Non-GMO Bumble Bar Review

Bumble Bars are nutritious, organic, certified gluten free, healthy, digestive-friendly energy bars made mostly of sesame, sunflower, and/or flax seeds.

With the exciting healthy and safe ingredients in Bumble Bars, let's just jump right into pointing out the good stuff:

GMO free
Ethically Sourced
Kid Approved (IMO, especially the chocolate flavor.)
 Vegan Approved
 Organic Energy
Sesame Snack Bars

About Bumble Bar:
BumbleBar has been the original organic, vegan, gluten free, ethically sourced sesame bar since 1995. Still handcrafted in small batches by a company that follows the People, Planet, Profit business model.

So far, the Bumble Bars have become one of my favorite bars as far as satisfying a sweet craving and feeling truly satisfied after eating goes.

I'm also super fond of the health benefits of the ingredients. Flax and sunflower seeds are healthy, filling, and beneficial for the digestive system. Really beneficial. If you're like me and suffer with digestive issues like IBS-D, then I say these are a perfect way to get the benefits of flax seeds!

I also think these are absolutely one of the best ways to... how should I put this? As the commercials on TV put it, "regulate you." Seriously, these healthy snack bars, probably due to the seeds, are the real deal if you have trouble in that area.

I won't go any farther on that topic.

The different (and awesomely unique) Bumble Bar flavors include:
Original Peanut, Chocolate Crisp, Amazing Almond, Lushus Lemon, Chai Almond, Classic Cashew, Chunky Cherry, Harvest Hazelnut, Awesome Apricot, Mixed Nut Medley, Paradise Pineapple, Cherry Chocolate, Chocolate Mint, and Chocolate Peanut Butter.

Gotta love the variety of unique flavors available, especially since they help keep you from getting bored or burned out on the same flavors, although it's possible that I'd be able to eat the same flavor of these everyday forever and never get burned out with them.

TASTE:
So far, most of the bars taste a lot like honey and seeds. The sweet flavor is like that of  honey.

The chocolate and peanut butter bar are somewhat similar to the taste of a brownie, and the peanut butter flavor wasn't very noticeable to me. It mostly tastes of a hint of chocolate.

The bars, and their flavors are very simple yet totally satisfying.

Amazing Almond has delicious slivers of almonds in it, along with the same crispy rice that the Chocolate Crisp has. I'm really fond of that since as it gives the bars a crunch and more texture. I absolutely love almonds (and most nuts. Edible ones, that is) Bonus: almonds are a source of energy, so they're perfect in the Bumble Bar energy bars.

Cashew: Is pretty much exactly like the almond, only with a couple cashew slivers thrown in. I'm a major cashew-lover, so of course, these were great.

Lushus Lemon has an absolutely divine aroma of lemon. I basically inhaled that one! It has a sweet, lemon-y flavor that could easily be a favorite among lemonade or lemon-drop lovers like myself. I love a fruity bar of any type, and this totally fulfills my craving of a fruity, sweet snack.
This is the Lushus Lemon Bumble Bar. All the flavors I've mentioned look almost exactly alike, slightly differing where there's almonds, rice, and chocolate.

Chai Almond was has a very different (if not somewhat odd)  flavor from anything I've eaten. It's kind of spicy, and of course sweet at the same time. I didn't taste the almonds so much in this one as with the Amazing Almond.

So far, my favorites have been the Chocolate Crisp, Amazing Almond, Peanut, and Lushus Lemon.

Satisfying and Filling:

As most of us know, a lot of sweets and junk foods in general, leave us only wanting more. It's almost like the more you eat of it, the more your body begs for more of it. Yet if you simply want to get rid of that nagging sweet-craving, so you indulge thinking you'll only have one cookie.

Until you're reminded that one isn't ever enough. Then, you're reaching into the bottom of the container only to realize you've completely over-done it, and now you're bloated and feeling yucky, but something inside of you is still screaming "but I'm not fully satisfied just yet. Just one more!"

It's an ugly, vicious, never-ending cycle, and I've been determined for several months now to kick its behind.

Naturally, as I hunted down more and more healthy alternatives to these outrageous sweet-food cravings I get, I finally ended up being turned on to these Bumble Bars. When one of you readers described them to me, I was intrigued from then on, and eventually became more and more interested in trying them out for myself that the awesome, kind folks at Bumble Bar agreed to collaborate with me, giving me an opportunity to try them for myself.

I'm a big fan of "bars." I could live off granola bars, cereal bars, and snack bars and those super-filling protein bars found in gas-stations. I haven't ever came across any "bar" that I didn't absolutely love, even the peanut butter ones I made myself and posted the recipe for a while back.

I wasn't surprised that I fell in love with the Bumble Bars. But I was surprised that the bars -- made mostly of packed-together seeds that have some flavoring to sweeten them -- were so satisfying to me and my vicious cravings.

I'm glad that every night, as my sweet-tooth kicks in and starts screaming at me to stop working and start devouring any sugar-laden product in sight, so far I've been able to replace the junk with one Bumble Bar and be completely satisfied, the screaming craving calmed.

This is quite rare for me. In fact, I can't think of any other sweet that does actually leave me feeling satisfied and not hunting for more before the night is over.

It's extremely rare for me to feel that I've fully satisfied my sweet craving (and you guys know I've tried virtually every sweet-junk-food alternative and every healthy option out there.) I find that one Bumble Bar leaves me completely satisfied and not thinking about how I want more.

I love the natural taste of these and that I can eat a Bumble Bar, feel decently satisfied as far as hunger goes and not feel all crappy after having one. Other sweets tend to leave me feeling bloated and just not well after I indulge, but the natural, healthy ingredients of Bumble Bars don't.

You really notice a difference in the "fullness" you feel after eating a healthy, natural food than the not-so-satisfaction you get as a result of eating unhealthy ones. I can even eat an entire fast food meal and it's like my stomach begins to get a bloated sensation more than the true "full" sensation that comes with natural, cleaner eating.

That, and the fact that the bars are filling as a snack are my favorite things about the Bumble Bars.

Aside from that, I love that the bars are basically just flax and sunflower seeds. I was super surprised that they were filling at all. I didn't expect a bunch of seeds to be filling, but I can eat one Bumble Bar on an empty stomach and it quietens my hunger pretty decently for a good while. I can usually hold off eating a huge meal if I will just have a Bumble Bar an hour or less before I go into a meal.

With that said, I feel like these bars could be a sort of  alternative to deterring from sugar-laden, unhealthy snacks as well as possibly an aid for portion control. I tend not to pig out so much if I've eaten a Bumble Bar within an hour before a meal.

All the different Bumble Bar flavors can be found and purchased here.

P.S. Needing extra protein and don't mind a few extra calories from peanut butter? Add a slather of it (or Nutella... Yum!) over the bars before chowing down. Also a perfect way to get kids to eat them, if they're weird about seed-bars, which I doubt they will be.

Energy and Weight Loss Supplement Scam - MethylHex 4.2 and Rapid Action Energize

I want to some insight shed light really quickly regarding the energy/weight-loss supplement MethylHex 4.2.

MethylHex 4.2 is an energy supplement that claims to also cause weight loss. A 60 day supply costs $60 to $80, depending on where you purchase.

That's pretty expensive considering it has the exact same ingredients in it as the Rapid Action Energize 2-way supplement found at gas stations for around $5 for 4 tablets. In fact, an entire case (24 packs) of the Rapid Action tablets can be bought for less than $50.

So basically, this high-priced MethylHex 4.2 garbage is nothing more than an extremely, painfully over-priced knock-off with huge claims and promises. Some of those promises include: energy, weight loss, focus and mental clarity, and even improved mood.

I would like to dive deeper into this particular topic, but I'm late for work right now and just wanted to put that little snippet of information out there as quickly as I could since many people are paying such outrageous prices for a product that's basically identical to one much cheaper.

I have used the Rapid Action Energize stuff and absolutely hated it. It came with a host of disgusting side effects that just made me feel downright shitty. It made me sweat like a beast all over my body, although I felt chilled. A lot like a bad fever. It made my head feel like it was spinning (and not in the good way.) I felt like my mind was all over the place and I couldn't focus for the life of me.

Furthermore, instead of energizing me, it made me feel ill where I only wanted to lie down and not move, but with the most extreme jitters I've ever had. I felt like my entire body was vibrating, and to put it simply, just nothing in my body felt "right."

So, I'm not endorsing or recommending either of the two products, but think it's important to let folks know when there's two products that are the same, but with hugely different price tags.

Lastly, upon an Internet search, I also came across a "Warning Letter" to SEI Pharmaceuticals (the makers of MethylHex) issued by the FDA. Seeing an FDA "Warning Letter" is always a red flag.

At this moment, I don't have time to dig deeper into the letter or the manufacturer or the supplement itself, as I'm late for work as it is, but I encourage you guys to do some research if you've been using the MethylHex or have been considering taking it.

Derma ProMedics Anti-Wrinkle Formula -- Gem 2 of Wrinkle Care

The Anti-Wrinkle Formula by Derma ProMedics is gem number 2 of the Derma ProMedics "gem products" I've been ravin' about.

Derma ProMedics, a "state of the art" Anti-Wrinkle Formula is an "anti-aging, micro sculpting wrinkle reducer" that is said to be "better than botox" on the website for ordering.

"Derma Promedics is a scientifically tested serum that actually works. It comprises of state of the art firming ingredients and a perfect mix of vital moisturizers along with vitamins. Once you apply Derma Promedics, the skin is well nourished and feels pampered. The effects of Derma Promedics that work on your skin are:

  • Derma Promedics is purely responsible for diminishing wrinkle density by 37%
  • Derma Promedics manages to reduce the Wrinkle volume by 18.5%
  • Last but not the least Derma Promedics reduces surface wrinkles by 44.9%
  •
These statistics are scientifically researched and tested. This makes Derma Promedics an Anti Aging Micro Sculpting Wrinkle reducing serum that helps to fight the signs of aging, thus giving you a young looking smooth skin."

How Does it Work?

Anti-Aging Serum works by actually pulling skin tighter to smooth out its surface, creating an appearance of smoother, less aged skin.

The Matrixyl™3000 ingredient in the Anti-Wrinkle Serum has been shown to reduce deep wrinkles, add more moisture to the skin, and keep it there longer (Clinical Studies.)

The claims of this product were so large that I didn't know whether to just send my entire wallet to the Derma ProMedics or be wary, so of course I opted for sampling first (thankfully the company was kind enough to allow me, and that alone, in my experience, tends to be a good sign about a company's product.)

Anyways, just take a look at the products' awesome properties and see what I mean. Sounds like some incredibly powerful stuff!

The folks at Derma ProMedics were so incredibly kind that they allowed me to try both the Eye Renewal product (recently reviewed) and their Anti-Wrinkle Formula I'll be reviewing today.

My Goals (as far as using this and any anti-aging product goes)

To give ya'll an idea of what my goals are and what my skin type is, what I'm hoping to accomplish by using the Derma ProMedics products, I'll give you some brief detail:

1. Prevent wrinkles, improve the minor aging signs I do have. I'm 24, and I do have minor lines forming around my mouth, also known as "smile lines."

It's been my goal to work towards combating signs of aging since I turned about 19. Wanting to use prevention early, I began trying many different anti-agers and as always, continue to moisturize religiously. I've always had dry skin issues, so moisturizing is a must, and I figure in the long run, it'll help towards my goal of preventing aging signs.

I prefer a product that will do both -- take care of my skin by moisturizing it as well as work towards healthy skin while also preventing aging signs as much as possible. I feel confident that Derma Pro Medics' Anti-Wrinkle Formula/Serum is my best bet for anti-aging and for reducing what I do have.

2. Remove blemish or dark spots, which are on my skin from previous breakouts, and occur frequently.

3. Lighten/improve the dark, sunken circles that have appeared underneath my eyes and never went away, no matter how much sleep, vitamins, minerals and herbs I take.

Something else I hope I might accomplish by using the Derma ProMedics products is just maybe reducing the minor scarring I've obtained on my cheeks from breakouts. Some ingredients in the Anti-Wrinkle formula have been touted by some as useful for this.

My skin type:
Combination skin -- dry "flakes" are common around my cheeks and nose while the middle of my forehead has excess shine/oil most of the time. Breakouts occur more frequently than I'd like, leaving behind blemish marks.  Minor, but noticeable scarring on cheeks from previous breakouts.

What Are The Claims, What's This Stuff Supposed to Do?
  • Derma ProMedics is responsible for reducing signs of aging that appear on the face. It reduces wrinkles and visible fine lines. 45% less wrinkles in 2 months.

  • It keeps the skin hydrated and moisturized. Therefore the skin feels soft and flexible.

  • Derma Promedics is smooth to apply and does not break or flake like other products.

  • The state of the art firming ingredients that are present in Derma Perfect ensures to keep the skin light and tight.

  • Derma Promedics boosts collagen in the body right from the cellular level that helps to fight the signs of aging.
  • This is considered to be 100% safer option than Botox.
  • Reduces eye puffiness
  • Lightens dark circles
  • Revitalizes the enlarged pores
  • Keeps the skin refreshed and rejuvenated at all times

How to Use Derma ProMedics' Anti Wrinkle Formula:
It's recommended that you apply it to freshly cleansed skin, then simply apply the clear, thin gel-like serum to "affected areas." I tend to apply it on the areas where wrinkles commonly form -- around the mouth, eyes and forehead. However, I also apply a dab to any blemish or acne since some of the ingredients do double as an acne fighter. In short, they help dry out the pimples/blemish, getting rid of them sooner.

My Results with Anti Wrinkle Formula
Here are a couple of "before" photos so we can track my progress and you guys can follow along. Believe me, it wasn't easy posting photos of me with zero makeup (aside from mascara. I actually cleaned everything off, leaving the mascara just for these pictures!). You may notice the bags or dark eye circles. Notice the smile lines. And let's see if over the next month of using these Derma Promedics, we can't just diminish those a bit!

In this one, you can really see the under-eye circles and darkness as well as my smile lines.

After 1 month from the start period, I'll be taking "after" pictures and posting them for you guys to see for yourself if I've gotten any progress! Just promise not to judge! ;)

I'd like to make note of a few things I can attest to, regarding the claims made about this Derma ProMedics product:

1. Serum doesn't leave noticeable residue behind on my skin.

2. It's true that there isn't any "breaking or flaking," and some skin-tightening products have left me with a film over my skin that had visible cracks in it. The Derma ProMedics does seem to absorb really well into my skin, without making my skin feel tight like many tightening products do.

3. It doesn't interfere negatively with my combination skin -- no negative results such as drying out my skin or causing oiliness, even in the areas that are typically dry/oily.

4. Formula goes on smooth and weightless, and does not interfere with makeup  application. I can apply before using makeup (including heavy foundations) and it gives me no issues.

I often notice a slight sensation on my skin that's subtle it's like a "tingle" or something between a subtle tingle and a light stinging sensation that dissipates as it dries. Hours after applying, I notice a tight feeling in the area I applied. I typically use it before bed, and sometimes when I wake up, I'll notice that subtle tightening sensation on the areas around my mouth and forehead, where I applied the serum. So that is interesting and could be a hint of the serum working its magic.

As for my results, I have definitely noticed that this serum removes blemishes and helps pimples diminish sooner, also lightens the dark spots left over from previous blemishes. It took about 1 week of use before I got these results, so I'd say with continuous use, it could definitely do a job on wrinkles and lines, it'll just take time to do the trick and show results. I'll update as I go.

Bath Buzz Caffeinated Shower Gel

You guys remember Chemical Evolution and my posts on their butt-kickin' energy products that I've tried, right? If you haven't, I'll brief you. I've shown you my lovely energy stash, supplied by Chemical Evolution and shared everything about the products I've tried from there. But, there's still one more thing...

I even take a small piece of Chemical Evolution with me when I...

Bathe! That's right. These guys at Chemical Evolution didn't dare expect a girl to have all this tasty energy candy and gum, only to leave her empty handed while she bathes!

So, I present to you, Bath Buzz, the Caffeinated Shower Gel! Just think of it as this:

This is me while using  Bath Buzz (for get relaxation and bubble baths!):

Ha. Ha! Kidding. That's a cat, silly. It's caffeinated shower gel, not an LSD infused bubble bath! Although, I can't imagine a more entertaining bath experience... Back to topic!

So, Bath Buzz is an awesome shower gel that contains caffeine. And you thought you were Mr. Caffeine consumer of the year didn't you? Shame on you for ever giving yourself such a title, unless you happen to consume your cup of coffee while soaking up the bubbles in a caffeinated bath, then you, my friend, deserve the title Mr. Caffeine Consumer of the Year. Otherwise, step aside.

Okay, crazyiness aside. Bath Buzz Caffeinated Shower Gel really is not only awesome for its novelty-ness and because it's so damn gift-worthy, but it actually does make a fantastic bubble bath. With serious bubble-action, too. I realize it's called "shower gel," and I enjoy using it in the shower, too, but I was even happier to see that it worked wonderfully as a bubble bath too.

The Caffeinated Shower Gel contains as much caffeine as a whole cup of coffee!

But isn't a waste of precious caffeine to put it in your bath water when you could be consuming it?

I wondered the same thing... when I was 5! Kidding. I'm sorry. I have a mean streak today. It's really unlike me, so please bear with me. I'm only joking, for Pete's sake.

But I learned that caffeine actually can be absorbed through our biggest organ (no, not that organ!), the skin!

So it does still benefit you, even if you don't pour it down the shoot. It'll have basically, the same effect -- make you more alert and energized, just like it does when you drink it, although I'm unsure if having your cup of joe for breakfast vs. bathing in it would effect you more, less or the same.

It feels to me, as if perhaps I drank a slightly weak cup of coffee. That's probably just because the coffee I drink, I fix myself and I fix it strong. So to someone who's used to McDonald's green bean juice coffee that's however strong it is, this will probably provide you with an even bigger energy boost.

Who knows? You might even end up cleaning the shower walls before you ever even get out of the tub.

I'll get all energetic in my bath and spend forever in there when I'm using this Bath Buzz Shower Gel!

By the time I get out, I'm all shiny and new, and wondering what the hell made me decide to shave all of my legs this time instead of just half of them.. Or actually both of them instead of just one. What can I say, I don't always finish what I start.

The Caffeinated Shower Gel was actually created to wake your ass up. It's been proven that scents such as rosemary and peppermint do stimulate your mind and give it a boost, and those are two ingredients in the Bath Buzz Caffeinated Shower Gel. It contains Peppermint and Rosemary essential oils, so it's not the old artificial scented crap that probably wouldn't work. It's the real deal.

Bath Buzz Caffeinated Shower Gel also contains one of my most favored ingredients in everything from food to every single skincare product I use -- aloe vera! Aloe Vera has a lot of benefits (even if you don't eat it). It's soothing and moisturizing.

Plus, aloe is a natural antibacterial, anti-fungal and more! The Caffeinated Shower gel also contains Witch Hazel, so you aren't sacrificing cleanliness for a good Bath Buzz.

The strong, minty aroma of the Caffeinated Shower Gel makes bathing a pleasant experience. It actually is a nice, clean and refreshing smell, although the smell of coffee all over my skin really would not bother me, either. Good news is, you don't walk around smelling like a big hefty peppermint after bathing. The scent fades.

I really don't want to bore you guys (some people say when I list ingredients and go into extremely deep detail about what each ingredient does, it's boring), but I think ingredients are important, so I'm going to list them. And please don't hunt me down and do awful things to me (like steal my caffeinated shit). Simply scroll the f#!$ down and read other parts of this fantastic post. I mean, I'm not gonna force nobody to know the ingredients in somethin' or anything.

Ingredients:
Deionized water, Sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, cocamide DEA, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) distillate, Chamomilla flower extract, citric acid, sodium chloride, phenoxyethanol, ethyhexylglycerin, hexylene glycol, carpylyl glycol, FD&C Blue #1, FD&C Yellow #5.

Fundamental Natural Skin Lotion from Earth Turns *Review*

Recently, I have had the amazing opportunity to try a few products available at Earth Turns, who happen to be a very friendly company that carries a variety of high quality products like supplements and natural/herbal products, and even a beauty department. All of the products Earth Turns carry are manufactured under Current Good Manufacturing Process Standards and are natural, safe and effective. At this moment, I've been slathering on the on this hydrating Fundamental Natural Skin Lotion.

Before I get into the review for the Fundamental Natural Skin Lotion,  I wanted to take a second to include that Earth Turns has an A+ BBB rating, and at the moment, they're doing free shipping for  US orders! You really can't beat free shipping these days.

The Fundamental Natural Skin Lotion is also part of the line I've come to love, available at Earth Turns.

The Fundamental Natural Skin Lotion contains all natural and organic ingredients that are intensely moisturizing, totally safe and effective for maintaining healthy skin.  And I absolutely love this lotion. I have to say, after using a couple of sample packets, it ended up being a favorite of mine, and I was quite sad to use the last bit. The Fundamental lotion has been the best lotion for my skin. I could use it before makeup application just fine. It didn't mess with my acne, which was flared up at the time I was using the lotion. If anything, my skin was improving quickly. Even as a light weight moisturizer, the lotion took nice care of my severely dry areas (forehead, cheeks, nose.)

In fact, I used the Fundamental Lotion all over, and was comfortable trying it on my face since it's natural and non-pore clogging. I loved using it from head to toe (feet, legs, arms, everything was covered in this stuff.) It leaves no sticky or greasy residue behind, which meant I didn't have to run around with an even shinier forehead. I love how soft, smooth and supple it made my skin.

Aloe Vera Gel soothes inflamed skin, is a natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal.
Chamomile Extract is an anti-septic and anti-spasmodic that helps heal wounds.
Avocado Oil hydrates and moisturizes.
Coconut Oil intensively moisturizes, is a natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, soothes and protects skin.
Hemp Seed Oil is rich in essential fatty acids, which allows healthy cell production that can improve skin conditions. It prevents premature aging and moisture loss.
Shea Butter provides intense hydration and can minimizes marks and scars.
Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A) reduces wrinkles.
Vitamin E is an antioxidant that protects skin from UV damage. It also may help treat scars.
Grapeseed Extract is an anti-septic and anti-inflammatory that may also be helpful for hair loss. GSE contains antioxidants, which help prevent damage and repair previous damage.

What I Love About Fundamental Natural Skin Lotion

  • Cruelty free. Fundamental Earth Products have been approved by Leaping Bunny & PETA as cruelty free.
  • Vegan
  • Good for all skin types
  • Uses aloe vera to soothe and heal.
  • Certified organic

My Pearl of The Day: Berry Plus (review)

BerryPlus is an aweseom all-natural
laundry detergent. Being natural is pretty dang special, but what makes it real unique is that it's actually made from berries -- soapberries!

BerryPlus is surprisingly an effective, eco-friendly laundry detergent. Its lack of fragrance is a plus to sensitive folks like myself who either have allergies or are migraine prone (that's me!) Or even people who have neither but simply dislike using harmful ingredients like that you find in a lot of the laundry detergents on shelves.

I know some of you are thinking just what I did at first, won't that stain light clothes? Although the liquid does have a red-ish shade to it, it actually doesn't stain.

BerryPlus is made in the USA using imported soap berries.

The berries have actually been used for years in India and Asia as a laundry detergent since the berries turn kind of soapy when added to water and shaken. That's awesome, huh? I guess God really has supplied us with absolutely everything we could ever possibly need (laundry detergent from soap berries! The guy's a genius.)

I'm really excited about this Berry Plus detergent! It's been magnificent to have an opportunity to try it, and it actually works better than I ever could've imagined.

I will just jump right in here. Forgive me if I am all over the place.

BerryPlus comes in a plastic container with a dropper lid, which is oh-so-handy since you can simply squeeze the dropper and add it to your laundry. No scoops or mess from pouring via a lid.

Also, the dropper has mL on it to help with dosing your semi-dirty or extremely dirty laundry.

BerryPlus laundry detergent will take care of a whole 20 loads for ya (less if you have super dirty laundry and use more at once, like I do).

The smaller bottle (the one shown in this post) comes with 55 mL of liquid. It did surprise me at how long a bottle lasts, even with extra-use per load.

BerryPlus does come in other sizes, though. There's the smallest option: 20 loads (the one shown here,) 40 load bottle and 80 load.

Again, BerryPlus is fragrance free and allergen free, so it's a very safe option.

Things I adore about BerryPlus:

The BerryPlus website gives plenty of useful information and answers any question one could have about their product. I also feel that they're a very trustworthy, ethical company with a fantastic quality product.

For starters, it's non-GMO! That's my favorite kind of any product.

They say on their website that their product is equally as effective as the leading brands. I can vouch for that as I have used the BerryPlus for a couple of months now (still have a few loads left before the bottle is empty!) and I would go so far as to say that BerryPlus actually does a better job than any of the regular ol' store-bought stuff I've used. Seriously. I couldn't believe it myself.

I have used nothing but BerryPlus since I got the bottle. I actually prefer it over the other junk from the stores. I still had a lot of it on-hand when the bottle of BerryPlus arrived and I haven't touched any of that stuff since. In fact, I did a load of jeans with BerryPlus today -- works perfectly well.

P.S. You can read BerryPlus' "promises" here. Very awesome things.

I loved the idea of BerryPlus and how the company said it's safe on your clothing (probably even safer than the harsh detergents we're used to), safe on us, our washing machines and the planet. That's fantastic, but I really didn't think Berries would be enough to really, really clean a load of very dirty clothing. It does and it does it magnificently.

As I said, I think it may even do better than the store-bought detergents. I say this because I've noticed my colored clothes looking brighter! Even the dingy whites -- using no stain remover, only BerryPlus -- are looking fabulous and not nearly as dingy and stained up.

That said, BerryPlus is a keeper for everyday laundry use, including heavy, stinky and stained. I've never even had to use the BerryPlus as a pre-treatment (letting it sit) because it takes out stains (coffee, regular crud you get on white clothing) like a charm.

One more thing: You don't have to use softener with it. BerryPlus is said to soften, too. I don't really use softener on my actual t-shirts anyways, so I didn't find it hard to resist adding other softener or anything with Berry Plus. I also didn't notice any difference in the softness of my clothes, but that's not something I ever pay much attention to. They don't feel hard, and I never really felt like the store-bought softener really made clothes any softer anyways. However, my clothes do feel exactly the same after washing with BerryPlus as they did when I'd use softener and regular detergent, so that's a positive.

Oh, guess I lied. There's actually one more thing: I wondered if my clothes would have that loose hand-washed feel to them once I washed without store-bought detergent and only BerryPlus. For some reason, I thought they might not have that just-washed fit to them. Anybody else know what I mean? When you've worn your clothes, especially jeans for a long day, they become loose-ish on you, and once washed again, they have the brand new fit all over again. Anybody follow this or am I the only one who has this happen?

Anyways, Jeans still come out of the washer with that brand-new fit to them. I was happy that BerryPlus really doesn't seem a lot different for my clothes as using regular detergent except the color seems better, there's no fragrance and all that good stuff.

Otherwise, the difference is not noticeable. It's perfectly effective.

All in all, I'm very, very impressed, BerryPlus!

Ingredients (the best part)

  • 95% berry-based (berries + water)
  • 4.5% vegetable glycerin (for stability and added softening)
  • 0.3% olive-leaf extract (to kill bacteria and other junk)
  • 0.1% each of potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate (food-grade preservative to give Berryplus a shelf life)

Instructions: 2 squirts per load. Use another for extra large, dirty loads.

Pre-treat by squirting a few drops onto tough stains and  adding the rest to the washing machine load.

"Don’t be fooled by its size – this small but mighty microdose is perfectly measured to wash a full 30lb load of laundry!"

BerryPlus can be used to do laundry anywhere you typically do laundry -- sink, washing machine, laundromat (it travels easily) and even in the woods, BerryPlus says, which is true. It'd even work there.

Just for good measure, and to try and be a little more helpful to my readers and give more than just "it really cleans clothing well," I've decided to take you guys along as I tried the Berry Plus Laundry Detergent! Now, it's a little tough to show results via photos, so bear with me.

Yea, I really wasn't kidding when I said I made an attempt to really take you readers with me on the journey! I even took a photo as I was adding the BerryPlus. That you see is a full dropper (it won't hold more than what you see), so I added 4 droppers to this load.

What I chose to wash was the dirtiest item I had at the time -- a perfectly dried-muddy comforter. My beloved reversible zebra print comforter that my beloved (although a little less after this mess. Kidding! Kidding) Pookie muddied up after a trip to the creek one morning. Ugh. He sometimes ventures outdoors for a stroll to the neighbors' in the morning (he's friends with their poodle dog, whom I gave them). On the way out there, he has to cross the creek in our backyard and since his legs are about as long as my index finger (he's a wiener), he has to actually walk through the creek to get there.

The creek. It's muddy. So when Pookie returns from his morning stroll (usually with a doggie treat in mouth), he gets in my bed and muddies it up.

Of course he hasn't responded to my scolding him over it. It still happens.

So I decided it was the perfect moment to put the BerryPlus to the test! If you'll notice, the other side of my comforter is white.. The enemy of all pet-owners and in-bed-eaters (I'm both).

Below is my attempt to photograph a close-up of  Pookie's muddy spot:

Take note of all the cat hair.

And these are the after pictures. I washed the comforter using only the BerryPlus. Not a single stain remover, and look how white that baby is! Yes, it was white to begin with, but had a lot of crud, including loads of pet hair on it.

The black side that was previously muddy and covered with Fuzz's hair:

I tried my best at getting the full comforter in the photo so you guys could really see it all. Hope this works. Of course there's a hair or two on it (one is mine. What can I say, I shed too!), but all very wonderful considering how bad my pets and I shed. I was surprised it came out with only a few little new hairs on it. This is unusual.

Oh, and of course the comforter was not the only thing to get cleaned after that muddy disaster:

This is Pookie (for those of you who haven't yet met him) He's all clean and brand new after the mud journey, laying wrapped in a towel on the freshly cleaned and applied zebra print bed-spread. Thanks, BerryPlus!

Poor little guy was cold, and the wet towel had to go, so my sweetheart loaned Pookie his own jacket to warm up in.

And he supplied him with a cozy pillow, too!

Oh, and I did not use BerryPlus to wash Pookie, just so you know. I figured I might should clarify since I said he got cleaned, too. Nope. We use a natural coconut oil soap on him, but now that I think about it, BerryPlus might would be safe on pets... Nevermind. That could be something I shouldn't say (disclaimer will be at bottom!)
