What I love about Organic Excellence’s Spearmint Body
Wash :
- Contains certified
organic ingredients & herbs! I love skin products that have helpful
ingredients instead of harmful ones & herbs are so beneficial for skin.
-No harmful chemicals, sulfates or harsh detergents.
- No Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which
are the ingredients used for the lathering and foaming action, but they’re so
harmful that it’s best to not use them.
-“Certified organic herbs help improve tissue regeneration,
reduce inflammation and gently exfoliate to reveal younger looking, brighter
skin.”
Ingredients
Purified Water, Vegetable Glycerin, Spearmint Oil*, Walnut
Husk*, Fennel Extract*, Hops Extract, Chamomile Extract*, Balm Mint Extract,
Mistletoe Extract*, Yarrow Extract, Citric Acid, Olive Leaf Extract*, Ginger
Extract*, Milk Thistle Extract*, Sage Extract*, Rosemary Extract*, Grape Seed
Extract*. *Certified Organic Herb
Since Organic Excellence’s shampoos and soaps don’t contain
sulfates, there’s less lathering/foaming, so this is a little different if you're used to a lathery shower gel. You
may even find yourself using a lot more product than you expect until
you get used to it. But this doesn’t affect the benefits
or the use of the product in any negative way. In fact, I prefer sulfates-free
soap products.
The Spearmint Body Wash is safe for all skin types and can be used on your body and face.
The Spearmint Body wash is a clear, gel-like wash with small
flecks of herbs. You may be able to see in my photo above. I wanted to give ya'll an idea of what it looked like.
It has a minty smell, which is pleasant since the mint smell
is associated with cleanliness. It isn’t strong and cleans my skin without
lingering on my body strongly. I like this because it means it won’t overpower
any perfume I may use.
After using the Spearmint Body Wash, my skin is soft and
smooth instead of dried out, which is what I get with other soaps. This organic
body wash is an amazing alternative to drugstore soaps, and even more amazing
for people with skin problems since the chemicals in most drugstore soaps play
a huge factor in your skin. Most skin issues are made worse or even caused
especially from the harmful ingredients in soaps.
My family and I know the
truth in this, especially one of the kids who had terrible issues with his
skin. His hands were raw and bloody from irritation and what looked like
psoriasis, which none of us have ever had before. When I switched to all
natural soaps, every one of us started seeing major changes. His hands are not
raw or bloody. They’re totally normal! The 7 year old was suffering from UTI’s
all due to the soaps she was using – soaps that were made for kids! This just
goes to show that just because it says “for kids” or “for sensitive skin” means
absolutely nothing unless the ingredients can back it up.
When she began having UTI’s, I knew she had to have been
using soap with fragrance and/or glycerin, which is the number one cause of UTI’s
and some yeast infections. She too started using the natural soaps & hasn’t had a single problem since. If
you suffer from problems like this, I cannot stress enough the importance of
changing the soaps you use! You will see a difference, I promise.
I know, I never shut up, but I want to share this because it’ll
be important for at least some person out there.
My twin sister has suffered from UTI’s and severe kidney
problems (kidney stones, etc.) for as long as we can remember. I remember her
having a UTI as young as four years old. Now in our adult years, nothing had
changed. She was still suffering all the time. I hounded her for months about
the bar soap she was using. I finally gave her some of the natural body wash
and she said she hasn’t even felt the typical UTI symptoms that she was
suffering from even when she didn’t have a full-blown infection.
The Spearmint Body Wash has glycerin obtained from vegetable
sources, which is safer and less likely to cause UTI’s and yeast infections
than glycerin you see in drugstore brands – synthetic glycerin.
And if you thought your showering routine wouldn't be complete without an organic shampoo and conditioner, there's good news! Organic Excellence also has the organic Wild Mint Shampoo and the organic Wild Mint conditioner! Now you can rejoice.
Here's photos of samples of both the organic shampoo and conditioner.

So now that you've seen the samples of the Wild Mint Shampoo and Wild Mint Conditioner, I'll explain some things about them and then tell the results of using them.
The Wild Mint Shampoo and the Wild Mint Conditioner are both organic and chemical free -- as all Organic Excellence products are.
The reason I like the Wild Mint shampoo and conditioner so much is because they're organic, a wonderful alternative to your typical drugstore shampoos and conditioners, which contain loads of harmful ingredients.
Besides being so much healthier for your hair (and you), there's a little more difference between Organic Excellence's organic shampoo and what your drugstore shampoo is like. That would be the foaming and lathering that you experience from non-natural shampoos. This is because those contain harmful ingredients called sulfates. Sulfates are what create the lathering, foaming action.
Organic shampoo does not have lather up or foam. This is really different to get used to because at first, you tend to wonder if you've gotten all parts of your hair since you can't feel foamy suds all over your head. This also means using more product to cover your entire head. However, the benefits outweigh that greatly and you do get used to it in time.
The Wild Mint Shampoo and conditioner both have a light minty smell, probably due to an ingredient being peppermint oil. The smell is light and doesn't linger in my hair. After I've washed my hair and gotten out of the shower, I no longer get whiffs of the mint smell at all in my hair. Not that it would be a bad thing if I did, but just for your information, there's no smell.
I've taken photos of the Wild Mint Shampoo and the Wild Mint Conditioner in hopes of showing you what they look like. They really don't differ that much from any other shampoo or conditioner looks wise.

Now I'd like to share my results after using the Wild Mint Shampoo and the Wild Mint Conditioner.
The first thing I ever noticed after I used Organic Excellence's shampoo and conditioner was the next day, when I went to flat iron my hair, it was so unbelievably easy! See, I usually wash my hair and then have to flat iron as soon as it dries because if I go to bed without ironing it, it's a total mess the next day and almost impossible to deal with! It's knotted up, the ends are so dry and split that they actually make crunching sounds while I'm trying to get my straightener through my tangled hair. It's really bad. And once it is ironed, it looks dull and the split ends are outrageous! It always takes me at least an hour to fully iron my hair if I've gone to bed without straightening after washing.
So the first time I used the Wild Mint Shampoo and Conditioner, I didn't get a chance to iron my hair before bed. So the next day, I dreaded even picking up my iron, but when I removed my pony tail, my hair was soft! No fluffed-up, crazy wild, hard hair freaking out all over my head. I ran my fingers through it without jerking my hair out. Keep in mind, I hadn't even put a brush through it. My hair is poofy and all over my head before straightening. So this was like a miracle.
It took me less than 20 minutes to completely iron my hair! This shampoo and conditioner made such an enormous difference that it's unreal. My straightener just glided right through my hair and there wasn't any tangling or crunchy sounds! And the split ends that normally stick out all over and are so horrible, weren't hardly even noticeable. I closely examined my ends after ironing it (the day after my first use of the shampoo and conditioner) and was actually shocked.
This is so surprising to me because I even use hair masks (natural ones!) and stuff to help with my crunchy, dry, crazy hair and still have hell getting a flat iron through my hair and never end up without the wild split ends. No matter how long I leave in my mask. So this was a big thing for me to see such a big difference. I actually thought my hair was just helpless and that it'd be that way forever since I'd used all sorts of stuff without it doing any good.
My hair feels smooth and even healthy. It has a bit more shine to it and it doesn't have that dull, dry look to it. It looks great and anything that can cut my ironing time down from one hour to less than 20 minutes is a BFF of mine!
