my familie's lives, and gave me a detailed description of our where abouts and what he'd do if I told. He let me leave but only if my "friend" drove me straight home. I wasn't allowed to leave alone. She drove me home.

I couldn't even walk myself to my front door. Thankfully, a guy that I was really close with at the time was on the porch waiting for me & he helped me inside. My neck & chest was showing & had blood, bruises & some black shi* all over me. He freaked and asked 100 questions. I cried. Then I told him everything.

After that I knew something was really wrong with my ribs because of the excruciating pain so before burning my clothing and showering I had to have "that shi*" done. Come to find out, my ribs were severely bruised, a few other injuries and of course the open wounds from the bites. Then, I was free to go home & stay in bed until the injuries healed. I wasn't able to take a breath with out shrieking for 3 whole days. I slept every bit of those 3 days away except for waking up to shower, use the bathroom, and take meds. I couldn't even smoke a cigarrette for 3 days because of the pain. I was still really high from the rohypnol until the 4th day.

This past August, the 15th to be exact made it 5 years since it happened. I talked to my "friend" that day. Which was only 2 months ago. She contacted me on Facebook. I guess she felt guilty & needed to relieve her guilt. No apology though. I said little, that was it.

Anyways, he's free now. He's free to roam the streets and live only 10 min. away from me and free to hurt more women. When it was all over with & I went to the authorities, I found out that he had done the same thing to at least 2 other women.

For the past 5 years, I have lived in fear of him. I have seen him 6 times out in public. Every time, I've had a panic attack. The very 1st time I seen him out, I was with my current boyfriend & he confronted him. Actually he beat the hell out of him. Needless to say that rapist didn't fight back. After all, a rapist like that only wants to fight a woman that's much weaker than him. He would never fight a real man.

After seeing him on the road next to mine one day while I was in my car, I freaked and have only drove alone in my car 3 times since. I have never spoken to my "friend" who after speaking with authorities and going through the whole process, I found that she was not a friend at all. She was an accomplice. An accomplice to MY being raped. She set me up.

*There's more. Yes, more of this story. I will post the next part this week*

As long as they know the trick, with the shortfall, and highlight the advantages of body shapes. Try to use layered clothing, but not more than three layers. If you want to look taller, better use of vertical rather than horizontal-striped dress that will make your body width impression. Choose clothing that accentuated the basic silhouette with good but not too tight. Select a top that accentuated the waist line, match the belt, jacket or cardigan. Colors selection is also need to note. Select a top layer of dark-colored base, combine with a cardigan or jacket with bright color.

For Big women, clothing materials are also should be given attention. Choose clothing made from finely materials, this is very important because if you use thicker materials will make the body more looks large. To get an impression more slender, choose clothing that intersect V at the neck. Neck that are exposed will show the impression of a long and slender body. If you are wearing blazers or cardigans, let the button of them stay open in order to imposing a vertical line. For accessories, you can wear earrings or necklaces that hung down long. If you want to disguise the stomach, do not use tight clothes and too big.

Then match with simple trousers. Can use skinny jeans, boot-cut or leggings. A good trick to elongate your legs is to wear straight pants that cover your shoes. This will make your legs look longer a few centimeters. read more: http://wparticle.net/clothing-big-women.html
