Organic Fundamental Face Cream from Earth Turns *Product Review*

Recently, I have had the amazing opportunity to try a few products available at Earth Turns, which happens to be a friendly company that carries a variety of high quality products like supplements and natural/herbal products, and even a beauty department. All of the products Earth Turns carry are manufactured under Current Good Manufacturing Process Standards and are natural, safe and effective. At this moment, I've been enjoying the pleasure of using a product from there called the Fundamental Face Cream.

Before I get into the review for the Fundamental Face Cream (which I'm loving, by the way), I wanted to take a second to include that Earth Turns has an A+ BBB rating, and at the moment, they're doing free shipping for  US orders! You really can't beat free shipping these days.

What Makes The Fundamental Face Cream so Fantastic
The Fundamental Face Cream is 100% natural and contains organic ingredients, nutrients and antioxidants that fight wrinkles and other signs of aging. This is one of the most important things I look for in a face cream -- it absolutely must moisturize my skin well without leaving too much residue behind, without interfering with any makeup application and lastly, it must have some type of anti-aging properties. Brownie points because it contains my all-time favorite ingredient & remedy for anything -- Aloe vera.

The Fundamental Face Cream does everyone of those things in the most rich & creamy way! I really adore the texture and consistency of this cream. It makes applying it to my skin a real pleasure. I enjoy seeing it almost melt into my skin instantly, like butter and leave a nice, supple appearance behind.

Aloe vera soothes inflamed skin, promotes healing and is a natural anti-bacterial.

Organic Cacao Seed and Shea butter provide intense hydration and Cacao Seed butter protects and conditions skin. Shea butter has antioxidant properties, can reduce scars and other marks. It contains Vitamins A & E, and can help reduce UV radiation damage.

Organic Soy Lecithin an emulsifier that promotes moisturization.

Organic Rice Bran Extract contains antioxidants, is an anti-inflammatory that prevents aging.

Organic Tremella Mushroom is rich in Vitamin D, can help fill in places where wrinkles form, and improves skin complexion and overall appearance by promoting Hyaluronic Acid production in skin. Moisturizing.

Organic Pomegranate Oil an antioxidant that supports cell function and regeneration. It can improve skin's texture and might help with hyperpigmentation.

Organic Grape seed Oil is an anti-inflammatory that soothes skin. GSE contains antioxidants -- which help prevent damage and repair previous damage,  -- rich in Vitamins C, D, E, and Beta Carotene and essential fatty acids. This ingredient can help minimize scars, prevents acne and definitely prevents aging signs, as it helps restore collagen. It can even help with excessively oily skin by balancing it.

Organic Marshmallow Root Extract helps skin regenerate from damage, helps reduce inflammation.

More Reasons I Love The Fundamental Face Cream

  • Free of PEG's, BHA, Mineral Oil and Petrolatum
  • Completely safe & impressively effective.
  • Makes my skin appear plump, healthy and clear
  • Doesn't interfere with my makeup application
  • Hydration is one of a kind with this Face Cream.
  • Feels silky and velvety, goes on without sticky or greasy residue left over.

Fundamental Chemical-Free Organic Shampoo Review

I've just had the lovely opportunity to try a few products that are available at Earth Turns, who happen to be a very friendly company that carries a variety of really amazing quality products like supplements and natural or herbal products, and even a beauty department. All of the products Earth Turns carry are manufactured under Current Good Manufacturing Process Standards and are natural, safe and effective. I've recently been trying various samples of their product (like the "Relax Already that I recently reviewed) and this new, chemical-free shampoo.

Before I get into the review for this interesting shampoo, I wanted to take a second to include that Earth Turns has an A+ BBB rating, and at the moment, they're doing free shipping for  US orders! You really can't beat free shipping these days.

Fundamental Shampoo is a chemical & SLS-free shampoo with organic ingredients designed to restore hair's shine and body.

Obviously, as with any natural shampoo, you're going to experience little to no lather. This sometimes means you feel the need to use more product than normal, as I do, so when I dumped an entire hand-full of shampoo in my hair, I was shocked to learn that with the Fundamental Shampoo, that was not necessary! The stuff actually lathers as good as any typical shampoo! So, I kicked myself for wasting so much.

Something I love about Fundamental Shampoo is my hair always smells, feels and looks totally clean, even though I didn't use sulfates to clean it.  The shampoo has a minty scent that does not stay in hair.

I once thought that natural shampoos that did not contain some sort of harsh sulfate couldn't truly clean my hair. I think we've all been kind of brainwashed as to what the real definition of clean is. It seems we've been thinking that "clean" means stripping all of our skin and hair of anything and everything. If any little natural oil was leftover (which cannot be seen when you first wash the hair with Fundamental Shampoo) is considered dirty.

In fact, my hair feels, looks and smells just as clean as when I use the average drug-store shampoo.

Another plus is that the scent of the Fundamental Shampoo is "acceptable" by either gender (male or female.)

After using the Fundamental Shampoo, my hair was different in texture and appearance. It had more fluff/volume than it normally does, which can be a great thing when hair is flat.

My ends, while they appeared a lot fuller than normal (plus!), they felt a tiny bit drier than they do when I use a good leave-in conditioner, but I made sure to use my leave-in the next night when washing my hair with Fundamental Shampoo  & that helped my ends a lot. I normally always use the leave-in since my ends have some damage, but I skipped when I used the shampoo for the first time because I wanted to be sure I could get the best idea of how this shampoo does.

I do want to make it clear that I love this shampoo! I really do. My hair actually felt cleaner than it does with other shampoos, and I have been able to skip a day between washes (I normally do that) without my hair looking oily at all the last day. Very impressive.

Benefits of the Ingredients in Fundamental Shampoo
With ingredients like saponified olive oil and coconut oil, the Fundamental Shampoo is nicely moisturizing for hair, and will help with damage and promote shine.

Ginger extract is a natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, which makes it great for sensitive skin. Ginger extract may also be a useful remedy for hair loss and can make the hair stronger & healthier. Ginger plus olive oil makes a great dandruff remedy, so since the Fundamental Shampoo contains both, it'll be useful for that too.

Honey, a natural anti-bacterial is an all-around amazing ingredient for health in general, which is why I try to consume pure, raw honey at least 5 times a week, daily when I can. As for hair, though, honey may be useful for preventing hair loss since it helps hair to retain moisture, and it's conditioning. It also makes hair shiny.

Comfrey Root Extract is an anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory, too. It also prevents dryness, is full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, and may stimulate hair growth. The plant protein Mucilage in Comfrey is a foaming agent, which gives the Fundamental Shampoo a bit of sudsy-ness, it also softens hair.

Grape Seed Extract is an anti-septic and anti-inflammatory that may also be helpful for hair loss. GSE contains antioxidants, which help prevent damage and repair previous damage.

Rosemary Extract, an anti-microbial and anti-fungal with some scientific evidence showing that Rosemary oil may be able to help with hair growth. Rosemary extract will help soothe any scalp irritation and keep it clean while also preventing dandruff

Burdock Root Extract helps promote healthy scalp and hair. The Vitamin A, Mucilage and essential fatty acid content in Burdock helps nourish and strengthen skin and hair. It can also provide relief from itchy, inflamed and dry scalp problems.

What I Love About the Fundamental Shampoo:

  • Cruelty Free. Fundamental Earth products have been approved by Leaping Bunny & PETA as cruelty free products.
  •  The shampoo contains organic ingredients and vitamins.
  •  Is nourishing to hair
  • Won't damage hair at all as it's free of toxic chemicals, sulfates, parabens, etc.
  • Maintains hair's pH balance.
  • Doesn't dry out scalp

I can't say that I would actually go so far as to totally switch to this shampoo at this moment in my life. Mostly just because at $11 something for a full sized bottle, considering how much shampoo my hair uses, it just wouldn't be affordable right now. However, I have checked around and it appears that it's as much as $5 elsewhere online, so I certainly cannot complain about the $11 price for it at Earth Turns, especially with free shipping on top of it. I would certainly jump all over that offer when my usual budget allows just a bit extra spending, though.

ResVitale Collagen Renew with Vitamin C

Today is a good one because we get to talk about two things I enjoy on a daily basis -- health and anti-aging.

I've had the lovely opportunity to try the incredibly designed Collagen Renew with Vitamin C (thanks, ResVitale!) and I feel excited to share the results and information about ResVitale's new Collagen skincare supplement with ya'll!

A lot of you have emailed me with questions about the last ResVitale Collagen supplement I posted about, and I know people said they had mixed results, so I'm going to try and be as useful as possible by describing all the possible benefits this supplement may have as well as the results. Just hang tight, folks.

ResVitale's new Collagen supplement is supposed to help skin to maintain elasticity and help reduce appearance of wrinkles. These are benefits make an anti-aging supplement pretty near perfect since you always want to be working to both prevent aging signs and also to do some repairing of what's already there. So, one supplement and you get prevention and some repair -- now I'm happy.

First, I feel like it's important to start from scratch, so lets talk about what collagen is, exactly:

You probably have an idea, like me, I knew that collagen was something in your skin and joints, and pictured it to be a clear squishy substance. Until I actually read up on it myself, I didn't know that collagen was also in bones and its exact definition is "a fibrous protein found in bones, skin and tissue."

Collagen connects and supports skin, muscles, bone, tendons, cartilage and also our internal organs. I didn't know that one until looking into it, either. This makes me think that taking a supplement that contains collagen and Vitamin C might even be helpful for more than just skin, but also perhaps those body parts mentioned as well.

*I am not making any for-sure claims, though, just to be clear. I'm just giving my thoughts and opinion.. and later, my experience with this new ResVitale product.*

Why the Added Vitamin C is Important:

In order for collagen to be able to produce, Vitamin C is necessary, so it makes sense that ResVitale include the ascorbic acid in the Collagen Renew. Connective Tissues require Vitamin C in order for collagen production to, well, produce!

Of course there's also the health benefits of Vitamin C, which most of you already know. To refresh your memory:  Vitamin C is an antioxidant, which alone provides anti-aging (you know, free radical fighting and all.), boosts immune system, etc.

Also important to note is that the ResVitale Collagen Renew with Vitamin C contains scientifically studied Bioactive Collagen Peptides®

I've included a picture of the Collagen Supplement from ResVitale above, so you can get an idea of the size and look of the tablets. They're not horse pills, but are easy enough to swallow, especially with the glaze on them. They go down smoothly and quick, with no taste or aftertaste.

Of course ResVitale packages their supplement in dark colored glass bottles and the bottle comes with the safety sticker over the opening.

My Results

It was probably right at the two week mark of my beginning this ResVitale Collagen Renew with Vitamin C when I actually put together that it was actually affecting the appearance of my skin. Surprisingly enough, although I was taking the supplement on a daily basis (3 times), I had forgotten about the results it claimed to deliver. I just didn't remember to really keep an eye out for anything, which I think worked in my favor and I like when that happens because it helps me be assured I won't be biased and just "think up" results or attribute them to the product when it's not really the product to give credit to, if that makes sense.

For several days, when I'd look in the mirror, I would think "my skin is just looking great today." I remember thinking that several times when after a while I thought "wow, my skin just keeps looking great." That's when it hit me that something had changed. My skin never has this long of a "good spell," I thought. My skin will have these "good spells" where for a day or two I'll look and think "hey, it's looking good." And then those few moments are over and my skin is back to looking rough.

So when I realized it hadn't gotten rough again, I started thinking of what I had done differently, and nearly kicked myself when I realized I'd been taking ResVitale's Collagen Renew with Vitamin C. That was one of those rare aha moments, and it excited me.

I definitely had far more noticeable results with this newer Vitamin C version than the last Collagen Renew that didn't contain the extra Vit.C. So, I think that was the key in making the product really work to its full potential, and ResVitale deserves a lot of credit there for listening to customers and making such a quick updated product that works better. Kudos to you, ResVitale!

Before I forget, the ingredients have me thinking that this supplement might also produce some surprise benefits for hair! It has ingredients that are beneficial for hair, and skin and nails for that matter, but thought I'd mention that.

Now, I'll tell you exactly what this "improvement" I noticed was:

A great complexion! Yes, it's that simple. It wasn't one little thing I could pin-point, but I just had glowing, nice, non-spolchy, dry and damaged looking skin. My pores didn't look overly-huge on my T-zone areas, less noticeable shine, and even possibly a bit of a plump effect, but nothing extreme. A nicely evened out complexion with a perfectly smooth, glowing texture. Also less "sunken in" circles around my eyes that I've been working religiously to reduce! Those suckers have had me stumped for ages as they only recently appeared and well, they came with their bags packed (pun intended) and planning for a looong stay. I researched everything I could about causes and remedies. I keep a close eye on Vitamin and minerals and work to keep enough in my system unless chaos creeps in, but they kept hanging around no matter how many things I fixed and how repaired my sleep became.

And I've finally seen a slight improvement. And I'm not about to give up now. Those babies are leaving. They don't have to go home, but they cannot stay under my eyeballs. Any takers looking for a new set? I hear they look lovely on some people.

Kidding. Kidding.

Joking aside.

I haven't seen a reduction in acne at all, but I have had a lot less trouble with my skin just having that dreadful dull look, if that makes sense. I am in that group of people who have basically all the skin "concerns" there is. A little bit of breaking out, a little bit of fine lines, an oily T-zone, enlarged pores, some minor scarring, little random blemish spots. And dryness on top of all that! That's usually in the form of little flaky skin around my cheek bones and chin every so often.

All of those things were reduced during the time of my taking ResVitale Collagen Renew with Vitamin C, and only days after I stopped did I notice my skin looking just cruddy again. I really enjoyed the results I was experiencing though, which will lead me to continuing use of the supplement. It wasn't until I'd seen some of the issues reappear that I realized just how great the improvements really were. I think I was in need of that added Vitamin C, too.

Oh, and one more added benefit I learned about the Collagen Renew with Vit. C that really got me wanting to keep taking it:

Apparently, it can help with osteoarthritis, and since it helps build collagen, I think it'd be great for my bones and joints, which are at high risk due to a medication I've been on for years (for endometriosis and reducing growth). It's just icing on the cake that this supplement can provide help there, too.

Dosage:

"As a dietary supplement, take 3 capsules daily with food or as recommended by your healthcare practitioner."

Instructions: Store tightly in a cool, dry place.

Now, for the supplement facts:

Each serving contains 10 calories, 10 milligrams sodium, 2 grams protein, 60 milligrams Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid) and Verisol Bioactive Collagen: 2.5 grams.

Other ingredients:
Rice Concentrate, Vegetable cellulose gum, silica, pharmaceutical glaze.

Note: Very impressive ingredients! No added harmful stuff like dyes and such.

What's not to Love?
Not much as this is a supplement that will be beneficial whether results in appearance are noticeable or not (you know, internal health). However, it's not exactly a one-a-day, but 3 daily. Not bad of course, and I don't have trouble remembering since I usually take the whole serving at once.
The price for quantity. You get 20 servings (60 tablets total), and at 3 a day, that means one bottle doesn't quite last a whole month.
Price per quantity is a bit high.

Sea Buckthorn Anti-Aging Moisturizer

You guys remember my in-depth post about Natura-Nutra's awesome Sea Buckthorn Oil and Sea Buckthorn Extract from Herbs Best Nutrition.com? I included as much information in that post about the benefits of Sea Buckthorn and all the amazing nutrients, vitamins, etc. it contains. I encourage you to scan that post if you haven't already to get an idea of what we're working with here. Sea Buckthorn is a powerful little dude, and at this point in my life, I think marriage is just around the corner. Kidding! Ha. I won't marry the lovely Sea Buckthorn.  But seriously, the amazing information that can be told/read/talked about/said about Sea Buckthorn and the benefits it offers is seemingly endless. I've considered even putting it all in a big ol' guide. For now, though, I'm just goint to talk about Sea Buckthorn on a somewhat different level -- for skincare. I'll discuss the benefits and everything, so keep your eyes open.

I've gotten my hands on another Natura-Nutra product, one of the newer products available on Herbs Best Nutrition, and boy am I ecstatic. It's their Sea Buckthorn Anti-Aging Moisturizer.

Natura-Nutra's Sea Buckthorn Anti-Aging Cream is formulated with multiple natural  and herbal ingredients, and is designed to combat dryness and aging.

"It is an optimal synergy of Sea Buckthorn oil, bioflavonoids, squalane, shea butter, and natural vitamin E. Lush nourishing elements penetrate deep into the pores, soothing the tissues and leaving a delicate aroma."
Side of box the Moisturizer comes in

Other side -- the ingredients

Here you can see some photos of the box and the moisturizer in its container. Lovely, right?

Well, even lovelier is the soft skin, the reduction in fine lines and just all around aging skin. Those dark circles under the eyes that hang over you like a dark cloud. Pretty depressing stuff! In my opinion, from what I've read over the last several months, I definitely think that using Sea Buckthorn would be one of the best and most effective approaches (if not the best) to fight crappy skin issues like the signs of aging and such.

What it does for your skin:

-The ingredient Sea Buckthorn Oil extract rejuvenates the skin with natural tocopherol, vitamins, caretenoids and omega fatty acids.

- High-potency Sea Buckthorn bioflavanoids are known for their anti-aging effect.

-Botanically obtaines squalane and shea butter revitalizes skin and protects from sun damage.

- It's enriched with Omega-7 from Sea Buckthorn, which provides structural materials for cellular walls. It also helps smooth out signs of aging and gives skin a youthful glow.

Super close-up!

The Sea Buckthorn Anti-Aging Moisturizer is an amazingly rich, thick moisturizer with a super-creamy like texture. It looks like whipped cream! It's probably the most moisturizing cream I have ever used in my life -- and I'm serious. Upon first applying it, I noticed the super-rich cream and expected to have a greasy residue left on my skin. Every cream I've tried that was rich and moisturizing always seems to leave a trail of greasyness on my skin. So shocked was I when about 8 minutes after generously applying the Sea Buckthorn Anti-Aging lotion to my face and looking in the mirror to see not a shiny, wet-looking face, but a soft, hardly shiny, but pore-minimized complexion!

I apply the Sea Buckthorn Anti-Aging cream at night, after showering. Your skin does most of its healing during the first 3 hours of your sleep, so it made sense to do it at night.

The first things I noticed different about my skin was that it looked bright. Very strange, but good! The next thing I noticed was how tiny my pores looked! They tend to be very large and on occasion, I notice them looking smaller such as when my skin-cleanser is doing its job  (it's very finicky), so I was happy that it looks this way.

Another awesome thing is that I feel like my skin is actually absorbing the moisturizer instead of it hanging out on my skin, which most moisturizers do. It absorbs quickly too, especially to be a rich cream. And it leaves my skin incredibly soft and velvety. Never do I encounter a dry, flaky patch after using this stuff.

The scent
Sea Buckthorn Anti-Aging cream has what I'd call a medium-strength scent to it. It isn't perfumey strong, so it's not something that is overpowering. But I will notice the smell every once in a while up to about 20 minutes after application. It's a nice, slightly sweet, fresh and clean scent.

"Sea Buckthorn is widely used to treat various skin conditions including acne, rosacea, eczema, stretch marks, dermatitis, sunburn, wounds and more. "

The Omega-7 content found in Sea Buckthorn helps the regeneration of skin cells as well as relieves the signs of aging.

PS. I learned something new today  when reading a paper from Natura-Nutra on Sea Buckthorn. Russian astronauts use Sea Buckthorn oil for its strong anti-UV Ray properties!

Ingredients:
Distilled Water (eau), Squalane, hippophae rhamnoides oil (sea buckthorn), butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), betaine, tocopherol acetate (Vitamin E), Rice Bran Extract (ethyhexyl ferulate), Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Extract (carboxymethyl glucan), Lactococcus lactis extract (hyaluronic acid), hippophae rhamnoides extract (Sea Buckthorn flavanoids), sodium benzoate, natural fragrance (Parfum).

The container that houses the Sea Buckthorn Anti-Aging Moisturizer holds 50 grams of the product and believe me, a little bit of it goes a super long way! The first time I used it, I took about a quarter sized amount -- being used to my other moisturizer -- and quickly realized, after my entire face was generously covered, that it didn't take that much at all. So I used the remaining on my arm and even it looked lovely and glowy!

Now, I've come to learn that only a small dime-sized glob is plenty to spread over my entire face, a little more for the neck.

More Reasons Why I Love Natura-Nutra & Their Products

- All Natura-Nutra nutrition supplements carry an NPN number (Natural Product Number). Herb's Best Nutrition operates under the guideline of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

-Natura-Nutra Sea Buckthorn source berries are organic cultivated and hand-picked. Of all the tests conducted, their Sea Buckthorn products are shown to be pesticide free, heavy metal-free and contaminant-free!

- Natura-Nutra Sea Buckthorn Oil is processed using supercritical CO2 extraction technology, preserving the nutrients to the maximum!

-Natura-Nutra is a "green company." In striving to keep the earth "green," they help Sea Buckthorn farmers in dry areas to grow the plants as their source materials. This has turned the barren land back to cultivatable soil. While harvesting nutrient-rich berries, Natura-Nutra is contributing to a greener earth.
