How to Disable "Edge Swipe" in Sony Vaio Windows 8

I have been on the verge of crying (okay, I have been past the verge) thanks to freaking Sony Vaio and stupid Windows 8, so I am posting the answer  to "how to turn off that stupid, stupid "edge swipe" BS for poor people who end up with not only the weirdo Windows 8, but a Sony Vaio laptop like me.

Thanks to one user who shared this "fix" on a Sony forum, mine's fixed. I'm re-posting their answer so more people can hopefully come across it -- if you have tried the option listed on every other site saying go to "PC Settings," only you don't have a "PC Settings" option.

For Windows 8, non-Sony Vaio, it's pretty simple to disable it, but Sony Vaio laptops make it damn near impossible. So what happens is, anytime you swipe your mouse... pad from the left, you end up off the screen you were on and in a totally different tab.

This makes it IMPOSSIBLE to do anything as you spend so much time trying to get back to the tab you were on. It has literally put me through hell for days now. So, unable to do any work, I dug in my heels for the solution. I found ONE place with an answer, so I'm sharing it for other people. I felt like I had to share it so hopefully other people don't have to spend as much time as I have landing on the answers that only work for every single other computer besides a Sony Vaio, apparently.

So, if you've had the same issue and Googled the fix for it, then you found hundreds of suggestions saying to go to "PC Settings." If you're lucky, 2-4 more clicks and you're disabled. If you're like me, there's no such thing as "PC Settings." So, for a Sony Vaio, you go to ->input device -> under touchpad operations go to details. Then uncheck "Switch apps."

Then, suddenly you'll notice that your Sony Vaio does have a "PC Settings" option when you click on settings tab! It's amazing, really and I swear that Sony did this to make people infuriated! No person would want their tabs switching like madness every time they touched the mouse pad.

Thanks, Sony, for making life ten times harder when people shell out $900 to your sorry behinds! But, now, thanks to the one person who posted the answer to this, I am able to use my laptop! Yippeee.

I've had it for 3 days and this is the first actual experience I've got to really have with it. I'm still extremely, extremely pissed though. Oh, here's the site and user you can thank for this awesome, life-saving information:

So, feel free to shower the user Rashidmk who posted this fix on the Sony Forum (the one I linked to in this post, above) with gifts and kind thank-you's!
