Waterproof High Speed Memory Card by Leef Pro

16 GB Leef Pro Ultra High Speed Memory Card

16 gigabyte version of the Leef Pro Ultra High Speed Memory Card, which comes with an adapter (making me a very happy girl!) I love an everything-in-one type of package.

Leef Memory Card also comes in a 32 or 64 GB.

"The technical advancements used in Leef Pro cards support recording of full HD video and real-time broadcasts from mobile phones or digital cameras. Leef Pro cards use an increased clock speed of 100MHz, four times faster than standard cards. This allows the cards to operate at up to 45MB per second in 4-bit transfer mode, which is found on many new devices."

What I love about Leef Pro Ultra High Speed Memory Card -- aside from the awesome fact that it's a water and shock-proof memory card --is that I can use it in my Canon Powershot SX500 IS. The memory card by Leef is optimized for HD videos and photos, which allows my camera (and phone, too) to produce high quality content. I can also remove the tiny memory card and use it alone in my phone either for extra storage (for even more music and photos) or transfer the stored data to my laptop, and all my devices. Very, very cool!

I literally noticed a difference in the images and image quality once I had the Ultra High Speed Memory Card by Leef inside my camera. The horrible lighting in my bedroom usually causes an image taken with flash to be way too washed out, and without flash, super dark and sometimes grainy. If you check out my review on the Leef Ice, you'll notice some grain-iness in a couple images. But the review of the Micro USB Connector & SD Reader will show much clearer images of the device held in my hand (I was using the Leef Memory Card to take the images where I'm holding the little device I put on that review.)  Note: I didn't use Leef's product to take the first images shown in the review because it stupidly didn't even occur to me to use it right away.

Here are some recent photos I took using the High Speed Memory Card, in case you're interested:
The image here of my reptile product came out more clear and stable than the ones I'd taken minutes before using my old card. So it does appear that the Leef card has improved the quality of my images some.

The adapter that comes included with Leef Pro microSD card is also compatible with their microSD Reader for Androids, Leef Access. This means you can use this tiny memory card inside the Leef Access too.

System requirements for the Leef Pro: Windows® 8, Windows® 7, Windows® XP (SP3), Windows Vista® (SP1, SP2), Windows 2000®, Apple® Mac OS X or later.

Here's a cool video about Leef's High Speed Memory Card:

Like the other Leef products I've been ravin' about, this too has a 5-year warranty.

Other specs include:
Operating Temperature: -25°C ~ +85°C
Storage Temperature: -25°C ~ +85°C

Leef's 3.0 USB Flash Drive "Ice" is Rave-Worthy

You'd think a product as simple as an SD card wouldn't be excitement-worthy, but I've been totally impressed by Leef products. The features alone are quite amazing, and the durability -- like no other, which is the main reason I found myself enthralled by their products, especially the Copper Edition line. With a 5-year limited warranty on their products, and the water-proof and dust-proof products, Leef is a whole 'nother notch above the rest.

And here is the Ice USB 3.0 Flash Drive, from Leef's Copper line which I'll still be raving about well into next year.

Ice -- 16 GB, comes in a 32 GB as well.

The description for Leef's USB 3.0 Ice Flash Drive is so eloquently put that I figured I'd let it do the talking first:

"For over 10,000 years, copper has added quality and prestige to everything it touches. Leef Ice 3.0 combines the beauty of copper  and a crystal-like methacrylic resin to add Leef's signature "Ice” feature.
"

Ice USB 3.0 Flash Drive is part of Leef's Copper Edition line, and built with their "PrimeGrade Memory."  I have to admit, it's extremely pleasing, aesthetically and for some odd reason that I could never explain, feels really awesome in my hand... or pocket... And it even looks cool sticking out of the side of my laptop all lit up with its crystal looking self. It's like decor for my plain charcoal colored Sony Vaio.

That gorgeous clear end and the way that beautiful cap slides shut over the USB part, protecting it from my pocket lint. It's just so cute & I can't believe I am saying these things about an electronic. Never thought I'd find a flash drive attractive, or cool to the touch, but wow this baby sure is. Since I've already shamefully admitted that, I'll just say this  too: the packaging is even attractive.

The shiny copper colored text and  the cool way Leef put its very own scientific box thingy in the lower corner is just too neat.

An awesome video about the product:

Leef Access Micro USB Connector and MiscoSD Reader (For Android)

The Leef Access is a micro USB connector and a microSD reader all in one, which is compatible with loads of Android devices. This fella is handy because it expands your device's memory capacity, allows you to share photos, transfer music between different devices. It also allows you to "enjoy playback of movies from a microSD card to your Android tablets and phones."

I absolutely love this handy, all-in-one little device because I can transfer almost any data to virtually every device I own. I can go back and forth between my phone and even share pictures from my phone to B's phone, or my mom's and vice versa. I love being able to get everyone's pictures on my own devices. Especially since I always get too excited to stop and take photos when something special is going on. So it's my mom and B who end up with the great pictures, and I'm left wishing I'd have taken them.

Now I can just snag theirs by sticking the Leef Access into their device, saving their photos/videos to it, then stickin' back in mine. A simple way to jack their photos once and for all.

Here's a pretty awesome video about Leef Access, straight from Leef's website:

You can see a list of devices compatible with the Leef Access here

Access requires Jelly Bean 4.1 or higher and an enabled USB OTG system.

System requirements for the Leef Access are:  Windows® 8, Windows® 7, Windows® XP (SP3), Windows Vista® (SP1, SP2), Windows 2000®, Apple® Mac OS X or later

To use Leef Access with a memory card, you simply slide the tiny memory card into the back slot, until it clicks in place. Then you can stick the USB end into an Android device. Otherwise, you simply stick the USB into the port for USBs on your computer, phone or wherever else. Access comes in 16, 32 and 64 GB. I love this tiny little thing's cool features.

In just this one itty bitty package, you have a Micro USB (for Android devices), a MicroSD reader and a MicroSD storage slot, which I thought was so cool. The two slots (the one for the memory card, and the storage slot) are located on top of each other, so they're easy to access.

Leef Access Micro SD Reader/USB Connecter's Cool Specs

-Superior case-compatible microUSB 2.0 connector

-Expands the memory capacity of your Android phone or tablet.
-Waterproof and dust-proof -Includes a storage slot for an extra microSD card and LED indicator. The cool LED feature, located on the side of the device, and comes on to indicate it's in use.

- Waterproof and dust-proof
- Operating Temperature: -25°C ~ +85°C
Storage Temperature: -25°C ~ +85°C

 - Warranty 5-year limited warranty
($9.99)

How to Disable "Edge Swipe" in Sony Vaio Windows 8

I have been on the verge of crying (okay, I have been past the verge) thanks to freaking Sony Vaio and stupid Windows 8, so I am posting the answer  to "how to turn off that stupid, stupid "edge swipe" BS for poor people who end up with not only the weirdo Windows 8, but a Sony Vaio laptop like me.

Thanks to one user who shared this "fix" on a Sony forum, mine's fixed. I'm re-posting their answer so more people can hopefully come across it -- if you have tried the option listed on every other site saying go to "PC Settings," only you don't have a "PC Settings" option.

For Windows 8, non-Sony Vaio, it's pretty simple to disable it, but Sony Vaio laptops make it damn near impossible. So what happens is, anytime you swipe your mouse... pad from the left, you end up off the screen you were on and in a totally different tab.

This makes it IMPOSSIBLE to do anything as you spend so much time trying to get back to the tab you were on. It has literally put me through hell for days now. So, unable to do any work, I dug in my heels for the solution. I found ONE place with an answer, so I'm sharing it for other people. I felt like I had to share it so hopefully other people don't have to spend as much time as I have landing on the answers that only work for every single other computer besides a Sony Vaio, apparently.

So, if you've had the same issue and Googled the fix for it, then you found hundreds of suggestions saying to go to "PC Settings." If you're lucky, 2-4 more clicks and you're disabled. If you're like me, there's no such thing as "PC Settings." So, for a Sony Vaio, you go to ->input device -> under touchpad operations go to details. Then uncheck "Switch apps."

Then, suddenly you'll notice that your Sony Vaio does have a "PC Settings" option when you click on settings tab! It's amazing, really and I swear that Sony did this to make people infuriated! No person would want their tabs switching like madness every time they touched the mouse pad.

Thanks, Sony, for making life ten times harder when people shell out $900 to your sorry behinds! But, now, thanks to the one person who posted the answer to this, I am able to use my laptop! Yippeee.

I've had it for 3 days and this is the first actual experience I've got to really have with it. I'm still extremely, extremely pissed though. Oh, here's the site and user you can thank for this awesome, life-saving information:

So, feel free to shower the user Rashidmk who posted this fix on the Sony Forum (the one I linked to in this post, above) with gifts and kind thank-you's!

Ila Personal Security Alarm Key Ring Devices

Ila Security

This one is the Ila Dusk Personal Alarm.

                           Specs:
  • Weight: 60gm net product weight with battery
  • Size: L80(mm) X W38(mm) X H19(mm)
  • Battery life: 3 years 4 x LR43 alkaline button cells (non replaceable)
  • Volume: 130dB
  • Usage: Pull chain and replace
  • Testing: CE
  • INFO: Comes with clasp to attach to handbags
Ila Alarms is a company that's created fashionable, easily accessible key chain alarms that can be clipped on your key ring or hung on your purse strap. After activating, if you happen to feel you're in trouble or are approached by an attacker, you simply pull the chain hanging from the Dusk and shown in the photos above. Once the chain is pulled from the little device, it emits an ear-piercing, awful sound that's likely to scare away the possible attacker (and possibly even cougars, tigers and bears! Lol). Ila Alarm systems are loud. Loud. Loud! It's even recommended to use with caution because the loud noise can possibly cause ear damage!

To stop the sound, you simply put the chain back in place via the pin. It just slides right in. However, if you happen to lose the chain it'll stop sounding in 10 minutes.

The sound is supposed to be a female yelling. It does sound like that a little. It will do what it's intended to: throw a would-be attacker off guard and send him running. Such a loud noise makes it hard to even think, especially when you are not expecting it. So if you had someone try and grab your purse or you, pulling the chain and activating the sound is definitely going to make them want to run.

My photos above look a little rough due to Blogger's image loader -- it causes some of my photos to appear more unclear for some reason, but the below ones are a bit better.

Dusk, the alarm above is a rectangular shape with pastel blue coloring and a lovely design of what looks like a Japanese cherry blossom tree/bush. It's stylish, and isn't like a bottle of pepper spray hanging off your purse or key rings. The sound will be unpleasant if you ever do need it, but it's a safer alternative to pepper spray because you can't accidentally spray your own eyes with this.

Every female should have an Ila Alarm! I think it'd be good for children too such as those who walk home alone or something, but it wouldn't be great to give one to a small child that would use it for play. It should not be used for play.

My partner and I did want to test the loudness though for the sake of knowing and so I'd be able to tell you just how loud this is. It is loud! It's like screaming in my head and is loud enough to cause a headache.

What we did to test it: I had him drive down to the end of my road, which is less than half a mile away. It takes a total of 20-something seconds to leave my driveway and make it to the very end of my road. He got out at the end while I stood on my porch, just to see how far the sound would carry.

I was unable to hear it from such a long distance, but if you're in a place where there's people anywhere near, this will draw attention and it's likely someone would hear it and come to help.

However, the main purpose is to scare away your possible attacker. It would definitely throw them off, a sudden ear-piercing scream like that.

We also activated it while driving down my partner's father's long driveway --his idea! And holy dangit did I feel like jumping out of that moving vehicle! He held it out the window and it was still horrifically loud.

 Ila Pebble

  • Weight: with batteries 21.3g
  • Size: L48(mm) X W38(mm) X H18(mm)
  • Battery life: 3 years, non replaceable
  • Volume: 130dB
  • Usage: Push on central button and release the cap on top for constant activation, replace cap to switch off
  • Info: Compact plastic casing; key chain attached
  • Testing: CE

Above is photos of the Pebble. It's an alarm as well only it looks different than the Dusk version.

Pebble does the same thing Dusk does. Instead of having a chain to pull though, you jerk the key chain to remove the top little portion, then press the middle button located on the front. It's handy, and you don't have the risk of accidentally pressing the button since you need to pull the top off first.

Plus, look how cute they are! Ila also has a few other really fantastic alarm products. One is a door stop thingy. It slides under the door, like those wedges that hold a door open, but there's a button on it, so that if an intruder tried opening your door, you get the alarm! I actually talked about getting one of those as well because I have a thief family member who literally robs the heck out of me any time it's possible. I packed away almost every single thing I own -- entire wardrobe, beauty/skincare products, electronics, jewelry, etc-- for my vacation 2 months ago and still came back robbed!

So if others have thieves they deal with regularly, this is a perfect option, especially if it's family who aren't going to pull a gun on you, but are a real nuisance with their stealing.

Ila also has a thing that clips onto the table and holds your purse, but it has an alarm on it too for other handy purposes.

What I love so much about the little key chain alarms is how handy they are. I keep mine on the outside of my purse, hanging so it's ready if ever needed. My mom works in a rough area, and her job is one that tends to attract thugs. Unfortunately, she has been robbed at gun point 3 times -- twice at her current center and once at her last center, same job just different store locations. I was ecstatic to have been introduced to Ila because I like to have something for safety, but also because my mom truly is at risk every single day, so her having one of these alarms will make the entire family feel safer, and her!

It's very unlikely that a person would ever have a chance to snatch their cell phones and dial 911 when suddenly approached by an attacker. But the Ila Alarms only take one swift and simple movement. Very convenient. I highly recommend these Ila Alarms to everyone. Every. One. It's much nicer to have something for security just in case. A knife was my option for a few years, but it's not a realistic way to have real security. I have pepper spray too, but there's the risk of accidentally spraying myself, or not even reaching the attacker's eyeballs and ending up doing myself more harm than anything. Not to mention, I sprayed my hand with the pepper spray and hardly had pain. I know it'd hurt in your eyes, but Ila Alarms are such a better option.

TOUCH SCREEN-PANTECH PURSUIT

I wasn't very familiar with touch screen until the past month. I had been using an LG Neon from at&t which was an amazing phone. I loved it. But, it was time for a new one.

At the store, they didn't have a single phone that wasn't touch screen! I ended up getting a Pantech Pursuit. I love the phone and all but the touchscreen was giving me serious problems. It seems to be more of a pain than anything. I took it back after a few days & asked to trade it for something a little more "simple." After all, I don't use the internet from my phone for  different reasons.

1. I have bad eyes & can't see from the small screen.
2. I have internet at home so why pay extra just to have it on my phone?
3. I really only use texting & calling & the MP3 player for music.

The guy told me that the phone I had already purchased was about as simple as these new phones get. I was like "Some people don't want to change every time technology decides to come up with something new." He agreed. He said he hated touch screen as well.

Also, I'm one of those who like to keep things the same. I don't "upgrade" unless it's absolutely neccessary. So, I went back home with the same phone that my boyfriend paid a whopping $135 for. I was ok with that but still a little disappointed. I thought that was too pricey. lol Yea, I'm a tight wad. lol

I like the phone but I can't seem to get with the program when it comes to new technology. I'm a late bloomer I guess. I've gotten a little better with touch screen but by the time I've finally gotten use to it I bet something new will be out. I think I will end up loving the phone if I can get better at it. I do absolutely LOVE the camera. It takes great pics!

However, I was a little overwhelmed with all of the extras that came with it. It has a notepad, and paint just like the one on computers! I probably won't ever use those things but I guess it's cool.
