Deep Blues Blend-Muddy Waters Coffee. Wake Up Your Soul

The photo above is a lovely collection of Coffee from Muddy Waters, a company that sells organic coffee. "To be certified organic this means that the crop’s soil and plants must be inspected by an independent organic certifying body, to be free of pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and other potentially harmful chemicals for at least three years time. Muddy Waters Coffee Company maintains a large inventory of organic coffees.

Our Philosophy

"Muddy Waters Coffee Company takes the time to choose only the highest-quality arabica organic coffees that are sustainable, shade-grown, and conservation certified. We roast our own coffee daily, ensuring quality and freshness. We have gained awards for our coffee, as well as accolades from such coffee notables as Kenneth Davids, coffee guru, authority, and author of several books on the subject of coffee."

For more information about Muddy Waters and their coffees, go here.  They've provided a great deal of information on their coffee and what you can expect. A very respectful, fine, high quality brand!

"Our most popular blend, the Deep Blues Blend was inspired by legendary bluesman Muddy Waters and combines the full body and earthy flavor of Sumatra with the spice and cocoa accents of Peru to full complementation. This blend is full bodied and deep flavored but maintains a sweet undertone. An ideal fusion of flavor thoughtfully created to “Wake up your soul.”

As of earlier today, I've been filling my coffee cup with Muddy Waters' Deep Blue Blend of Organic Dark Roast Coffee. I have to say, this is some fantastic coffee! Move over Starbuck's! This is the kind of stuff us coffee lovers (coffee snobs?) drool over.

When the coffee arrived,--I had been anticipating the taste-- I realized my coffee maker was broken! I had been doing the instant stuff. I couldn't wait so first I began an experiment in a pot of boiling water, which didn't quite do this lovely, rich coffee justice so I sent my mom out to buy a new coffee maker! Much, much better.

                                                          TASTE
This was our first time trying Muddy Waters' coffee, but I had seen and heard about their blends and the fabulous variety so I was overly excited. Reading it and smelling the coffee, I had no doubt that it was going to rock. My mom, sister, boyfriend and dad sat staring into the coffee machine waiting. My dad and boyfriend drink it black, no creamer, nothing. I however, like a little sweetness. I add a bit of creamer or milk to mine. This particular blend doesn't even need creamer. It tastes great alone. I tend to like my coffee cold so after trying it hot, I stuck mine in the freezer for a while to let it cool. Fabulous! I could really taste the "earthy" flavor that way.

The Deep Blues Blend tastes exactly how it is described; earthy, rich. There's a tiny hint of maple to me. Nobody else seemed to notice that so it could be that mine was cold.

This particular blend is unique and bold with an incredibly rich taste and smell. Talk about the house smelling like heaven! It has that deep richness to it, unlike what you taste in a cup from Starbuck's or Mcdonald's. You also won't experience the funk-aftertaste that sometimes occurs in coffee. I don't think I've had coffee that didn't leave me with a need to brush my tongue afterwards. Muddy Waters coffee doesn't leave you with the bitter tongue.

As you may have seen in the photos, at the top of the coffee bag, it says "wake up your senses." That was a perfect way to put it. This rich, earthy blend does exactly that. This had us going! I don't know what about this coffee has that extra kick, but it woke us right up-- I didn't think my Lovie would ever stop talking! Our normal coffee hasn't perked us up like that since we first used it. There's something special about this stuff, for sure.

To sum it up, this is a high quality, fresh, delicious coffee. The kind I like to smell and drink every single day. "Fair trade means you are truly getting your money's worth, and after tasting this, I'm positive that Muddy Waters offers nothing but the best. I am impressed! A 10 star coffee, no doubt!

The Deep Blues Blend is available in bean or ground. Be sure to check out all the intriguing blends Muddy Waters has to offer! They even have one called Planned Parenthood. That has me interested! In the meantime, I'll be trying the other coffees and reporting back! I can't wait to try the others. And if you're as interested in Muddy Waters as I am, feel free to go read their brief history and oh so interesting information available here

Montagne Jeunesse - Passion Fruit and Pomegranate

Photobucket

                     PASSION PEEL OFF FACIAL MASK
Deep cleansing facial mask by Montagne Juenesse

What a great sounding and looking mask, huh? I love the color and the ease of the peel off masks. While the muds and cream masks aren't exactly messy, the peel-offs are even more a breeze, especially if you're in a real hurry!

There's nothing to clean up, you simply apply and peel off. Some tiny pieces can get stuck, but if you're careful to lift all the edges first and then start peeling, you'll get the majority off in one quick step. If something does get left behind, you just pluck it right off!

TIP: Applying a thick layer of the Passion Peel off mask will make peeling off much easier and leave less bits behind.

With pomegranate and passion flower (sounds beautiful!) this mask peels off dead skin revealing fresh, new and bright skin. No moisturizers or thick make-ups needed after one of these!

This isn't like the creamy, thick masks. The peel-off is lighter and thin, but just as effective. It's really entertaining to peel it off and see what it pulls away. We actually enjoy this more than we probably should. Lol. The Passion Flower Mask cleanses and purifies and protects the skin. Awesome!

This mask is suitable for T-zone, normal and dry skin, but I think it would be great for all skin types. Some of the amazing ingredients are Pulped pomegranate, Passion flower, Raspberry, Grape, Cranberry and Vitamin E and anti oxidants. Those sound so delicious to me! Sounds like it'd make a wonderful drink.

Unlike the muds, you only need to apply a thin layer of this mask to a clean face. Applying a tad bit extra will make peeling off easier. The mask dries in 15-26 minutes, in my experience and my skin feels and looks so glowingly lovely afterward. I'll usually save the muds and creams for night time (wouldn't want to do it during the day and have the kids come home terrified that I'm bright blue! Lol) But this subtle purple peel off is something I like to use while getting the house cleaned and before leaving. Then I leave with a fresh glow, not one that's been slept on! The results are great and my few scars have appeared less noticeable lately.

This mask contains some awesome ingredients including the healing Aloe! As the product page states, Passion Flower and Pomegranate are rich in potassium and Vitamin C. Very nice!

Like all the masks, this one too is Nut derivative and paraben free.

Don't forget Montagne Jeunesse offers more than just facial masks. In earlier posts, I've listed many of their other wonderful products. Keep in mind they have both male and female products! & You know I ain't gonna let you forget the outstanding prices!

Montagne Jeunesse Clean-Up Mud for the face

DEEP CLEANSING CLEAN UP MUD WITH ALOE JUICE FOR BLEMISH PRONE SKIN FROM MONTAGNE JEUNESSE -

Photobucket

The mud has a blend of Aloe Vera, Willow, Rosemary and Witch Hazel to help clear blemishes and problem areas. The ingredients included in this product are great for acne and blemishes since they calm inflammation and redness. I'm a huge Aloe Vera fan. Aloe can work wonders! Rosemary Oil is an ingredient in this mask. Rosemary Leaf Oil helps tone skin and removes dryness. The mask also contains Will bark extract which is good for stimulating skin and cell growth. It can help with clogged pores, irritation and breakouts/blemishes.

The Montagne Jeunesse facial masks are so awesome and really fun to use. Strange, but true!

Right now, I'm letting the Clean Up Mud dry on my face. It's a thick and very rich mud and I must say, this mask means business! I can smell a strong medicated-like scent similar to a lot of medicated facial products for acne. It reminds me of the way the Stridex pads smell.

When  first started appyling I expected this Clean Up Mud to burn and probably cause my eyes to water like crazy, but besides a tingly cool sensation, I've not had any irritation.

I chose to apply a thick layer, to me it seems with the muds, the thicker you apply, the deeper they clean. That's just my assumption though. It's an off-white color and dries white too. I can already tell it's a very cleansing mud.

As it dries you feel your face kind of tighten and freeze in place just like with any mud, but it does a wonderful job of cleansing and diminishing pores.

After rinsing which was only minutes ago, my face was very smooth, the large cyst like bump from a bad facial powder was far less swollen and not as red. Things are looking great and I'm more than happy to report that it did not dry out my skin. It looks nice, smooth and youthful.

Also, as I cleaned the mud off I checked my skin closely in the mirror and realized it had pulled everything from my pores including blackheads! This is by far the best thing I've ever used for blackheads! It clears every clogged pore and leaves nothing behind. I was actually somewhat

shocked to see everything so clean! It left my face smoother than anything ever has. My nose is where I tend to get blackheads. While they aren't extremely bad or noticeable, I know they're there and they can be seen in sunlight or harsh lighting and I've found nothing to unclog them.

I've used the expensive strips that pull the stuff right out of your pores and those are neat, but they never made much of a difference for me. I absolutely love the results of the Clean Up Mud and it'll certainly be on my beauty shelf for good. I think this one has made it to my favorite's list.
INGREDIENTS:
Aqua, Kaolin, Hamamelis virginian water, Glycerin, Illite, Bentonite, Magnesium aluminum silicate, Sea salt, Salix nigra (Willow) bark extract, Glucose, Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) leaf oil, Xanthum gum, Panax ginseng root extract, Oenothera biennis (Evening primrose) flower extract, Citric acid, Lactoperoxidase, Glucose Oxidase, Limonene Allantoin,
Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Camellia sinensis leaf extract.

This Deep Cleansing Clean-Up Mud mask is extremely cleansing and filled with ingredients that are good for healing, renewing skin, cell growth, and rejuvenating, etc.

The mask is a soft and creamy texture. To use, apply evenly with a thick layer of the mask all over face (neck too if you want) avoiding the eyes and mouth. I've found that all the Montagne Jeunesse mask packets contain enough product for 2 uses, except for the peel off masks since they tend to dry out after opened. When I open a packet of one of the masks, I use what I need and place the packet in a plastic baggy for my next use. In some cases I even have enough left over for a third (light) use! These are all amazing masks with wonderfully ingredients. My skin's looking great and softer than ever!

The mask has a thick consistency, not runny. This makes it easy to wear on the face while doing other activities without worrying with a mess. You can wipe it with a wash cloth and rinse with cool water to close up  the pores after it's dried on your face. I keep it on for a good 20 minutes while cleaning house, doing homework with the kids or while I'm shaving in the bath. This gives it time to dry well then I rinse it off in the shower. To achieve best results, wash your face before using the mask. However, I don't always do that and they still work wonderfully.

This particular mask (Clean Up Mud) is made for blemish prone skin. It also helps with redness and irritations. I've tried a mud mask in the past with dead sea ingredients and every time I used it it set my face on fire! I'm not kidding. Each time I used it it would burn so badly that tears would be streaming from my face! It was really bad. I kept using it hoping I'd get used to it until one day it burned my skin leaving nasty blisters on my face. I'm not sure if I'm the only person who's experienced this type of reaction with mud masks, but just in case, I wanted to mention that the Montagne Juenesse masks have never given me that kind of issue. I avoided all masks for years after the burns, but I'm glad I've given these a shot. I usually get a cooling sensation with most of them, but nothing that's bothersome or painful. I've certainly never had blistered skin from these. I should also mention, if you have any skin allergies you should ALWAYS check the ingredients list before use. This goes for all skin care products. Just to be safe. I've listed all the ingredients in the mask above.

The Montagne masks are a great addition to your 'alone time'. Apply on the face and while it's drying you can always read a book to relax. Gives you a good excuse to get some alone time!

Check out Montagne Jeunesse online! They have facial products for both men and women and let me just say, what purr-fect prices!
