Tend Skin for ingrown hairs, bumps and more

A few weeks ago, when I discovered a 3+ inch ingrown hair from my... ahem, bikini area, I decided it was high time I found something to help with my terrible case of ingrown hairs. I use an epilator as my down-stairs hair removal method (a razor everywhere else), so obviously, my ingrown hairs are a problem. Epilating and waxing seem to cause more ingrowns than anything.

To remove the huge ingrown hair, I actually had to lance open the skin (just a tiny bit) and work to remove it. Afterward, I was so stunned at the length that I kept the hair in a baggy and showed it to my sister and partner, claiming that I must have broken some kind of world record here.  Never could figure out what the actual record for longest ingrown hair was, but I still have that hair! Ha Ha. I would post a photo, but I didn't want to gross some of you out.

Anyways, so my journey to help my serious ingrown problem led me to Tend Skin and I got my hands on a few sample bottles and here we are. I'm going to share everything with you guys.

The Tend Skin sample bottles come with .25 fl oz.  each

Directions for use: Apply at night and again after shaving until appearance improves. Do a test patch 1 hour on first use. Be sure to change razor blades after 2-3 shaves.
Cologne/moisturizer can be applied over Tend Skin, once it has dried.

The instructions, expiry date and other information is on the label of Tend Skin.
It says Made in USA. The Tend Skin Company.

Warning: Flammable. Keep away from children and do not ingest. Do not use if allergic to aspirin. Avoid eye contact. Also, don't use Tend Skin within one week of having a medical/salon strength exfoliant treatment (AHA's, glycolic and Accutane), any other prescribed topical treatments or depilatories unless otherwise advised by your dr. The combination of agents can lead to chemical burning of the skin or skin discoloration.

Tend Skin is a clear liquid just like rubbing alcohol. I apply it by placing my finger over the hole on the bottle and dabbing it onto my skin. I considered using a cotton ball at one point, but it would just absorb the liquid instead, so you’re better to apply directly, using fingers. Since it’s so runny, it’s easy to apply and Tend Skin dries very quickly on the skin, so there’s no waiting before dressing or getting in bed.

Tend Skin is very easy to use and takes less time and effort to apply than using a moisturizer.

Here you can see that theTend Skin product is a clear liquid (through the bottle)

Tend Skin is also available in a roll-on applicator.

What Tend Skin Does:
“Tend Skin – The Skincare Solution for “unsightly” razor bumps, ingrown hairs and razor burn for men and women.”

Those are the best things about Tend Skin – it’s effective for both men and women and works to take care of razor burn, bumps and ingrowns.

A lot of times, when you have one of those problems (razor burn, ingrowns or bumps) you tend to have all of them. I personally don’t have such big troubles with razor burn or bumps as I do ingrowns and ingrown bumps. This is because my hair removal method mostly consists of epilating (using an epilator that basically plucks hairs right out). In my experience, when you use a hair removal method that removes the entire hair from the follicle (waxing, epilating, etc.) you have far more ingrown hairs than if you used other methods such as shaving, which comes with razor burn and bumps! There always seems to be a downside to any hair removal method. Since I epilate my entire bikini area (I use a razor for other areas like my legs, arms and underarms), I have ingrown hairs and bumps daily. It’s a never ending thing, really.

Plucking and digging ingrown hairs causes scars and little scabs, which all leave marks. This is what my biggest struggle has been, so I’ve been on a mission to try and at least reduce the number of ingrown hairs  I get  as well as reduce the appearance of all the discolored bumps and spots. However, I really appreciate an all-in-one kind of product, so this led to my big interest in trying Tend Skin. Most of the products I’ve used for these problems were either 100% ineffective and more like “novelty” products sold by adult product manufacturers (for a little extra cash) or products that didn’t give enough results for me to bother using it, much less continuing to buy it. Yes, I’ve tried the drugstore versions with very unsatisfactory results, so that’s when I started looking elsewhere and got my hands on all those products made my adult toy manufacturers, which gave me even less results and just angered me when I looked into the ingredients that showed the products were little or nothing more than a simple moisturizer!

So, here we are. Almost week into using Tend Skin. To start off, I only applied Tend Skin to one side of my epilated area (bikini area) and I did this a few hours after epilating and before bed. The next morning, I noticed the skin I applied it to was softer and I had less of those tiny bumps down the side of my bikini line. The other side that I did not apply Tend Skin to, obviously was still red with little ingrown hairs and bumps. I wanted to see up-close the difference, so this is why I only applied it to one side before using it all over. I was happy with the results and was excited to see more, so from then on, I’ve been using it all over the area – everywhere needed.

The skin looks better and is softer. It also seems the hairs come out slightly easier after applying it and allowing to dry. I’m not sure if this is my imagination or if Tend Skin is helping during the removal process too.

I’ve highlighted some of the details in the informative papers I have from Tend Skin and thought was important to include here.

Razor bumps (pseudofolliculitis barbae) occur on the faces of men with wiry, curly hair. 50-80% of African American men and 15-20% of Caucasian men suffer from this  daily. Beard hair tends to curl as it grows and can eventually burrow into skin adjacent to the hair follicle.

Shaving sharpens the hair ends, making it easier to penetrate the skin. Razor bumps cause itching, burning and make shaving impossible. When applied regularly, Tend Skin Liquid effectively and safely reduces the appearance of unsightly razor bumps as soon as it’s applied.

Ingrown hair
Ingrown hairs form under after the hair has been cut or removed below the skin’s surface. As the hair continues to grow it’ll curl over within the follicles and fail to reach the surface. The result is a bump on the skin. Women tend to get them after hair removal by shaving, waxing or electrolysis on their legs, bikini lines and underarms. Men get ingrown hairs on the face and neck. Regular application of Tend Skin Liquid will reduce the appearance of ingrown hairs for both men and women.

Razor Burn Redness
Use TendSkin Liquid to reduce the appearance of redness after all hair removal procedures.

Facials
You can use Tend Skin Liquid for a daily facial. Tend Skin cleanses the skin better than most cleansers and acts like a mild peel, and causes your skin to shine.

Foot/Underarm Deodorant
Tend Skin is an extremely effective underarm deodorant in addition to helping reduce the appearance of ingrown hairs and skin redness. Apply Tend Skin to feet before putting on socks and shoes or when removing them.

Necktie Redness
Tend Skin customers have reported using Tend Skin to reduce the appearance of “cherry neck” caused from neckties rubbing the area and irritating it after shaving.

Tend Skin can also remove ink from your skin.

For ingrown Hairs
Apply to existing ingrown hairs to reduce the appearance within 48 hours. Apply daily to determine your level of maintenance and adjust application accordingly. Tend Skin recommends avoiding tweezing to reduce damage – increased ingrown hair formation can result.

Shaving Razor Bumps
Apply before bed and again after your morning shave to dry skin. After skin has cleared, apply daily to determine your maintenance level and adjust application accordingly.

For razor burn or tie-redness, apply after shaving to clear the skin, then daily to maintain.

Waxing
Instead of powder, use Tend Skin to keep the wax from sticking to skin. Apply before waxing and allow to dry, then perform your hair removal.
After waxing, apply another thin layer to treated skin to reduce the appearance of redness and post-wax bumps.

Electrolysis
Apply before procedure to clean and help protect skin during the procedure. After procedure, apply another thin layer to soothe skin, reduce the appearance of redness and to minimize appearance of next-day bumping. Apply several times weekly to determine maintenance level.

Laser Hair Removal
After procedure, apply thin layer to reduce appearance of redness and minimize appearance of next-day bumps. To ensure full penetration of laser light, do not use before procedure.

Facials
Apply to face to cleanse. For mild exfoliation, leave on overnight.

Tips: Make sure to use a new razor every few uses. Blades are made of low-grade steel. If you use a dull blade Tend Skin may not work to reduce appearance of ingrown hairs and razor bumps, so replace the blade when it loses its new-blade feel.

Epilators: Tend Skin advises against these devices. They say epilators cause injury to the skin that is than razor blade scraping.  They also say tweezing can damage follicles and make ingrown hairs worse – this is true. I say that from experience. I’ve tweezed for years (bikini area) and it does make my ingrown hairs far worse, but I’ve learned to catch them early and dig them from underneath the skin, which is a real pain!

Loofah Pads: Tend Skin also recommends against the use of abrasive scrubbing. They say it can lead to an increase of ingrown hairs and works against the product.

There is a scent to Tend Skin. It smells just like rubbing alcohol, but the odor (not unpleasant anyways) dissipates soon after applying. It doesn’t leave my skin smelling of alcohol and even more important, it doesn’t leave any residue behind! Now that is something I love.  I remember in the past using a product that promised to “inhibit hair growth” so I bought the cream and used the spray-liquid version too. Both left behind a slimey residue and the spray left me somewhat sticky and I dreaded that feeling down stairs every day I used it! I expected Tend Skin to leave my skin dry since it smells of rubbing alcohol, so it was a lovely surprise to have seen no dryness, but my skin was replaced with a softer texture rather than the usual rough-like texture from so many years of hair removal.

PS. Tend Skin care’s brochure says “You will see results in 24 hours.” I mentioned above the softer skin, a few reduced bumps/redness I seen the first time I used it (the next day.)

USE
I apply Tend Skin to my bikini area after epilating. I apply it to my underarms after shaving and on other “problem areas” where I experience bumps or burn.

As I said, I use it mostly on my bikini area, but I avoid getting it… you know, in any overly-sensitive areas such as the inner labia. I imagine it may burn there, so I wouldn’t encourage doing that. Not to mention, and this is really strange/interesting to me, but I never have ingrown hairs or razor bumps on the inner labia minora! The worst area for me is the vulva – very top and around my legs/bikini line. So the good thing is, I don’t need to apply it in the inner parts.

Instructions
Test a small area before and again after hair removal. Allow 1 hour to test for a reaction. Proceed with full application if no reaction occurs.

In all instances of use, only a thin layer of Tend Skin Liquid is needed. Use a cotton ball (or your fingers, if you’re like me). To prevent unwanted peeling of skin, wash hands immediately after contact. Apply only to dry skin.

Ingredients
Water, Glycerin, Polyquaternium10,  Dimethicone Copolyol, Polysorbate 20, PVP/VA Copolymer, Parometachloroxylenol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Propylene Glycol, Diazolidinyl Urea, Mehylparaben, Propylparaben, Chloroxylenol, Fragrance, FD&C Blue #1.

*You might want to avoid use if you are sensitive to parabens and artificial coloring or other ingredients listed.

You can use moisturizer or cologne over Tend Skin, once it dries.

More information that's included in the papers (note: I've not included every detail, but have focused on the information on Tend Skin Liquid) is troubleshooting, which I thought was a really nice bit of info to add. Here is what it says:

For ingrown hairs that don't want to lift:

If ingrown hairs have been present for several months or longer, the product will need more time to show results.  Ingrown hairs will continue to grow even though they are under the skin. People have reported finding ingrown hairs up to an inch or longer -- like me! Like I said earlier, less than a whole month ago, I had one that was about 3 inches!!

To remove these hairs, Tend Skin recommends using tweezers near the end of the hair and gently "teasing"  to expose the hair from under the skin and then pluck it.

This is something I deal with daily -- removing my ingrown hairs. When I had the 3 inch long ingrown, I actually had to cut the skin a little bit to get to the hair and remove. I applied some aloe to prevent infection or bacterial (aloe vera is a natural anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and even more) and the thing healed up in no time with no scarring.

What I usually do for my ingrown hairs is basically what Tend Skin says. I use my Tweezerman's (these are great tweezers! You can find knock-offs similar. They have a sharp, slanted tip and are amazing for ingrowns.) Then, I try to locate the end of the hair that's under the skin, not the top where it grows out of the follicle. Then I use the tip of the tweezers to scrap in an upward motion and it usually causes the end of the hair to protrude from the skin quickly and with no injury or blood, although I have had bleeding in some cases. Once the hair is showing, just pluck that sucker!

Chic Emjoi Epliator

Just to take you with me on what would happen to be my "hair removal journey" number 50, I thought I'd update on how this misery has gone for the past year...

OK, this time last year I mentioned that I was just starting out with my hair removal system from Verseo. Well, quick update: HUGE disaster, rip-off, crap, no good piece of junk, bullshit method of removing hair! Those are just a few things that come to mind when I am reminded of my huge waste of Christmas money which, for your information was given to me by my mother and I stupidly blew most of it on a Verseo kit to remove hair. Well, thanks a lot Verseo your products suck ass! I'm not trying to be discrete here. Now, moving on...

So Verseo was my first experience other than wax, shaving and the regulars. I remember when it arrived. I was sick, deadly sick with some awful thing that the whole family had. It looked like our house had been abandoned after some huge blow-out party. It was like death here. For weeks. Anyways, I peeled myself out of bed to use the piece of crap. My love kindly plucked the hairs from my crotch (excuse my bluntness) while I screamed and tears rolled down my cheeks. I wrote it off as my pain tolerance being low due to being sick.

For the next 3 sessions, I held it in as long as I could and about 30 minutes into it I'll be honest, I cried my eyes out! The plucking is necessary to remove the hairs or Verseo won't work. Well having your cooter hairs plucked after being shocked on your cooter is not something that's pleasant anyways.

I finally got used to the plucking and have done it ever since. My entire girly region gets plucked one by one. No hair left behind! I ditched that piece of shit, rip-off disaster machine from Verseo and went for other methods. I have actually been using Kalo, a hair inhibitor for around 7 months now. I am not sure how successful it is yet, but it's at least better than Verseo. To use the inhibitor, the hair has to be totally removed from the follicle first i.e. waxing, plucking. So I tried sugar waxing and it's extremely tough. Not because it's painful, but because it's super hard to use and it takes hours to remove just a few hairs. I'm left with at least half the hairs. Maybe it's the sugar I'm using?

While using Kalo and waxing, I was about to just accept that there is truly no way to permanantly stop hair. But there was still one option that kept lingering around in the back of my head. Epilating. I wanted to try it, but did not want to waste more money on hair removal shit and I honestly was extremely skeptical.

I eventually decided I wanted to give epilating a shot, but was afraid I wouldn't be able to handle the pain. So I spent another several months making sure I was used to the daily plucking and I finally bought an epilator last month! I went with the Chic Emjoi because let's face, it, I'm a cheapie and after reading reviews didn't see a reason to spend $100 on a eplilator when I could get what seemed to be a darn good one for $35-40. I got the Chic Emjoi which I paid, I believe $43 for at CVS. Oh and I have to mention, I also picked up my highlight shampoo "pantene blond expressions) for only $1 whereas it's usually $7! Hell yea!

Now, about the epilator. Turns out it worked even better than I ever imagined and it didn't hurt a fraction as much plucking with tweezers! I really love it and the price is actually a darn good one for the quality.

I can't really compare the Chic Emjoi to others since I've only used this one, but I really don't understand paying over $80 for one when this one works so well.

Now this isn't really a review like what I usually do. It's only a brief... description I guess along with a few points of what I like about this epilator. If anyone could find this useful.

  - It is rechargable.
 - The price is about as cheap as you can get for an epilator. There are a couple under $40, but while reading tons of reviews on them, I wasn't convinced it would be very good quality at all.

 - It also comes with a shaver head which can be attached.

 - Comes with a nice, but cheap pouch to hold the epilator, charger and accessories which comes in real handy. I would lose the cleaning brush, shaver attachment and charger if I didn't have the pouch to keep everything together. It is a simple drawstring pouch and doesn't stay closed. Also, it's low quality and tears easily so making your own or just using a cosmetics bag is a good idea, but until then I'm happy to have that pouch.

- While it is easy to use and works well, leaving little to no hairs, it's freaking loud! It sounds like an electric razor. Most women would prefer minimal noise, but for the price and quality I can't complain too horribly much. This can be heard all throughout the house except for in the room farthest from my bathroom.

 - Almost painless! At first I thought it was not working because I couldn't feel the hair being pulled! The only way I knew hair was being pulled out was because I could see them on the epilator. Full hairs, shaft and all!

As for now, this has been the best solution for me. I use Kalo right after epilating to "inhibit growth of hair". Even 7 or so months into using Kalo I am still unsure how or if it is even working. I will update when and if something does happen with it though. It seems there are a smaller amount of hairs, but not enough to actually be sure that Kalo's working.

THE LONG, PAINFUL JOURNEY OF MY HAIR REMOVING DISASTER

Hello there my precious lovies. I've given lots of advice and tips of all kinds of things including hair removal. I'm not sure if any of you remember or not, but this past year, I started doing at home electrolysis. Quick note: it was pure hell and did not work. That's what lead me to this disaster of cooter burns and sores and ugly scabs.

At the moment, I just finished a torture session of plucking each hair out one by freaking one. I'm trying my hardest to laugh and see this situation as something that will one day be funny, but as my cooter has no skin, brown ugly scabs and light scarring, I'm finding it a bit hard to laugh.

It all started around December. I've been all crazy about permanantly removing those hairs since I first got them. When I was a teen, I started shaving daily. I've never gone more than 1 day without shaving ever since. (Well, except for the occasional tiny landing strip.) You get the point; I do not like hair on my girly parts, legs, arms, etc. I will not have it. I have gone to great lengths to get rid of it.

Last December I was ecstatic to start my permanant hair removal journey with the Verseo system. All I can say is it's a P.O.S. (for those of you who aren't aware, P.O.S. stands for Piece Of Shit! I spent hours on end with that thing and it's long tangly cords hooked up to my cooter. The shocking wasn't so bad after using the numbing gel. You get a break after several minutes and then just when you get comfortable, you suddenly feel your cooter being electrocuted. Then, you know your break is over and the machine is back to working.

After 15 minutes of this, you HAVE to pluck each and every hair one by one. This got so painful at times that I actually screamed and cried as the BF plucked. You see, when you pluck hairs, you're removing the total hair from the follicle. Unlike shaving which just cuts the hair shaft. Since the entire hair is being removed when plucking, those hairs will not grow back for about a week. This is the part where stupid F'n Verseo screws you then smiles politely and screws you again! You plucked after the session of electrocution, right? Ok, so a week passes and you're running around with your silky smooth, hairless cooter and you're thinking wow! This verseo shiz must really be working, I've not had hair grow back for a whole week! You are fooled! You think Verseo is killing the hair growth cycle and you start to get happy and feel like a hairless princess. Wrong! It is not the Verseo. It's the fact that you've plucked each hair from it's home and endured the suffering therfore the hair is only staying gone for a week because you plucked! $80.00 later and probably a whole new set of pads that you paid $20 for, you realize this. Then you pray to God that he will send down his wrath on those damn Verseo people who ripped you off and you pray that no woman ever has to go through what you did.

After you finally see there is NO hope with Verseo, you explore other options. I found a terrific option just this month as I was saving up for a stupid, over priced hunk of pain called the "No! No!" Which is similar to Verseo, but not really. It's a whopping $200. So, just as I reached the half way mark on my debit card where I was saving for the stupid No! No! & Hating myself for resorting to that thing, I was given a real blessing. It's a hair inhibitor cream (or spray if you prefer) I done lots of research and decided it was for me. I've wasted money on Verseo & will hate them with every part of my being & my cooter until the day I die. I've put my poor cooter throuh absolute excruciating pain, I shocked her and I thought that was as bad as it got. Wrong again!

After all the research, I decided to purchase this cream. It works by permanantly removing the hair ONLY if you use a method that totally removes the entire hair from it's follicle first i.e. plucking, sugaring/waxing, depilatory. After you remove the hair, you rub on the cream and continue this over time, you'll be hair free, baby! Ok, so all I needed was a means of removing that hair without plucking. 1. Plucking takes way too long on your cooter. 2. Plucking put me through major pain, but I kept enduring it for all these months! I'm not talking just the top part either, I'm talking FULL cooter. Not a single area was left out!

I have Veet (depilatory) have used it tons of times, I prefer not to though. I have also waxed my entire cooter all on my own before. No problem. Just excruciating pain. My cooter's been through hell by now so I think ' at this point, she can handle anything.' I wanted to get a sugar instead of wax, but had little options at the store & was in a hurry. I got Nad's. Let me go ahead and say, my poor, poor, defenseless, burned, cracked, deformed, brown, scabbing, pink and scarring cooter. What did she ever do to deserve this kind of torture?!

I got all excited and got ready. It wasn't the pain of ripping you first few layers of cooter skin off along with the hair that bothered me. Like I said, I was pretty much ready for a good deal of pain. I prepared and said I'm taking this on once and for all!

I read the directions over & over. I rubbed the strip of green wax in between my palms while lying on my bed. I stuck the strip on & felt really dang happy that I was finally getting a real permanant removal. All I had to do to start this removal was rip those babies from their tiny little holes. I rubbed hard to make sure the wax stuck well. Then I ripped it off with all of my might. Didn't hurt much at all. It didn't grab a single hair either. Then, I tried again with the same strip (As directed on the box) nothing. I used another strip. Nothing. Another and I used it in a different area. Nothing.

By this time my hands are sticky and so is my cooter. I have never in my life felt anything this sticky and f'n impossible to deal with! It was worse than super glue. I am not exaggerating! At this point, I was so frustrated (and sticky) that it was time for a smoke. I needed one badly after all this. Too bad my lighter was perma-glued to my hand. I used my other hand to pick it off & while trying to strike it, my thumb glued to the striker! I ripped it off and finally achieved my smoke. Then, I jumped furiously up from the bed to go wash the mess off & my pretty zebra comforter came dragging along behind me. Huh? Why on earth is my comforter stuck to my ass? Well, apparently the glue, uh I mean wax had smeared to my lower thigh and real close to my cheek! I ripped the comforter off of my ass & stormed into my bathroom.

I had no idea what to do so I stood there looking around. I saw a bottle of dish detergent, scrubbing bubbles, peroxide, sugar scrubs, lots of soap. First I tried soap. That did nothing. My hands even stuck to my towel. Then I tried dish detergent. Not much better, but worked a little while scrubbing vigorously with a cloth. Still sticky. Next: sugar scrub. Then I grabbed the peroxide and scrubbed it all over my hands and crotch. Not a damn thing! I was reaching for the scrubbin' bubbles when I decided to give the detergent one more try.

Finally, it was still terribly sticky, but not to the point where my towel would glue to my cooter so I gave up. Couple days later, decided I was not giving up on my hair removal. This cooter would be permanantly naked once and for all no matter what it took.

Remember, this is a couple of days later and the Nad's bullshit wax ( I can't for the life of me figure out why nad's is still on the market after how it's permanantly damaged so many women. I didn't know this until after!) did not remove hair. The nad's was so awful that it just made me sticky. It didn't even break the skin. I am not sensitive, either. Now, after those couple of days passed, I went for the Veet. I rubbed it on real quick & rinsed my hands then immediately turned on the shower and stepped in. This was less than a full minute. As soon as I got in my cooter was burning so badly I could've cried. It was actually painful. I could feel my skin being eaten away. No joke! I looked down and saw little spots where the skin was totally gone and I could see it just rotting away. Have you ever turned over an old hunk of wood outside and saw tiny little worm holes or trails all over it where a worm or something has eaten through making a tunnel like thing? This is exactly how my cooter looked! The skin that was not yet rotting away was turning grey. Probably because it was the death of my poor skin.

I'm trying to rinse it off quickly as possible and it's so painful just to touch that I couldn't do it! I kept trying to gently swipe the Veet off and it was the most painful thing I've ever felt. I had to just do my best & use the shower head to spray it off. I was terrified. As soon as I rinsed it, I tried wrapping a towel around my wait & it stuck to the raw skin. I wasn't able to put anything over it. I laid down and called my sis & a few minutes later the cover was stuck to my raw cooter where that clear liquid was leaking from the raw, open skin and drying to my cover! It started feeling like someone used a hammer on my cooter and then dumped boiling water on top. I was truly thinking I was going to have to go to the ER! I never go to the hospital, ever! Thankfully, I made it with no ER visit. That would've been humiliating!

The only thing that saved my cooter from probably deformation and even more severe burns was that I just so happened to be taking aloe vera pills for a few weeks! That is why it started scabbing and trying to heal so soon. Still, it's been 3 days and my cooter looks disgusting. It looks deformed. It's dark, dark brown where the burns were and some are peeling off. Those areas are shiny pink. I'm hoping there will be no scars. :(

I absolutely hate Nad's and Veet! The next day, I took pictures of my cooter and as I was "inspecting" I noticed nasty bruises all over it! Gosh, it looks like someone beat my cooter up. I've used Veet before and never experienced anything like this and I usually leave it on for 6-7 minutes!

After that, I've been totally freaked out by the sight of it. It doesn't even look right anymore. The aloe is making an enormous difference though. I believe that's the only reason it's healing.

Now, I just finished plucking each hair one by freaking one. I can usually handle plucking the hairs without screaming except for the upper ahem... lips (sorry for the graphic, ugly details) Anyways, that one inch on each side is just too painful. Thankfully, I was able to pluck every one of them off today because I no longer have much feeling left in those parts. A special thanks to Nad's and Veet! Thank you crappy, cooter ruining companies who have made my cooter ugly and unable to feel jerking tiny hairs out one by one! I was able to pull them all out with not much pain at all! I didn't even squeal. I'd rather it not have happened by severely ugly-fying my crotch though.

Right before I started typing my story, I went ahead and rubbed on the hair inhibitor lotion now that the hairs have been fully removed. I'm supposed to use it 3 more times today I think and 2 tomorrow. Or is it 2 today and 3 tomorrow? Anyways, I am happy that I'm finally starting a the REAL journey to hair removal. No more crappy, lying Verseo. And just incase you are wondering, I do keep a shit list. It currently includes: Verseo, Nad's, and Veet. Veet is not so much on my shit list as I'm just angry. The nad's is what caused the reaction even though I used it 2 days before! But, Veet is usually not too bad although I don't use it unless I have to because it's nasty, stinks, contains harfmul chemicals and easily causes yeast infections. EW!

But, before I resorted to my plucking each hair tonight, I tried doing a sugar wax. I made it myself. Lemon, Sugar, honey, are some of the ingredients. Very simple unless you do like I did and over cook it then get it stuck to your finger while it's at a boiling point and then try sticking it to your crotch only to find that you cooked it too long and it's so hard it will break. Ugh! This hair removal will be the death of me. Then, I had a beautiful time trying to clean the pan I used to cook it in. Oh Jesus! It was rough. It actually did come off the pan with a little hot water and dish detergent soaking. Now, I'm waiting on my new sugar to come in & that will hopefully work for removing the hair and I won't have to dull my neon pink tweezers by plucking every crotch hair I have.

Although the sugaring is much more pleasant (if you do it right) it's still messy. I ended up somehow getting a nasty clump of it stuck to my beautiful zebra comforter, my furry pink cover and my freakin' new tee shirt from Wicky Tees. :( Man was I pissed! Good thing is, it should wash out.

I'll be updating how this goes on my second round which should be this week! I'm scared, but so desperate that I will do anything! I need to look into a good cooter number that's cheap just incase the feeling comes back in my cooter. Anybody know a good numbing gel?

Now that my crotch feels like it has died and gone to hell, I will still keep you lovelies updated on this journey (if you're not too grossed out yet.) and will be revealing the product I am using and will also do a nice review on the hair inhibitor I am using. It's a good one! The only thing I hate is that you have to totally remove the hair first. Still beats the No! No! and the stupid Verseo.

While I'm still here, do any of you have ANY stories or tips you'd like to share with me? Anything little extras that may help? What have you tried? Am I the only one who's had a disaster like this? Have you ever burned your poor little crotch? I'll be very appreciative for any shares, tips, advice!

Much love,
Kendra

(PS. Wish my crotch luck!)

I've finally used the VAJ-J VISORS!

Hello, hello my lovies,

A while back I mentioned in a blog post how I thought the Va-j-j Visor seemed like it could really be a great product. Well lucky me, I finally got some! I've really been interested in trying them for so long now and I'm very glad to have them. Wanna know everything I think about them, how they worked for me? Of course you do!

This is the gorgeous bright purple Vaj-j Visor. You can see the shape and size of the inside that makes for comfortable fitting. It kind of slopes down at the right side (the photo is sideways.) The sloping part covers the bottom part of the labia & vaj-j. The rounded end (left side in photo) covers the top part and of course the middle covers the majority of the labia and all.

I've taken quite a few photos to give you a better idea of what it looks like, how it fits, etc.

WHAT THE VAJ-J VISOR IS FOR

For those of you who aren't aware, the Vaj-j Visor is designed to "cover" the sensitive areas of the well, vaj-j. It's a small, discrete little boat like thing made of plastic, soft plastic that's a bit flexible. You place it over the entire labia areas for safety or modesty reasons such as electrolysis, hair removal, shaving, and tanning. It's a wonderful product for those of us who can't stand the thought of a stranger being face to face with our cooters while waxing or other hair removal procedures. It's also used to cover and protect the sensitive areas while doing at home hair removal with depillitories and such. You could use it for shaving, but if you're looking for a close shave then it seems it would not stay in place & only get in the way because as you tug and pull to reach inner areas while shaving, it will not stay. Also, if you're shaving close & shaving the inner parts, I don't think it will stay in place.

Here you can see that the Vaj-j Visors have a comfortable handle for easy placing. The handle like thingy is not uncomfortable & doesn't get in the way. They're surprisingly comfortable. So gorgeous!

HOW I USE MY VAJ-J VISOR (PROUDLY!)

I used mine for tanning as I know tanning is dangerous and I am exposed to harmful rays, I feel much better knowing my cooter is pretty safe under the visor. I really hate the darkening of those parts from tanning, so the Vaj-j Visor is absolutely perfect for that!

While laying in the tanning bed, you're laying pretty still and your legs are close together so it stays in place well. If I moved around too much it would fall right off though unless I tightened the muscles really good to hold it.

I'm still learning to get it to stay put, but it seems to do well as long as you're not moving a lot or tugging at areas while getting around to remove hair.
As I was told, it was a little complicated getting it to stay in place, but it did.

I do my own hair removing. I do not go to others for that so I'm unsure exactly how the experience would be, but I'm sure it's much more comfortable having the Vaj-j Visor to keep those parts from being exposed and being exposed like that can be really hard for women. I have serious issues with those things! I love having them on hand just in case though.

I'm not sure if professional hair removal requires a lot of tugging at the private areas, but if it does the Vaj-j Visor may not stay in place if you're not keeping your muscles tightened. But then again, I may be getting that idea because mine may be shaped a little closer together causing the Vaj-j Visor not to rest between the lips without it coming out.

It does cover well though. Nothing will be exposed except for the vulva parts while wearing the Vaj-j Visor. I really like that it will cover any body type or shape. That would certainly give me peace of mind while doing any waxing or professional treatments.

Here you can see how flexible and easily it is to fit and conform to any shape. Pretty huh?

These beautiful little guys are not only good for professional hair removal services. They also keep things covered while using depillitory creams. I did find that it was much easier to get the cream where I wanted it without getting it in the very sensitive areas.

The thing is, while the packaging of the depillitory advises not to use the product on genitals at all, as I told before, I had to do it anyways. I wasn't able to cover it well or really keep it on long because of it rubbing together and smearing into dangerous areas so the Vaj-j Visor makes it absolutely perfect for getting rid of the unwanted hairs with no fear. That's wonderful!

I keep mine in my purse for tanning visits. I'll be taking the pink one on a trip to the tanning bed tomorrow night! They are disposable, but I decided to clean it & re-use because for the tanning bed, they really aren't ruined afterwards & I cleaned it well with soap and warm water so it should hold up well. It was really easy to clean too.

One of my favorite things about the Vaj-j Visors is that they can keep germs away. If you really think about it, laying in a warm bed naked right after other naked people laid, it has to collect germs at some point, clean or not. And the really awful thing about the tanning beds I just started going to is that they rarely get cleaned! It's a very small tanning business ran by one woman & I guess she really doesn't see the need to clean them. I've walked out of the tanning bed 5 times & had the owner walk out right by me without cleaning it & get in her car and leave. I'm dead serious. That's why I started requesting to clean it myself. I've actually got to where I bring my own cleaner and all.

I still think that there has to be some germs that don't get killed. Whether or not that's true, I'd rather be safe than sorry & I can now feel totally comfortable & am able to relax while tanning.

The Vaj-j Visor covers the entire area (Yes entry and all.) so no more nightmares of a disease crawling in while I'm napping in there!

PRO'S

1. They're soft plastic & flexible so they'll comfortably fit anyone.

2. It wasn't irritating at all. It didn't feel uncomfortable as you may expect.

3. Covers every sensitive part keeping you from being exposed to harmful chemicals, nicks, cuts, and UV rays, burns, labia darkening, etc.

4. Covers the entire insides to give you comfort during procedures such as hair removal, waxing, etc.

5. They're absolutely beautiful! Comes in 3 colors: a gorgeous green, purple & pink!

6. They are small & discrete. You can slip into your purse with no embarrassment. If it happens to show, either no-one will think much of it or they'll just think it's a really pretty container or something.

7. Disposable, but I cleaned & re-used mine for tanning.

They're great for so many different uses. I'm very glad to have them! I think they're more than perfect. I actually have been thinking of carrying it along to cover the parts that aren't neccessary to exposure during a female's yearly exams. I think it'd be so much more comfortable having it to cover the parts that you don't want to show. Even though during those awful exams, you're going to be uncomfortable because some of those insides will be exposed, but it'd be very nice to cover the upper labia. I give the Vaj-j Visor a 10.
