Looking lovely, in the photos here you see a candle, a tea light candle and two soy tarts, all from the heavenly-smellin' Burning Desires!
The photo above shows one of the soy tarts in its pack. You can see that they're little square and if you've never seen soy tarts before, they're very easy to break and stick into the burner.
And if you've never heard of a soy tart, I'll explain things. You probably remember those little pots that you could melt candles in, right? They're like mini crock pots, only for candles. Well, these burners can be very handy for the cleaner, more eco friendly alternative to candles--soy tarts! Burning Desires also offer candles (as shown above) that are soy as well, rather than paraffin. Paraffin puts off black smoke, which can be very dangerous to your health. Soy is a healthier choice.
At Burning Desires you can find anything from the best smelling tarts you ever did smell to beautiful fairy and dragon figurines! With so much to choose from and such amazing fragrances, Burning Desires is the ideal place to shop when looking for gifts that just about anybody will love.
Oh, and of course you can also buy the burners at Burning Desires as well.
In my photos, you seen the tea light candle, which is a cucumber melon scent. You can purchase a 6 pack of the little tea light candles at an affordable price (currently $6). Each tea light candle will burn for approximately 6-8 hours each. I'm leaning more towards 6 hours with my cucumber melon scented one. I've burned it for quite a while, but not quite 6 hours yet and it's getting low.
A nice thing about these tea light candles is that after they've been fully burned, the flame will go out on its own. Those of us who forget easily can appreciate that. I left mine burning the other day and only minutes later, I came back into my room and the flame was gone! I had thought someone came in my room and blew it out, but I suppose it just went out. It wasn't completely melted either.
The cucumber melon scent is nice and very, very subtle. It's a great choice for those of us with sensitivity to scents or migraine-prone. I happen to be migraine prone. Any scent can give me an awful headache depending on the day and strength. None of the Burning Desires products have bothered me in the slightest, even on days when I already have a migraine! That's nice.
However, for those of you who like extremely overpowering, knock you down scents, you may want to choose something stronger than these. Lavendar is usually strong in any product and very relaxing.
When I light the soy candles or tarts and leave them burning in my bedroom, then come back in, I'm unable to smell anything. Sometimes if I have the candles or tarts near my bed and I sit down, I can get subtle whiffs of them. With the soy tarts (which are absolutely fabulous!) I can occasionally get whiffs of them as I walk by, but they do not scent the entire house, only the room it's burning in.
As for the soy tarts, I have both Pears and Berries and Amarretto. Both are the most fantastic candle/tart scents I have ever laid my nose on! I adore them. When I first looked at the white colored tart and read the scent "Pears and Berries" I thought, oh, pears and berries. I like to eat pears, but not berries and don't love either scent. I don't dislike the scents at all, but I just wasn't expecting the scent of the Pears and Berries scent to be so... magical, lovely, beautiful, heaven to my nose! AHHHH!
The scent is so sweet and fruity. I really can't detect a specific fruit, but I would agree with the title "berry..." Berry delicious, is what it is! I cannot get enough of these two tarts.
Amarretto brought one of my favorite things--chocolate covered cherries--to my mind upon sniffin' it! I love the smell. I'm really not huge on candles to be honest. There's something about most of them that's so synthetic and just.. blah, I guess. I don't necessarily hate synthetic, but most are overly done. Burning Desires tarts and soy candles certainly deserve credit here. The scents are so very unique. All those popular candles like "Yankee" are not my taste. I never buy those because to me, they plain stink. Very rarely do I find candles that I love, but when I do, I stock up. There's one in particular that I can't seem to find in many stores. It's a simple bamboo scent. I love it and haven't ever been able to find another scent company that sells such quality scents until Burning Desires.
If you're a candle lover or scent lover in general, I would about guarantee that Burning Desires would be beyond pleasing to you.
Interesting tip:
Some people like to use soy candles/tarts for massages as well! I actually have owned several and enjoyed them quite well. If you're a sucker for romantic night with your lovie or you just want a darn massage, trying soy candles for this would be fun. You do have to be careful which brand you choose for this and it may be best to buy one specifically for massages, but the tarts work too. Once they begin to dry though, they'll be crumbly.
See, the thing about soy is it's very smooth and soft and can even be moisturizing. Once melted, some of them make wonderful moisturizers or massage enhancers.
