Ya'll know I harbor a deep love for energy and that I'm always on the hunt for a new, effective energy supplement.
Over the last several months, I've been on this hunt constantly.
Over the last several months, I've been on this hunt constantly.
While I do have a passion for energy and health supplements, in general, lately, I've been battling with some trouble mood-wise, too.
I tend to be a fatigued person, both mentally and physically, but add Winter and whatever else to the mix and I just can't seem to break this cycle of recurring melancholy.
After a lengthy time researching, and then looking for something to help fix this recurring fatigue and melancholy, I was introduced to Motivation (a blessing, for sure).
Motivation is an herbal and caffeine based supplement to help enhance mood and energy. Being a lover of herbal remedies and a hard-core believer in going the safe, natural route in any way possible, I was interested in trying this one.
Before I go further and get all detail-y about the Motivation capsules and their ingredients and all that good stuff, let me just sum up Motivation in one sentence:
Motivation is by far, without a doubt my favorite energy and mood boosting supplement! I can confidently say that this is the best energy and mood boosting product I have yet to use.
I have experimented with it for the last month + and have taken a host of other similar types on the market (just look through my posts) and there's definitely nothing that gives me the same results as this. Nothing lasts as long, either, which is one of the best things about it.
(Okay, that was more like a paragraph, not a sentence, but you should've learned by now that I don't shut up. The only promises I can't keep are those concerning my big mouth. Never trust me if I say I'll be brief, or "one sentence.")
For me? All of the above. (Image source: www.facebookfamilyfeudguide.com) |
More About My "Symptoms" I'm Trying to Counteract By Using Motivation:
It isn't depression, although I do have to be careful and watch out for Seasonal Depresion, as I am a little prone to it -- but it's usually minor. Last year was one of the very few times it's ever gotten past a minor level.

Since my trouble tends to be both melancholy and fatigue, I got to searching for something to help with it before it gets worse, and also because it's really affecting me and my work, so I had to do something to help brighten my mood and get myself motivated, which is very fitting since the product I'm talking about is called "Motivation."
After being online for what would equal up to days if I counted all the hours -- discussing my issues with many of you and other people, as well as trying to learn more about what could help me, and preferrably a natural remedy -- a few of you mentioned that you'd been wanting to hear if this energy and mood enhancer would "work."
So, off I go to look into the ingredients in Motivation, and boy was I already getting excited. I recognized most of the ingredients as very successful for combatting fatigue and helping with mental fatigue and mood, so I was automatically interested.
My Experience with Motivation
Fast forward to a few nights ago when Motivation arrived and I took the first capsule -- things were looking up already, but due to being so tired when I started, I didn't get to experience the full effects until the last few days.
The next time I took Motivation, (the other day), I took one capsule a while after waking.
Since I was feeling draggy and it was an ugly, rainy day -- which increases the melancholy for me double-fold -- I went ahead and took one before I even got out of bed.
One capsule of Motivation contains 200 milligrams of caffeine, amongst other great herbs to enhance mood and give you energy, all of which I'm going to discuss in a moment.
By the time I'd gotten out of bed, I was zooming all over the place! I expected to feel better, but I certainly didn't expect to be all over the place, getting all sorts of things done.
The most impressive thing about Motivation (aside from the fantastic energy and pop of happiness I get from it) is how long the effects last. I didn't think I'd ever calm down!
The "peak" stays even throughout around 3 hours before it starts to mellow, and even then, there's nothing "mellow" about it. I had enough energy and motivation (awesome to finally feel motivated and not draggy) to work on a project, write 2,000+ word article, spend an hour non-stop talking to a friend and still clean the house up. All in one capsule!
I didn't feel the effects completely wear off until 5 hours had passed, and I am quite used to taking herbal supplements (and others like caffeine) for energy and mental alertness.
5 hours of that much energy without dwindling down is unheard of for me. I never have those effects, and usually just end up feeling yucky off energy products or either with stomach discomfort, which can happen with this much caffeine, so I do not take it without eating a little something.
Which reminds me : It's good to eat something when taking Motivation as caffeine can cause stomach discomfort, and I am very prone to that. I've had no awful effects from Motivation, but when I took it before eating -- first thing in the morning with nothing on my stomach -- I experienced some stomach "bubbling," which dissipated immediately after eating a snack.
Around 12 AM (almost 3 hours ago now) I took another capsule of Motivation. And well, here we are. I worked all night and now I'm up writing this review on Motivation! Talk about being Motivated, huh?
Oh, and I also was finally motivated to get the pumpkin from Halloween off the porch, cut it and roast the seeds for a good snack! That pumpkin has sat there since Halloween. I just haven't felt like touching it, and now we have a pan full of cooked pumpkin seeds and a huge leftover pumpkin in the fridge that I plan to puree tomorrow and make some delicious smoothie out of.
The above is a good example of what Motivation can do. I've been going since the first capsule at 3PM today. I've gotten more done today than I have all week long, which is sad, but I can't explain how happy it feels to have some relief from that dreadful feeling of melancholy. Gosh. I'd almost rather feel anger than melancholy.
I've been taking Motivation daily for about 2 weeks at the time of writing this sentence (I wrote part of this post about a week ago), and I can say for certain that this stuff is a God-send! A real blessing.
Days like today, I am so sluggish and dragging-butt that I wonder if I'd even make it far without having the boost Motivation gives me.
I also wanted to come back and make a note of the significant mood lift! Yesterday, I woke up furious. I did the day before, too. It has been happening a lot this week.
But yesterday. It was so bad that my frustration was nearly to the point of ruining my entire day -- and I'd only just woke up. It was bad. This doesn't happen to me often, but when a lot of stress and issues strike on just the right week of the month, I cannot fight it. I feel extremely irritated and can't make it go away. So much that I even irritate my own self!
Anyways, it's bad. You get it. I took one Motivation and by the time it kicked in, I experienced a massive increase in mood! I could not believe anything could uplift the horrible feelings I was having. I'm talking on the verge of a screamin' breakdown, and shortly after taking Motivation I was smiling and completely calmed down.
Helping my mood and energy to that extent gets Motivation huge kudos/brownie points in my book. It's a supplement I'll be keeping on-hand at all times.

Moving on to the Motivation Supplement itself. Below I'll explain the ingredients, their benefits and what Motivation does.
What Motivation Does
As the name suggests, Motivation motivates your un-motivated hiney!
Motivation -- with its 200 mg of caffeine per serving plus herbs that help to get you going -- is a great supplement for days when you're feeling mentally and physically fatigued, melancholic (like me!) and just plain tired or un-motivated. You know those days when you just can't seem to feel like doing anything? It's like you don't want to do anything that you normally want to do. Nothing is appealing to you and you just feel down in the dumps for whatever reason, or for no reason at all.
Motivation is inside vegetarian capsules, which aside from the healthy, effective, natural and safe ingredients, also made me interested in this supplement. It always makes me happier to know I'm using a trustworthy product that thinks about consumers' health. This is also a huge factor for me when shopping for supplements of any kind.
Motivation Ingredients
The "active" ingredients in Motivation include: Rhodiola, Ginseng and Green Tea Extract.
The Caffeine in Motivation comes from a natural, herbal source -- Guarana Seed Extract. Rhodiola, Ginseng and Guarana all happens to be one of the biggest factors for me when I try or buy or am shopping for an energy supplement.
These are a "must" for me in an energy supplement because I've found that they tend to be the most effective for me.
Motivation contains a 100% RDA dose of the complete B-Vitamin Complex to aid metabolism and maintain energy.
Guarana Seed Extract: A stimulant and appetite suppresant that contains a lot of caffeine. Increases energy, has anti-depressive effects, boosts memory. Helps maintain stamina and physical endurance.
Rhodiola Extract Root: is an adaptogenic, which you know if you read my recent Maca post, helps your body deal with stress. Rhodiola stimulates ATP production, which is what helps increase energy. I've gone into great detail about ATP and energy/mood in the past, so I won't do that here. Rhodiola has the ability to stabilize mood swings (which is why it impressed me and got me interested in trying a supplement with it. I've also used it in its plain form with nice results.)
Rhiodiola is partly why Motivation is so perfect: Energy plus mood boosts. That was exactly what I needed because I have really severe mood issues sometimes. As I explained earlier, I've had this on-going problem of going up and down in my mood for years. I can't ever figure out why it happens, even after all this time and after keeping journals of my daily routines and everything. It's very sudden and the changes are so drastic that my spouse notices and thinks something is badly wrong with me.
So, this is why I have to give Rhodiola praise (and also Motivation for being so fabulous to use ingredients that really target issues here). Rhodiola does plenty more things, too like increase stamina, reduce mental stress, improves memory and function, reduces anxiety and depression!
Aside from that, Rhodiola also has other health benefits such as aiding in weight loss, causes increase in oxygen to the heart, which means it acts as a possible protectant, in some ways. It contains antioxidants which are beneficial for an entire 'nother post-full of reasons. We will stop here, but I highly encourage ya'll to look into all the benefits of each of these ingredients. There are so many!

Asian Ginseng Extract: Also an adaptogenic that gives you energy. Ginseng enhances sexual and athletic performance, too! It's also an immune system-booster.
Ginseng's benefits are very similar to the other main ingredients we've discussed so far. It is also a memory-enhancer, stress reducer (in fact, it is used often to treat stress), lower blood sugar, etc.
L-Theanine: An amino acid. L- Theanine is another stress and anxiety reliever, but it also has calming effects, and more.
Green Tea Extract Leaf (90%) Polyphenols (50%): Contains antioxidants, provides nice, clean natural energy, detoxifies digestive system (which is why some people experience digestive changes when taking green tea extract supplements).
Vitamin B's (B1, B2, B6, B12): The combination of Vitamin B's can help with malnutrition, increases energy levels, combats fatigue. B6 helps with PMS and regulates hormones. B12 supports emotional well-being, reduces risk of heart disease, and also increases energy levels.
The full list of ingredients in Motivation:
Vitamin C (as Ascorbic Acid), Vitamin B1 (as Thiamine HCI), Vitamin B2 (as Riboflavin), Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid.
If you can't tell, I am really enthusiastic about taking Motivation due to the awesome ingredients. I love that it's not only a safe energy/mood supplement, but also has real health benefits! This makes me feel totally fine taking it daily and spending $ on an energy supplement. It even has some Vitamin C in it, and all those Vitamin B's! Amazing. Every energy supplement I've been fond of included Vitamin B's and the same herbs in them.
I don't think I've ever had this great of an experience and noticed results in my mood, too though.
Re-cap (for those of you who are not motivated enough to read my entire post)
I know, I get super lengthy, but hey, I'm just trying to provide you awesome readers with as much information as I can. I try to make headlines and sub-headings large and bold so you can skim or find the section of information you want most.
Now, this part really is the "re-cap:"
- Motivation is a "health-consciously" designed product and an herbal and caffeine-based supplement, which means it's safer than most energy products on the market, and since the ingredients are highly effective, most likely it will work better (it does for me.)
- There's no "crash" after the "come-down." In fact, there isn't even a "come-down" from Motivation. It's more like the effects just gradually die down.
- Motivation provides me with so much energy that I don't know where to put it all, which is likely why I'm putting most of it here.
I have racked my brain going over all the different energy supplements I've used, and the ones I've favored and used often, and have come to the conclusion that Motivation outdoes everything I've used energy-wise by a long shot.
- Motivation gives me motivation, which is why I'm so darn, friggin' happy because I was in dire need of a fix for fatigue and mental crappiness. I.e. It helps me handle mentally-taxing tasks so much better.
- It may be possible that the caffeine content can cause slight stomach discomfort. However, eating solved the problem for me the one time it ever did cause me any discomfort.
- Motivation does enhance my mood. I even skipped my daily maca powder dosages just to be sure I am able to see and report the full effects of Motivation without accidents and it does a magnificent job at improving my mood.
I still love the super dooper anti-depressant effects of maca, but I'm impressed with Motivation! It does a much better job at improving my mood than any other energy product, which usually just improves my energy and not my mood at all.
