What is Seabuckthorn?
Seabuckthorn, also known as Hippophae L. is one of seven species of a berry found in Europe and Asia. Here, I've found a photo of what Seabuckthorn berries look like. On the lovely, bright orange packaging of Seabuck Wonders' there's photos of the orange berries too, so it was nice to see what they actually look like, since I'd never know about Seabuckthorn at all until just this past month.

The Seabuckthorn berries are edible and nutritious, which is why Seabuck Wonders sell all kinds of Seabuckthorn berry and oil products to help in all sorts of health concerns or just for better health in general!
Seabuckthorn berries contain phytochemicals, which may very well mean they can have some very amazing benefits for health since phytochemicals are anti-inflammatory, may prevent cancer and are great for digestive system ailments and many more! The fruit is high in Vitamin C with an average content of about 15 times greater than that found in oranges! It also is high in caratenoids, Vitamin E, Amino Acids, Polyphenols, Flavanoids, etc.
Seabuckthorn has a history in traditional medicine, and has been used to treat all sorts of disease. It's been used as an herbal remedy in China and Asia for centuries to treat ailments such as coughs, blood circulation, digestion, to alleviate pain and more. Parts of the plant, the leaves and bark have been used to treat diarrhea as well as dermatological disorders.
Seabuckthorn has hemostatic and anti-inflammatory properties, which is why it's also been used in medications for pulmonary, cardiac, blood, gastrointestinal and metabolic disorders in Indian, Chinese and Tibetan medicines.
The Seabuckthorn Hydrating Serum contains a highly concentrated infusion of Omega 3, 6, 9 and 7.
Serum droplet, not rubbed in. |
In the photos above, you can see the Seabuckthorn Hydrating Serum right after I applied it to my hand. First I pumped some onto my hand right from the bottle, took a photo (the top one) and then rubbed it in slightly and took another. After massaging it into the skin for a couple of seconds, it totall absorbs and doesn't leave you all wet and shiny.
The Seabuckthorn Serum is clear in color perhaps with a touch of orange, I'm not sure but I don't notice an orange color so much when I rub on my face. Like the Facial Wash and Facial Cream from Seabuck Wonders, this serum also comes in a pump-style bottle, which is super convenient.
I just pump a few drops on my hand and then massage all over my face and neck right after showering. Afterward, I've also been using a drop of the Seabuck Wonders Face Cream.
I like this Deep Hydrating Serum obviously for its hydrating effects, but it also "renews" and I could certainly use that. It seems I have excessively dry or oily skin in random areas and the occasional full-forehead break outs, so I like to use something that will dry those babies up and take away the lengthy red-zit process. It seems this is really good for that, especially taking the redness and swelling down.
It does leave my skin looking less dull than what I am used to. There's some glow going on as well, and thankfully, this stuff doesn't leave me greasy or sticky. The only residue I notice after using the Deep Hydrating Serum is for a few minutes I'll feel a slightly grabby, but not stickyness on my skin. When I touch my face I notice a little grab or whatever you'd call it. This only lasts until it's totally absorbed, which I'd say takes around 5-10 minutes.
Another awesome thing is I can apply the serum after showering and then apply makeup like foundation and bronzer without it reacting negatively. I've had an anti-aging serum once that would roll up into tiny balls if I applied any kind of makeup to my face after using! A lot of face creams do that as well, but the Seabuck Wonders has been perfectly fine for using before makeup application. It doesn't leave me streaky or anything, but allows a smooth complexion, which is partly thanks to this serum doing its lovely renewing.
