Amazingly Beautiful Moisturizer and Revitalizer (Review)

Amazingly Beautiful is a body moisturizer and revitalizer made with 100% pure botanical oils -- from Trusted Health Products -- that provides a super safe, effective way to moisturize skin deep within.

I just received a bottle of 'Amazingly Beautiful' body moisturizer and revitalizer and boy am I in complete bliss. I just took a shower and slathered myself from head to toe in this divine-smelling oil. And then I came straight here to share about it because I couldn't wait to talk about this stuff.

This Amazingly Beautiful moisturizer comes from the same company as the OraMD products that I've rave-reviewed here, and Beautiful AM and Beautiful PM oils that I've also reviewed here at Ribbons and Pearls in the past.

Those are for your face, and if you haven't adopted the "oil cleansing method" into your skincare routine yet, then I highly suggest you take a few minutes to read up on why everybody and their dogs are replacing their soaps with oil.

The Amazingly Beautiful moisturizer, on the other hand, is for your body, but I couldn't resist and had to try it on the dry areas of my face as well, and I was equally as fond of using it on my face as I was using it on my body.
Benefits:
- Decreases the appearance of spider veins and blemishes

- Smooths appearance of rough and scaly areas
- Reduces appearance of age spots, discoloration, and sun spots
- Firms and tones appearance of skin
- Completely gets rid of dry skin

-Pores are minimized and overall complexion appears improved and smooth

- Leaves behind a subtle, healthy glow and no gross greasy residue
- Fully absorbs into the skin, providing real nourishment and true moisturization

- Contains no dead or processed chemicals. Only healthy, natural botanical oils

Instructions say to lightly and gently spread over skin, avoiding rubbing it in.

I became incredibly fond of this stuff pretty much instantly. From the second I inhaled the squeaky clean and fresh, natural aromas of citrus, I couldn't wait to shower and basically roll myself in it.

Citrus tends to be among my favorites scents for everything from soaps, perfumes and lotions to cleaning products. In fact, my everyday perfume-of-choice that I've stuck with as my "signature perfume" for nearly a decade now has citrus-y notes. Same goes for my all-time-favorite body wash.

The scent of Amazingly Beautiful is refreshing, clean, and pleasantly long-lasting. It's the only scented product I can use that everyone in the house is pleased to smell lingering.

There are so many awesome qualities about this Amazingly Beautiful moisturizer (including some pretty odd ones), so I don't know where to even start, but I'm determined to pack every ounce of information about it in this very post, so just bear with me please.

I've discussed how pleasant the aroma of this stuff is, but an even more important aspect is how it feels on your skin.

Oil as Skincare
A lot of folks are funny about using oil on their skin. There's of course the myth that oil on your skin will cause breakouts by clogging pores. You can go ahead and forget about that possibility because it doesn't. Perhaps vegetable oil (that you cook with) would, but not pure oils like this.

Secondly, some people are put off by using oil on their skin because of how oil typically feels -- greasy, uncomfortable, and weird!

If you've ever gotten oil on your hands while cooking or something and tried to wash it off.. It wasn't pleasant, right? I've always had an issue with odd residue being on my skin. I hate the feeling of sticky, or slimy skin.

Yet I'm a pretty hardcore oil user when it comes to my skin. I lather my face with it, I wash my face with it, I moisturize my entire body from head to toe with it (I even use an oil-based foundation on my face! It's a natural, herbal oil of course.)

You're probably thinking I must have very greasy skin, and run around looking like a total grease ball, right?

I actually happened to have oily skin on my face in some areas. I'm one of those combination-skin types where the forehead area, nose, and chin are typically a bit oily while the rest is so dry it could crack like porcelain.

And I still use oil all over.

That's because it has so many awesome skin benefits, and it helps balance the crazy combination skin.

Instead of the oil causing your skin to look oily, it just balances it out.

It's false that using oil on your skin will cause it to be more oily. It will only help balance it out, keeping it from being over-dry or over-oily, and even promote healing of any spots, scars, acne, etc. Don't forget it's probably the best anti-aging remedy out there, too.

In fact, I once read, years ago that a queen (who I cannot recall, apologies for that) used to bathe in olive oil daily because it was her ultimate "beauty secret."

As the story goes, the queen had the most beautiful, healthy skin thanks to her oil baths.

Amazingly Beautiful Moisturizer and Revitalizer naturally nourishes skin, and almost instantly provided my skin with visible results. You can tell the oils are being truly absorbed by the skin and leaving mine looking better than it has in years.

I normally have extremely dry skin that sometimes even looks like it has cracks throughout it! I have struggled trying to improve my skins appearance for years, but lotions only make it appear smooth and moisturized for a few hours at best.

I've noticed that even after a total 24 hours later, my skin looks fantastic, moisturized, and so healthy. The oil seems to absorb fully, leaving no residue behind and no bizarre layers of residue on my skin.

My skin doesn't look greasy or oily after the product has absorbed, but only healthy and nice. I'm 100% pleased and thrilled with this.
Ingredients:

Trusted Health Products uses truly pure, healthy, and effective ingredients in every one of their products. You guys may recall me sharing about that in my other reviews. Amazingly Beautiful is no exception -- it reeks of high quality.

The best part is that they don't use fillers or any of the harmful chemicals and other junk that's often in skincare products.

That's something that has irked me for years -- harmful chemicals in my daily beauty/hygiene products. There are a few lotions from the stupidly famous (and even more stupidly over-priced) Bath and Body Works that I absolutely adore, but I hate the feeling I have when I slather it onto my skin because I know that it's 1. not completely safe ingredients and 2. not actually effective at doing anything for my skin aside from providing a sticky moisturized illusion. It doesn't have healing properties, it doesn't truly moisturize skin. It doesn't feel good (it's sticky and not pleasant on) and it does absolutely nothing for your skin. It has no anti-aging properties, no health benefits for skin.

That has always bugged me!
If I'm going to take the time to rub something all over my entire body, then it better actually do something good for my skin besides just make it smell pretty. After all, that's what perfume is for and perfume doesn't require all that rubbing. It also doesn't leave my entire body a sticky mess.

There I go again, finding a window to rant. Enough complaining.

My point is, I prefer using a moisturizer that's going to benefit my skin in the long run (and make all that time spent rubbing it on worth it.)

The 3 Qualities Every Moisturizer Should Have

Oh, and the money. It's not worth it to me to purchase a moisturizer if it doesn't actually benefit my skin. I like anti-aging, healing, and moisturizing properties -- 3 things that every "moisturizer" should have.

There are only 6 ingredients in the Amazingly Beautiful moisturizer, and they're all healthy and beneficial, and truly moisturizing: 100% pure botanical oils of orange, lime, lemon, avacado, olive, and almond.

If a moisturizer doesn't have ingredients that have at least the moisturizing and some healthy benefits for my skin in the long run, then I won't waste my money on it.

Uses:
This is a pretty exciting product. While its main use is for your skin, it actually has quite a few other nifty uses as well.

- A skin moisturizer
-Makeup Remover
- Deodorant!
You read that correctly. As per the information within the paper insert, this stuff can be an effective deodorant, and it's natural! I've wanted to start using only natural deo for years, and have tried (and reviewed) many natural deos, but haven't ever been able to stick with them as the odor would always come through.

However, the citrus scent in this oil could be a much better alternative to others I've used since it is quite powerful, and could likely work better at keeping odor at bay.

I did use some on my pits after my shower tonight, but since tomorrow is going to be a long day outdoors in the heat, I went ahead and swiped some actual deodorant on too since I don't want to risk the possibility of getting really sweaty and stinking around the people I'll be with tomorrow.

I will, however, apply it alone the next day and report back here how that goes.

Update:
I liked using this as added protection against odor, especially during these warmer months. I haven't had the opportunity to use it by itself, but I've been swiping some of the oil on my pits before applying deo and it does help keep odor away, even when I spend a day outside in the smothering heat -- no odor at all.

- Fragrance (for your body or as a room fragrance)
When Amazingly Beautiful first arrived to me, I was just about to leave the house, so the first thing I did after smelling of it was dab some onto my neck and wrists because it has such a divine, clean aroma, and works beautifully (or should I say "amazingly beautifully?") as a light body fragrance.
Secondly, after reading the paper insert it came with, I added a few drops to a tiny container and let it sit in my bedroom as a room fragrance! I have to say, it's the best room-fragrance I've ever used, especially since the pure botanical oils are natural and safe to smell (and don't cause me a migraine like most smells), and will freshen the air pretty well.

A bonus is that the citrus oils are useful at keeping pesky insects away! Sometimes, these are even added to bug-sprays to keep you from being bitten while outdoors. I wipe my arms and legs down with this before going outside and it prevents me from being eaten alive by mosquitos.

I leave my window open (for my darn pets who can't seem to decide whether they want in or out) so maybe the scent will also help keep away those nasty insects.

I've read that spiders taste with the hairs on their nasty little legs, and they are supposed to hate citrus. Many people use citrus oil to wipe down their window sill and stuff. I've used it around windows and on the legs of my bed. Yes, I'm extremely paranoid and phobic when it comes to those nasty creatures. I absolutely loathe them with every speck of my being.

Moving on...

Specs:

As shown in the photo, the oil comes with a spray top so that you can simply spray it on yourself, but I have not yet switched to the spray top since I was so afraid of it getting knocked over and ending up leaking (I have cat. Enough said, huh?)

However, I do love the ease of being able to just spray it right on!

The top it comes with is a typical one for oils of this nature -- it has a stopper in it, so that it won't come running out all over the place when you tilt the bottle.

The largest size bottle comes with 3.4 oz of product (I believe), which is the size I have right now.
Trusted Health Products carries it in several different sized bottles, including a travel-like size. I like having a variety of options to choose from, but personally, I can already tell that the large size will be necessary for me.

I say that because I've had the bottle for 3 days and noticed a significant decrease in the amount of product when I went to use it tonight.

It's possible that I'm over-using a little bit since I like to sure that all of my skin is completely covered and it can be hard to tell because this stuff isn't greasy, but somewhat like a dry oil.

Being that I have quite the severe case of dry skin, especially during the warmer months which we're starting to experience here already, I have to use a lot more than someone who has relatively normal skin.

Plus, I use this from neck down, only skipping the most sensitive body parts.

P.S.
For a limited time, the manufacturer is willing to offer my readers one free bottle (free aside from shipping and handling). They said they would love to have our readers try out Botanical Splash and agreed to send one bottle free, provided you pay the shipping and handling charge. Click here to get that offer.

Beautiful A.M. and P.M.

Oils have a somewhat negative reputation when it comes to using them on our skin. People have been told that oil causes you to breakout, and while some oily products can, using natural oils will never cause breakouts. We've been terrified of using oils on our face for so long that we never think about the huge benefits of doing it!

I remember being flipped out when I read that some queen somewhere shared that her secret to looking so very young and "beautiful" was using olive oil, even bathing in it daily for decades! I thought 'holy guacamole, she must've had serious acne.' But, I was intrigued enough to do some research, and that was over a year ago. I remember finding all these fabulous benefits to using oils like olive oil on your face, and even posting here to share that I was going to start using it myself.

Well, I have. And I recently got the wonderful opportunity to try a product from a sister site of one of my favorite companys.

In fact, I've written about another product I loved by the same company who makes the Beautiful line a while back -- OraMD. Do you guys remember that? I actually still use the stuff to brush my teeth with to this day! I haven't touched toothpaste (or soap, thanks to OraMD!) in a year and 2 months!

Anyways, that aside,  the two bottles you see in my photos there are of  Beautiful AM and Beautiful PM Revitalizer.

Just to prove to you guys that oil is not a horrific monster, I have taken two photos of my face right after applying the oil, and the second one about 10 minutes later...

Just ignore the puffiness -- it was early and I'd just woken up!

The photo above is my face immediately after applying Beautiful AM. No makeup, powder or anything on my skin (only eye makeup.)

You can see that there isn't any major shininess or oilyness to my skin. The oil is oil, so it feels like oil (not as thick as olive oil, though) and it is slightly shiny at first, but as it absorbs into the skin, your face won't be so shiny.

And this is me 10 minutes after applying the Beautiful oil, and not even wiping any off my skin -- pretty nice, huh? It isn't shiny at all really.

I have been using the Beautiful AM and Beautiful PM for a week today. I actually have less breakouts than when I started with!

So, you can lay the myth (that using oil on your skin makes you shiny and breakout) to rest. It isn't true. Promise. And I've used various olive oils, seabuck oils and coconut oils on my skin for over a year. It has never caused me to breakout. If anything, natural oils are some of the most beneficial things you can put on your skin as they promote healing, etc. I'll go into details in a moment. First I want to discuss more about the Beautiful line and how to use it.

P.S. Something else we tend to assume is that if we have oily skin, we should avoid oils. That's a myth, too.

The Beautiful line can be used on all skin types, including oily (like mine!) It won't cause your face to produce more oils. In fact, one big  reason oily-skin is oily is because of the products we use can strip skin of its natural oils, so it begins producing too much and leaves us shiny as a sequin. That's the case for me, too. Most of my cleansers just dry my skin out, so it'll over-produce oil and make me shiny. Since Beautiful AM and PM is a natural product, it isn't going to cause your skin to over-produce or under-produce oils.

One thing that makes the Beautiful line so unique and precious is that the label will say "Beautiful," and then your own name right underneath it!

That was a really nice surprise and seeing it every morning and night always makes me smile! It also makes the two a really special gift to someone. I also think it's unique and cute that Trusted Health Products has a line like Beautiful for men! It's called "You're The Man!"

For the You're The Man line, Trusted Health Products also puts your own name on the label, so it would say "Kendra, You're the Man!"  Ha. Ha. I just love that! It too would make a really nice gift for a man in your life.
I've never seen anything like this neat little detail anywhere else before, but I think it's the cutest idea. Kind of makes it more personal and gives you a nice lift each time you go to use it.

Now that we've knocked out the oil myth, let me tell you all the reasons I love Beautiful AM and PM Revitalizer...

  •  It's made with 100% pure live, cold-pressed & natural, botanical ingredients -- obviously I love that!
  • Contains no GMOs, no preservatives, synthetic chemicals, parabens  or additives of any kind! This is actually a lot more important in your skincare products than you might think. I've posted the importance of avoiding those things in everything from food to products you use a lot here, but I simply can't say it enough. A lot of times it's tough for me to avoid some of these harmful ingredients when it comes to food (thanks to where I live, mostly), but I've gotten to where I cannot bring myself to use soaps or skincare products that aren't natural. One exception: deodorant. Oh, and shampoo. Darn I'm bad. But I've not been able to get around those two for the life of me. I've tried every single natural deo I've been able to find and always end up stinking! Can't handle stink.

As for my face, the one part of my body that shows constantly. The one part I can't really hide short of wearing a mask, is very important to me. I've never broken out and had awful skin since I quit using chemical-filled facial products. My skin was bad when I used those!  For one, that kind of stuff has no beneficial ingredients.

It may have something that makes your skin soft, or strips it of dirt and grime (but so does Beautiful, only it won't strip your natural oils from your skin along with the dirt.)

The natural oils in Beautiful work to moisturize your skin -- truly moisturize, not just add a layer of lotion on top of your skin. It actually absorbs within the skin -- and feeds nutrients to cells -- and works to moisturize, heal and detox your skin. Chemical-filled facial products can't do that. Moving on.

  • This is something else I couldn't love more about the Beautiful AM and PM -- it replaces your moisturizer, cleanser, toner, repair cream, protectant, firming product, age-defying product and blemish products! Now that is my ideal skincare routine! It's handy and super convenient.
I was shocked at how much time I've been saving over the last week that I've been using only the two oils -- Beautiful AM and Beautiful PM. Aside from makeup, that's all I've been using! This is actually the first time in my life I've cut out a moisturizer. Even when I would use olive oil on my skin at night, I'd wake up and still need a moisturizer.

  • It also works as a cleanser/makeup remover!  Oils such as the ones in Beautiful are the best, most effective, yet gentle makeup removers I have ever used. I just dab a little under my eyes and swipe with a tissue and it removes more of the black makeup (mascara, eyeliner) than anything I've used.
Before using the AM and PM Beautiful, I'd have to keep scrubbing under my eyes over, and over and over and over! Even when using a facial cleanser. I'd get it looking clean and wake up the next morning with an entire new ring of black under my eyes -- almost as if I'd never washed it off the night before. And even after washing again, I'd sometimes still have the faintest bit under there that made it look like I had dark circles. It just does not remove well.

I also use the Beautiful AM under my eyes when I'm going to be applying eyeshadow. One of the first things I do as I get up is rub the AM Beautiful on my face, but I'll add a little extra under my eyes if I'm going to use eyeshadow.

Then, once I've applied it, all the fall-out (flecks of eyeshadow that land under the eyes and on the cheeks) can be swept right away in just a couple of swipes! It's a life-saver because I use a lot of colored eyeshadows, and black, so it tends to fall all over the place and then smear into black streaks on my skin!

  • Beautiful decreases wrinkles, lines, enlarged pores and other marks. I've noticed significant change in the appearance of my entire complexion. I've noticed changes and imrpovements in the past when I would use some products, and after a week (two, maximum), things would turn around and it'd seem as if it stopped working! This has happened so many times that I couldn't count. Using the Beautiful oils makes it pretty impossible to not see improvements in your skin.
For the very first time in so many years, when I wake up, my skin doesn't look awful. My pores don't look huge! I can hardly see the pores on my cheeks, chin and forehead, which has rarely been the case for me until now.

I used to scowl when I looked at my skin without some type of powder/makeup because I couldn't quite put my finger on the actual problem, but my skin and complexion in general just looked bad. When I took the photos I posted earlier in this post, I couldn't believe how decent my skin looked without any makeup on it.

Today, I even considered not using powder on my forehead and cheeks at all. Hard habit to break, though. But my skin looks that much better.

Also, this isn't nearly as important as the ingredients being natural, safe and totally effective, but I can't help but love the scent of the Beautiful A.M. and Beautiful P.M.! It's once of my all-time favorite scents in the world -- an orangey, clean and sweet scent. I love it. Orange is a refreshing aroma, and the sweet aroma combined with it is just perfection. It's a nice plus to using natural ingredients. And believe me, it smells nothing like artificial crap like Pledge furniture cleaner!

The aroma isn't strong, but slightly noticeable. Once it absorbs (which is quickly), I won't ever notice the scent again, so it's not bothersome.

While the AM and PM Beautiful oils do, no doubt clear skin and improve basically everything about your skin, Trusted Health Products does mention that during the first 30 days, when the skin is just starting to detox, you might see some problems arise like breakouts. This hasn't happened to me so far.

I think it just depends on how "congested" your skin is. What that means is, our skin collects junk over time from all the products we use and pollution and stuff. And most of the cleansers and things we use don't work to clean all the deeply stuck crap out. Yes, I know te drugstore soaps claim to "clean pores deeply," but have you ever seen your pores cleaned?

I haven't ever seen or felt a deep cleaning from any drugstore product I've use. I have seen my pores truly cleaned though and it's a huge difference. You can't miss it if your pores are "deeply" cleaned.

Beautiful does work to unclog everything, so that's why you can see problems before it begins healing. I have a theory that the reason it hasn't happened to my skin yet is because I've devoted my face to using only natural lotions and cleansers for the last year. That does not mean that I won't wake up with some decongesting of the makeup I've used over the years, though. I will report back with results as I go.

Okay, I understand that I never shut up and that I create very long posts, but please bear with me as I just can't help but include every bit of information that I can about something I really love, in hopes of helping inform and share with other people.

Now that I've said that, I want to share something I recently learned from Trusted Health Products' website, and I really think this is extremely important for all of us to know.

A lot of us know that skincare products can print lies on their labels. There's a lot of useful information to be learned in that area, though. Here is what I learned from the Trusted Health Products website and wanted to share:

"The cosmetic skincare industry is among the worst and least regulated in our entire society. They have almost total free reign to put whatever ingredient they choose into our everyday skincare products, with little to no regard for our health and wellbeing.

Prime example: Lobbyists from the skincare industry have strongly opposed bills that would require them to notify the government before releasing products that contain ingredients that are known to cause cancer! Ingredients like parabens, petrochemicals and others have been associated with or linked to allergic reactions, skin conditions, hormonal disruptions, neurotoxicity, and even cancer (see our free report, The Poisons You Put on Your Face Everyday, where we expose the truth behind skincare ingredients that the industry doesn’t want you to know).

Bottom line: If you have to rub it in, your skin doesn’t want it, and it’s not good for your face."

How interesting (and disappointing) is that? I didn't know that if it requires rubbing in (as I sit here and recall, I believe every single moisturizer and cleanser I own and have used regularly requires massaging in the product!) It's good to know, though because it helps us make the best decisions for what will be helpful or harmful or do nothing for our skin.

* I highly recommend you click the link above in that paragraph I quoted from the Trusted Health Products website, the one titled "The Poisions You Put on Your Face Everyday" because it's very informative and interesting!

Now, here's a description about how the Beautiful products work (from Trusted Health Product's website):

"The pure live botanical oils in Beautiful help to balance your face sebum because “oil dissolves oil.” One of the most basic principles of chemistry is that “like dissolves like.”

Interesting! I didn't know this before. Learning more and more as I go.

The best way to dissolve an over abundance of your face oils, a.k.a. “sebum”, is to apply something that is similar in composition – in this case, pure live botanical oils.

" By using the right oils, you can cleanse your pores of dirt and bacteria naturally, gently and effectively, while replacing the dirty oil with beneficial ones extracted from natural botanicals, vegetables and fruit that can create the environment that helps to heal, protect, moisturize and nourish your skin."

Told ya it worked wonders for cleansing! I know when you first switch a soap for oil, it does not feel like cleansing, but you adapt quickly and once you do, and try using a soap on your face again, you'll be surprised at how dry and tight and dull it feels and looks.

Trying to keep your skin’s chemistry in harmony on your own is an almost-impossible balancing act. But when you use nature’s pure live botanical oils, they help your facial oils to balance on their own, no matter what type of skin you have – dry or oily. Because your skin’s inner layer is made up of fat and collagen, Beautiful’s pure botanical oils are naturally absorbed after being applied to your skin. No rubbing in is required."

As said, you just barely swipe the Beautiful oils on your skin without needing to massage it in or anything. I use my clean fingers to do this because I feel like using a paper towel, tissue or cotton ball is just going to absorb the oils and end up wasting the product over time. And I certainly like that it leaves my fingers nice and smooth, too! When I accidentally use too much, I'll rub it on my cuticles a little for healthier skin there, too!

This would actually make an amazing all-over body oil, but I'd hate to use it all there. Since it's thin (not overly thick) and doesn't stain, but is very moisturizing and beneficial for skin, it would certainly do a nice job for a leg/hand/feet and arm oil, too. I've considered adding a few drops to a natural moisturizer I use on my body.

***UPDATE ON MY RESULTS***

Today is the 19th (October, 2013). I posted this on the 7th of October & had been using the Beautiful products for, I think, a little over a week. I mentioned that the oils could cause some breakouts as it decongests skin and said that so far, I hadn't seen any, and that I figured maybe it could be due to my using natural products for so long that my skin may not react by breaking out.

I spoke too soon! I started seeing a lot of randomly placed breakouts 6 days ago. I was on my way to Panama and noticed a few strange breakouts on my face. Over the next few days, I was waking up with 2+ new zits! I had little clusters of small bumps all over my cheeks. A few around my nose as well, but nothing severe and thankfully, I've yet to have any large, painfully sore bumps.

Since I was on vacation in Panama this week (just got back tonight!) I just cut back using the oil as my face was looking awful and I really didn't want any extra zits at that point. Also, since the sun dries my skin out so badly when I'm spending days at the beach, I also slacked off of washing my face too much. I didn't want to use any soaps that would further clog up my face and cause the breakouts again once I went back to using the Beautiful oils, so I stuck to using only a 100% organic coconut oil soap on my skin, and I even skipped a couple of days of washing it with anything but water.

I've also slacked off of using any makeup on my skin, so that should make the process (now that I'll be back to using Beautiful since I'm home) less . . . pimpl-y!

The good news is, the breakouts started clearing up instantly once I stopped using these oils. And even though the breakouts were all over my cheeks (mostly just on the right side of my face, strangely enough), they didn't leave any marks or scars behind. They're completely cleared up now and my skin looks fabulous.

I should also note that I experienced one heck of a change in hormones this past week two. That could have contributed to some of the breakouts.

Well, I will update again as I go. Just wanted to put that in there.

To go into further detail about Beautiful's effective ingredients, here's the list of ingredients in both (and Trusted Health Products lists all the ingredients on the labels!)

A. M. Ingredients: 100% Pure Botanical oils of almond, orange, lemon, avocado and olive.

P. M. Ingredients: 100% Pure Botanical oils of almond, orange, lemon, evening primrose and apricot.

And here are some of the benefits of each of those ingredients:

Almond: Moisturizes, relieves itching and dryness, soothes skin and gives it a glowing appearance.

Lemon: A natural cleanser that prevents wrinkles and other aging signs. Increases the anti-oxidative potential of the skin bio surface (to help stop damage to the skin).

Orange: Another wonderful, effective cleanser with natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, helps fight acne and restores skin's smooth appearance.

Avacado: Contains beneficial Vitamins A, D and E. Increases the content soluble collagen in  skin to enrich dry, damaged, chapped or wounded skin.

Olive Oil:
(One of my favorite things for skin!) Olive oil is also a natural cleanser and moisturizer that has shown to have preventative effects for formation of skin cancers and tumors.

P.S. And remember the queen I read about (queen of what, I do not remember) who claimed to use olive oil all over her skin, including bathin in it to keep herself "beautiful?" I like to remember that because it reminds me of just how powerful these natural ingredients are.

Evening Primrose: A great plant used to treat many problems, including external (on the skin) ones. Contains omega 6 fatty acids. It contains nutrients that improve skin's elasticity and are essential for cell structure. There's evidence that it can help reduce wrinkles and even help repair stretch marks.

Apricot Oil: A gentle moisturizer that soothes, firms and tones skin. It slows signs of aging. It contains Vitamins A  and E.

Seabuckthorn -- Best Skin Ever

Hey lovely kittens! I'm back with something very unique called Seabuckthorn -- Best Skin Ever from Living Libations.

What is Seabuckthorn - Best Skin Ever?

Living Libations' Seabuckthorn is a product made with seabuckthorn berry oil and several other highly beneficial essential oils. It's a fabulous choice -- besides all the benefits -- it's natural ingredients and made of high quality ingredients.

Seabuckthorn is designed as basically, an all-in-one product, which is very convenient and much appreciated by someone like me who has extremely high maintenance skin. This Seabuckthorn product cleanses wonderfully, exfoliates gently and moisturizes. That's a God-send when you spend 30 minutes on your face each night.

Besides that, I've found that this oil works really well for removing my black mascara and eyeliner, which is always a pain since after vigorous scrubbing, it always leaves darkness under and around my eyes. Dabbing a small amount onto a washcloth and rubbing the black areas was enough to clean it away.

Seabuckthorn can also be used on the body to bring about a radiance after cleansing.

What is Seabuckthorn berry oil?

This is actually my first experience with Seabuckthorn products, and I hadn't heard of Seabuckthorn before getting this product from Living Libations, strangely enough. I normally keep pretty up to date on all kinds of neat skincare stuff, but I have to say, the Seabuckthorn is new to me, and a unique product that I'm greatful to have. Below is Living Libations description of their Seabuckthorn oil. If you prefer, you can read it in full here.

"This special super-critical extract balances and harmonizes the lipid layers of the skin. It is beneficial for all skin types. Sea buckthorn gets to the root cause of imbalances in the skin by going deep within the lipid layers and healing from the inside out.

It is extraordinarily rich and vital oil that is perfectly balanced in omega 3, 6, 7 and 9 oils. Our sea buckthorn berry oil is a special extract that is able to capture over 190 bioactive substances in one drop! The oil is also potent in antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory properties, carotenoids like beta carotene, and phytosterols that reduce redness and help heal mucous membranes.

We have been using sea buckthorn in many of our formulas since 1994 and have found that it regenerates cells, protects against cell water loss and is rich in vitamins C, E, and pro-vitamins A and B. Seabuckthorn oil is also rich in lipids, beneficial fatty acids and rare palmitoleic acids. All of these extraordinary plant properties contribute to regenerate and revitalize connective tissue. Also rich in rare palmitoleic oils, our special super critical extract is able to capture over 190 bioactive healing constituents from the edible sea buckthorn berry. This oil is potent in hydrophilic and lipophyllic antioxidants such as carotenoids, ascorbic acid and tocopherols.

These carotenoids have been extensively studied for their photo-protective qualities as sunscreens and protectors against intrinsic damage. Super-critical sea buckthorn oil also contains natural anti-inflammatory compounds and phytosterols that reduce redness and help heal mucous membranes."

" The result is the softest skin ever! Real to the feel skin care grooms your immune system and calls every body filament alive."

Very impressive, huh?

 How to use Seabuckthorn:

Dampen a wash cloth, and apply one to two squirts of Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever to the cloth, and then gently massage the face, neck and other desired areas, rubbing gently or vigorously for less or more exfoliation. Personally, I tend to need a lot of extra exfoliation, but since I only tanned a day ago, I've not gone crazy with exfoliating, but instead have been massaging with a wash cloth a littl gently, since the cloth alone will provide enough exfoliation without overdoing it on my newly tanned skin. However, rougher will exfoliate more.

You can rinse your skin afterward or leave it on. Since I do want to clean my face, I massage really well and then rinse, but apply a tiny drop over my dry areas like cheeks, tip of nose and leave it on overnight. It can be massaged (a very tee-tiny amount!) under the eyes for a nice anti-aging treatment, I suppose. It does have the proper ingredients for ant-aging and will definitely benefit your skin even more when left on. For dry skin, this is a perfect treatment and easy to leave on overnight without soiling your pillow cases!

Another great thing is, if you do decide to leave it on overnight, it's not noticeable on your face the next day. You can still rinse or rub a wash cloth over your face, but after it's been left on, it absorbs and won't leave residue behind.

Using Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever after a bath:

As I said, you can use this product all over, and to have extremely soft, smooth and lovely skin, you can rub yourself down with it after a bath. I love this because it really helps with dry skin (ahem, my knees!) and brings out the lovely complexion all over! And no worries about rubbing down with it right before bed because you won't be left greasy like most lotions or oils for your skin. There's no residue left over after it absorbs. It just leaves a nice glowy touch to your skin. I have a super shiny forehead that causes me so much trouble, so I was hesitant about using this on my forehead. Thankfully, I have less shine than if I use my "matte" facial lotion!

To use the Seabuckthorn oil on other body parts, simply repeat the same steps as for your face: apply with wash cloth. You can also use in the shower and rub with the cloth to cleanse and exfoliate and then apply a bit more via the cloth and leave on.

And now, before we move on, I want to share Living Libations' video, which is Nadine giving some fabulous tips!

Who it works for

The Seabuckthorn product is good for all skin, including combination, oily, dry, and even acne prone skin may show improvement. In fact, I'm pretty positive it will because a few little bumps and a couple of tiny acne marks have looked much, much better on my skin after using this! I even combined a nice little treatment tonight of this and a dab of aloe vera straight from my plant to really bring on some soothing for my skin since I'm just now clearing up from a rough outbreak of bumps. It looks great actually. Enough that I've skipped my covering makeup.

Ingredients:

All pure-organic and/or wildcrafted ingredients:

super-critical Sea buckthorn oil, golden jojoba oil, virgin coconut oil, tamanu oil, lavender, vetiver, grapefruit, and palmarosa essential oils.

Earlier in this post, I shared from the Living Libations website, exactly what the ingredient Seabuckthorn is. Now, we'll discuss what the others are.

Virgin Coconut oil - You guys know how much I've rambled about the benefits of this stuff! Whether you're taking it internally (eating it) or using it externally, the benefits are absolutely stunning. It also anti-ages, so applying it to your skin is very beneficial. It can help with acne, skin irritations and will moisturize wonderfully.

Tamanu oil - This is actually another one I have never heard of until coming in contact with Living Libations. Very interesting! Living Libations say that Tamanu oil is a  "beautiful, exotic berry oil that is deeply healing to the skin. It has a nutty, earthy, fragrance. It has great absorption in the skin and is very high in nourishing lipids (92% lipids)."

Golden Jojoba oil - Highly moisturizing, can reduce excessive oilyness and super hydrating for skin. Leaves you very soft.

Lavender -  An essential oil that I've previously discussed this week. Lavender has been used for many centuries in various ways, but is most commonly known for its relaxing, anti-anxiety and even sleep-inducing properties. The scent can often be enough to make you relax, or for me, when using pure essential oil, can send me into the most perfect, much needed nap! I've used it a lot lately just to help fall asleep. Anyways, that's not why its used in this facial product though.

Lavender, like aloe vera, is a natural antibiotic and has anti-inflammatory benefits. This is why I mentioned acne-prone skin being able to benefit from the Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever. It will help reduce the swelling, redness, etc. from new pimples/blemishes. And for the old blemishes that are still a dark color, but aren't quite fading, this is also beneficial. I had one on my chin!

Vetiver - Calms, moisturizes and plumps skin. So if you were considering using this Seabuckthorn oil for under eye treatment, there's your go-ahead!

Grapefruit essential oil -   Used a skin tonic to tighten and tone. Also is said to be energizing! Prevents blemishes. Promotes lymphatic flow (very nice!  I didn't know this until reading it on Living Libations!)

Palmarosa -  Another one I'm not too familiar with. Living Libations says that Palmarosa essential oil is a fruity grass distilled for its phytochemicals, is rejuvenating, balances sebum and promoted healthy cells.

 Scent

Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever has a very strong, herbal aroma upon first opening and sniffing from the bottle. The aroma is absolutely nice, in fact, that herby aroma is something I adore. I could definitely detect something lavender-ish in there. I worried it'd be a little unpleasant to use the first time because I'd been suffering with an extreme migraine, and I worried the strong scent on my face would really be bad. I tried it anyways, and after applying it, the strength I noticed in the bottle was very light when only on my skin. Even with my sensitive nose, I can handle keeping it on overnight without issue. I forget all about it!

Results

Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever is an orange color, and even when I pump some onto a cloth, it's orange. However, it goes on my skin clear and when absorbed, there's nothing left behind.

It does feel slightly oily on my hands, but not anything that aggravates me, and you all know how picky I am about any oily or sticky residues! This isn't even noticeable after asborbing, and I love that I can feel my skin and it just feels natural afterward.

It's thin and runny, not thick and greasy like a lotion or butter. More like a serum, I suppose. I kind of expected it to have the feel of olive or vegetable oil on my skin. For some reason olive and vegetable oil make my skin itchy I think because the thickness of it does something to those tiny peach fuzzies on my cheeks. This was great! I didn't feel a heavy residue on my skin.

The first time I used Seabuckthorn I noticed my skin looking nice as soon as I emerged from the shower! That is a rarity. No angry red spots. No dry patches and thankfully no tight skin from being dried out. It looked and felt soft. It seems my pores look smaller. The biggest thing I noticed though, was that those tiny scars that sometimes just make their appearance more noticeable at different times, on my cheeks, were hardly even noticeable!

So after that, I combined a little bit of my aloe plant to the couple of bumps I had, and then when I went to shower, used the Seabuckthorn stuff. Huge accomplishment! My face looks amazing. This is definitely the softest its ever felt. Lotion makes it sticky, but moisturizes, you know? But you're always left with some type of sticky-like or greasy residue. I'm really impressed at how I don't have any of that with this Seabuckthorn stuff. And it's so moisturizing that I don't have to add a moisturizer afterward and before putting on makeup. It's a very amazing product. I love that you do see results when using.

I can run my fingers across those little scars on my cheek and I hardly feel them. I'm actually beginning to think they will completely fade in a short time of continuing use! That would be fantastic, and rest assured, I will keep you guys updated on progress!

Oil Absorbing Papers - Aburatorigami

Aburatorigami, commonly known to most of us simply as "oil absorbing sheets." With flecks of gold embedded into these sheets, suddenly mopping the excess oil of your face feels... like luxury treatment.

As if golden-flecked oil absorbing sheets wasn't enough, these biodegradable babies are handmade in Japan.

And each handmade sheet is the size of my hand.
Forget those tiny little sheets that only fit the tip of
your nose -- Tatcha's Beauty Papers are large enough to take care of your entire face, and if it isn't as oily as mine, probably more.

Say your cleavage gets sweaty?
Put the rest of that Beauty Paper to work rather than tossing it away.
If you aren't the kind of oily-foreheaded girl that needs such large oil blotting sheets, or perhaps you just want them to fit in a tiny clutch, these are available in smaller sizes, called the "Evening Aburatorigami."
Sizes:
Evening Aburatorigami size: 2.6"  X  2.6"
Original Aburatorigami size: 3.74"  X  3.74"

                   HOW TO USE ABURATORIGAMI

Most of you know or have personally used some type of oil absorbing papers, but nonetheless, here's the instructions.

Step 1.  Take the Aburatorigami from the envelope.

Step 2.  Dab the paper all over your face, or wherever you have excess oil. For me, this would be, well, everywhere. Only kidding somewhat, but I have one awful T-zone area. Imagine how nice I felt after sweating in the tanning bed?  Thankfully, I had these still in their package from when they arrived, and sitting in the back of my car. The guy working at t he bookstore didn't have to see his reflection on my forehead. Talk about a life-saver, right?

Sillyness aside, I truly enjoy the simple and quick "clean-up" these sheets provide.  It's a far better solution than having to cake on foundation/powders throughout the day. These remove the excess oiliness without stripping your skin of the necessary oils.

Why the work of art, you ask?  Guys, this is sad, but the photo above and the one below, they are not works of art. No. Sorry to disappoint, but these are not fabulous sketches of some unique design. They're actually the used blotting papers after I blotted my face!

As you can see, the thin papers turn transparent once they've absorbed oil from your skin. It's really neat! These are similar to those you buy at a drugstore only so much nicer, handmade, much larger, and did I mention they have gold flecks?

These kept my skin free of shine for at least 2 hours longer than the Neutrogena ones. Yes,  I compared them! Right now, I would estimate that it's been about 9 hours since I used that Beauty Paper--you seen the results in the photo--and my forehead has now been de-shined.
