Amazing grass Wheatgrass powders, flavors and benefits!

You guys have been with me in a lot of my journey with my health and battling different conditions, all which I've managed to get under control or eliminate or am working on now. Upon learning all the benefits of Wheatgrass, I couldn't help but share it with ya'll. For the past couple of weeks I've been on an Amazing Grass kick and am loving every bit of Amazing Grass' products! Now I want to share my experience with Amazing Grass as well as the benefits of using wheatgrass.

One of the best things, and something that gives Amazing Grass an advantage over other wheatgrass manufacturers/sellers, is their huge, fantastic variety of wheatgrass and flavored wheatgrass. As you'll see in my photos, Amazing Grass truly offers a unique selection, and has gone so far as to make wheatgrass tasty such as with their Chocolate flavored Wheatgrass for Kidz...or for Kendraz. Ha. Ha. I am even fond of the Kidz versions! I will go into detail about the super unique variety of products Amazing Grass offers.

Unlike any other wheatgrass company I've ever known of, Amazing Grass has a selection of wheatgrass powders called Amazing Meal as well as the Kidz Superfoods and some more I'll talk about. I really love this about Amazing Grass. You have your different categories so that you can choose what best suits you and your family. The Amazing Meal is wonderful because it's tasty, extremely nutritional and can totally take away your hunger without diminishing your body of any important nutrient. Not even one! In all honesty, most of us don't even get as much nutrition in a month as you do out of one Amazing Meal packet.

Amazing Meal comes in a variety of different flavors including: Vanilla Chai, Original Blend, Pomegranate Mango and Chocolate Infusion. Vanilla is lovely. A creamy, tasty, vanilla flavor with hints of coconut to my taste buds. You can taste the grassy-like taste that is expected with any wheatgrass, but Amazing Grass' Amazing Meal and Kidz Superfood versions taste better and less like a freshly mowed lawn than any wheatgrass I have ever tried. This plus it being all organic makes it my ideal choice for myself and my family.

The Amazing Meal version contains plant-based protein,  vegetables and fruits. Each serving has 10 grams of complete protein and 6 grams of fiber.

How to use the Amazing Grass powder products

The organic wheatgrass superfoods in powder form come in simple, easy to use packets. You tear them open (no scissors needed!) and empty contents into about anything you desire. I've dumped the powders into many different drinks, shakes, water, juices. I've added them to coffee (the Vanilla Chai does well with this whereas the Mixed Berry may not), juices (Pomegranate Mango does beautiful mixed with almost any juice. Makes cranberry juice tastier), water, etc.

And when it comes to the Kidz Superfood versions -- which comes in the following flavors: Lemon Lime, Orange Dreamsicle, Chocolate, Wild Berry -- I like the taste so much that I can simply dump the powder onto my tongue and swallow. Then take a swig of water or something. I actually done this with the Mixed Berry just tonight. It's easy and quick for when you're in a hurry or enjoy it this way. Let me just say, Orange Dreamsicle is bound to be a favorite of anybody. I really could not imagine someone not at least being OK with that flavor. I loved it.

As you see in my photo above, the Amazing Meal Shaker Cup Combo comes with a lovely, very handy cup.

Included with this combo is:

 -Shaker Cup
-Each Amazing Meal flavor (4 packets total)

It has a the measurements listed on the side and is NOT a spillable cup! Filled all the way, it holds 16 OZ.  I have actually used this cup every single day for both my wheatgrass drinks, coffee and water since I got it. I love adding a few ice cubes, Amazing Meal packet, and coffee then shaking it. It's kind of foamy and delicious! I even added a half a scoop of Whey Protein along with my Amazing Meal today. I love that the cup has a snap on and off lid that's easy to open and drink from. It shuts totally making it easy to add contents, close the lid and shake vigorously with NO spilling! It's been my "on-the-go-Amazing-Meal-cup." I take it with me anytime I'm in a hurry to leave.

I'm doing this since the other flavors of the Amazing Meal do slightly differ ingredient wise from the chocolate. Listing the one was to give you an idea of them as a whole. If you wish to view the exact nutrition label for the other flavors, simply click their names and you'll be taken to the page. As I said, they are all very similar to the Chocolate, but do slightly differ.

Kidz Superfood blends are recommended for kids ages 2 and up. Each of the Kidz Superfoods ingredients only slightly differ, so I figured it best not to make the HUGE post of including every single detail for each and every flavor. However, the one provided above is for the chocolate. For instance, the Berry flavor includes a few extra ingredients like Hibiscus and guar gum. Since I won't put every nutrition list here, I will put a link to each flavor so you can view them yourself below by clicking the name of flavor:

And with the Kidz Superfood Combo, you get the Kidz drink powders along with this awesome Kidz Shaker Cup. I actually have used this cup. It's not even embarrassing to use as an adult! It's also non-spilly. It doesn't leak and is something my neice has thoroughly enjoyed drinking from. She's not a picky wheatgrass drinker. As long as I have my cup of wheatgrass, she'll drink a decent amount from hers. She's a chocolate wheatgrass fan. That one seemed her favorite, and I don't blame her.

One Shaker Cup Combo comes with:
-Cup
-2 Chocolate wheatgrass packets
-2 Mixed Berry wheagrass packets
-$5 off coupon for 30 or 60 serving Kidz Superfood
-Simple and tasty smoothie recipe

This cup is cute, it's entertaining for kids. My neice likes naming off the cute characters on the cup and what they are doing. This one has a removable straw for easy cleaning and the little plastic straw slide up and closed to prevent leaking. You can add the juice/milk and the wheatgrass Kidz Superfood and shake with no spills!

Here is what one of the Amazing Grass packets, poured out into my hand looks like:

One thing I like a lot about Amazing Grass wheatgrass is how fine the powders are. I haven't ever had wheatgrass in powder form that wasn't extremely "pulpy." Wheatgrass, no matter how finely chopped will usually be grainy or pulpy in your drink and settle to the bottom if not stirred. This also means you can feel the slight grit in your mouth. Amazing Grass' powders aren't near as gritty as others I have used. That's definitely appreciated by my taste buds!

Oh, and something to note "Amazing grass is from farms, not factories." Amazing Grass products are Kosher Certified!

Benefits of wheatgrass:

*Toothaches. Ya'll have read my huge dilemmas over the last year with my teeth. I've been through heck and finally decided to quit toothpaste and start brushing with soap! I've made huge changes in my everyday mouth habits in hopes of healing a couple of teeth. So after 3 months ago when my dentist drilled 3 teeth and only temporarily filled them and proceeded to tell me "Oh! Looks like I've used up all your insurance, but you really need to come back in 3 weeks so I can fill your teeth with permanant fillers!" Yea, so all those needless visits he requested me to show up for, the ones where he spent five minutes tapping my teeth, I guess that was his nice way of milking the heck out of my insurance. So I buckled down, decided I didn't need him. I'd try to do what  I can do without the drills, fills and mercury. However, there is some pain with that since I have a half done root canal, one that I paid in FULL for, 3 drilled teeth and another tooth with pain because my dentist chipped it while extracting my wisdom!

So when you have a toothache or have been crazily drilled at by a dentist with no intentions to actually help your teeth, you're in some luck in the pain department. You can mix the wheatgrass powder with water, but I just dump a bunch of the powder into my mouth and it'll get wet by all the spit I produce while holding it. Then I focus on holding the powder and spit wherever the pain is. I usually swish it around my mouth for about 2-3 minutes afterward. Then rinse. I wouldn't swallow it.

* Detox!  Wheatgrass can be used to detox your liver, kidneys, etc. For those trying to shed a few extra pounds, wheatgrass is your best friend for life. If you're dieting, wheatgrass should be consumed regularly. This is a must. It'll replace lost nutrients and probably even give you more nutrients than you had before dieting! Also, the great amount of nutrients in the wheatgrass will keep your immune system strong, help with detoxing, and give you energy.

Some people like to detox to lose weight, then you have those of us who just want to stay healthy. I personally have shared with you my own ailments over the year. I've suffered from IBS (ugghhh!) and endometriosis. You guys already know that I eat my aloe vera plant, which helps wonderfully. Wheatgrass is something that helps as well. However, given that I have the sensitive digestive system, I have to take it slower than someone who doesn't. For instance, my lovie can literally down 2 glasses (2 packets of wheatgrass powder) in less than a couple minutes without ever having the slightest stomach rumble. Then you have me who has to only drink a half a glass (half a packet of wheatgrass) to be sure my stomach doesn't get upset. I haven't had this happen while using Amazing Grass Wheatgrass, but in the past it has. I can definitely say Amazing Grass will absolutely without a doubt detox ya! I've been experiencing that pretty big time over the past 3 days. No bad side effects though, which I'm ever so grateful for.

*Weight Loss. As I've already said, wheatgrass is a perfect way to "cleanse" or detox since it's safe and natural and does not have toxic side effects. It will however eliminate toxins in the body and it's possible you'll see/feel it. It's not bad for me since I'm not trying to lose weight, but trying to get healthier. I think it's amazing for helping you not eat as much. The one and a half cup my lovie and I shared the other day made me so full I could barely eat for the entire evening & night.  If portion control is your problem, Amazing Grass has you covered with their tasty flavored drinks. Add milk to one such as the vanilla flavor and whatever craving you had will more than likely disappear! I'd be surprised if anyone was still hungry right after that. Also, since Amazing Grass' products are so very packed with nutrients and vegetable and all that good stuff, you're naturally going to have a very full feeling for a good while.

*And my absolute favorite, Energy! Ahh! Nothing is quite like the energy you get from wheatgrass! I tell you, Sunday and Monday were such rough days. We were exhausted. Getting ready for our Panama trip this week and cleaning like crazy, kids, kids, kids, and plus both me and my lovie working way over time had us feeling like zombies. I felt like total sh**! Then we were just beginning to drink our wheatgrass. Lovie was passing out randomly on me all week and was so exhausted that I'd started truly worrying about him. Today is Thursday and that heifer was busting with energy today. Yesterday is when the improvement was kicking in. He felt better, no trouble staying awake, but still quite tired. Today he was good to go. He's told me before when we tried wheatgrass in pill form that it got rid of his headaches and made him feel "so good!" He's told me he's been able to work so much harder.

We both exercise -- him with weights and such, me on a fitness pole and walking. In these hot months it's hard to find the energy to do this, and he noticed a big improvement before I even did. And I'm supposed to be the healthy one here! I eat way healthier, take my aloe religiously, etc. And yet he feels better sooner. Me on the other hand, I get migraines so often and working in nail design is a sure fire way to bring on a killer migraine, especially this week with all the over time. I did experience a headache that I couldn't quite get rid of completely yesterday and all night. I took two BC powders and still had a bit of one nagging at me. This can be a side effect of the beginning of a wheatgrass detox. Flushin' out all those toxins can be cause this, but it's not horrible, and today I've done far better. I worked for hours in a not-well-ventilated area today designing with tons of nail polish and paints and I've not had such a bad a headache today.

*Constipation.  Yep, I had to go there, but it's true. A lot of people use wheatgrass juice to solve this problem, and I can say for sure, it works! If you've ever wondered if wheatgrass will get rid of built up waste, wonder no more my friend. And if you think you have a large amount, go easy. It will really get things movin'. I've known some people who even use wheatgrass juice as an... enema! (Gulp). I am not saying to do this. I don't know what exactly would happen besides a lot of pooping. But I have never put anything in that... orifice, so I would personally never do it. I would recommend trying to drink a packet of Amazing Grass for a couple of days before resorting to something that extreme. It may take a day or two, but you will definitely see a difference in the constipation department. Possibly even a really massive difference. Don't say I didn't warn ya. I love that it's a natural way to do this, so you people who are hooked on laxatives and that type of thing, give wheatgrass a try. It's a great alternative to having to use laxatives with only God-knows-what in them. Again, laxatives are not something I have ever used, but I'm absolutely positive that wheatgrass is a better alternative. I personally only go the natural route when it comes to this. Drink plenty of water, eat vegetables and drink wheatgrass (maybe add a tiny bit of alloin to it to really move things along), but I hardly ever think there's a reason to go any other route than natural. Too scary for me. So give the laxatives a break and try the wheatgrass! And definitely, tell me your results.

*High Blood Pressure

*Wheatgrass is said to have the ability to DISSOLVE tumors! It is often recommended by doctors (you know, the good doctors that aren't out to kill for money. Sorry I'm on a mini rampage against that profession these days.)  for cancer patients. Clearly you see that with all the nutrients and such that it contains, it's going to be good for anybody, and especially someone who's dealing with terminal illness. There's at least one person who's made serious claims about wheatgrass (and a few other dietary changes like taking other good-for-you-stuff) ridding her of cancer. You're free to look up all the information and see it online.

* Skin problems. Many different skin problems benefit from wheatgrass. Just to name some: eczema,

*Chlorophyll in wheatgrass is anti-bacterial.  It can heal internally and externally.

*Digestive disorders: Colitis, divirticulitis, IBS,  Gastritis, hemorrhoids, nasal problems (build of of even hardened stuff in nasal passages), athlete's foot, fatigue, liver problems (flushes liver of toxins), tooth pain, gums, cleanses intestines, etc.

*Studies show within two weeks of drinking wheatgrass, the blood is detoxified.

*Strengthens immune system.

*Helps with obesity.

*Prevents anemia, and all sort of disease.

*Removes heavy metals from the body.

* Eliminates Bad breath!

*Contains excellent amounts of calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, potassium, folic acid, major and minor minerals, b vitamins, chlorophyll, etc.

*Wheatgrass has a high content of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is molecularly similar to hemoglobin (red blood cells), so it has the ability to break down poisonous carbon dioxide and release free oxygen.  This inhibits and reduces the action of disease producing micro-organism.

*Stimulates healthy tissue cell growth.

*Removes toxins from the lymph system.

*Wheatgrass juice's high enzyme content is said to have the ability to dissolve tumors.

And there's plenty more benefits, but we'll stop here.

Couple different ways to use wheatgrass:

* Drink it. Mix wheatgrass powder into any shake, smoothie, milkshake, coffee, juice, water.

* Sprinkle on food.

* Use as a facial mask for skin benefits. You can also add to your bath. If you're interested in a wheatgrass facial mask, see my post on DIY face & body scrub. Simply add the wheatgrass powder into your other ingredients. I've given detailed instructions on the DIY face & body scrub post.

* And if you just don't have time or do not want to drink a cup of whatever you plan to mix the wheatgrass powder with, there's another way, but you may need some guts for this. Take the packet of wheatgrass powder and have a drink on hand. Really close. Actually, go ahead and remove any lid from the drink cup and have it in hand! Pour only a small amount of wheatgrass powder onto the back of your tongue and swallow. Chase with a drink! You can continue dumping the powder from the pack and into your mouth until you've reached the desired limit or until you've finished the packet. Like I said, my little stomach is so sensitive that I'm best to only do a half a pack. So I simply dump on my tongue, swallow and drink. For me, this isn't horrid because I'm used to dumping BC powders on my tongue, swallowing with a drink. It took me 5 years to be able to handle doing that though! I'm a wuss though. And in all honesty, the wheatgrass powder isn't bad at all. Even better with Amazing Grass' flavored versions. It's not bad at all.

*Capsules (pill form) I can't say for sure the wheatgrass powder will be AS effective taking it in pill form, but I know it'd still be plenty effective. You can get some empty capsules if you absolutely cannot drink the wheatgrass juice. Scoop the powder into capsules and take them like you would a vitamin.
