Gleener: The Ultimate Fuzz Remover!

Gleener is so exciting and you're so lucky. Because by the time you finish this post, you'll know all about Gleener and my hairy wardrobe!

What is Gleener ?

That link up there, not supposed to be there. It goes to nothing guys, sorry. For some reason this new blogger is giving me horrid issues and acting wild.

Now I'll tell you what Gleener is.

Gleener is a fuzz remover, but quite more than that actually. Gleener is a double ended fuzz remover that comes with multiple blades for different types of fabric! Now you're seeing just how special this little dude really is.

Included with your Gleener is a nice velvety black drawstring bag for storing Gleener and its extras. The extras include 3 different removable blades that you can attach to one end of Gleener -- the thinner end, which I've shown in the photos. The larger end is a soft fabricy feeling thing, and is not removable, but oh so handy!

Also included is an instruction manual and paper that tells you everything you need to know about Gleener. A very awesome product if you ask me.

Before I go on to explain how each blade works and all that fun stuff, I want to ask how many of you own one of those blasted sweater shavers that you get at Bed Bath and Beyond or elsewhere? I'm curious because I once had that shaver. We're not even going to discuss why I no longer have that thing because well, the truth may be too gruesome for some to handle. So I'll put it nicely -- my old sweater shaver and I did not get along well, and he hasn't been in one piece since last January.

For those of you who do own a sweater shaver let me just reassure you. Gleener is not like your sweater shaver. And for those of you who don't own a sweater shaver, but think they sound nice, don't even! Go for Gleener instead. I'll explain...

I had a sweater shaver. That blasted thing did nothing!  So I retired it for a lint roller since it worked much better. My mom wears a lot of sweaters and they kept getting those rolly balls of fuzz and well, you know how hairy and messy sweaters can get. She always asked me to "shave" her sweaters, but I hated that dang shaver because it wouldn't remove the ballies. So I'd lint roll them instead and she'd complain of the balls still being there because well, let's face it, a sticky sheet of paper can only do so much.

One morning while shaving my mom's sweater with the shaver not the roller, it wasn't removing a single thing so that's when  I damaged him. Permanently. And resorted to hand picking the blasted furries and balls off! Imagine the horror. It takes forever! And you're still left with balls. So she's had to use various fuzz and fuzzy ball removing methods ever since. Duct tape, scotch tape, you name it. We've tried em' all.

Then I was introduced to Gleener. And the looks of it had me intrigued. I pictured all my mom's sweaters furry ball free and me not having to hand pick the blasted things off. I pictured my sweater dresses and leggings looking no longer like I'd collected my cat's shedding and rolled it into a dress, but like an actual garment.

I have a lovely gray sweater jacket that was worn only for one winter because it collected so much crap and fuzz balls. I have black fur lined leggings that look like hairy pants because I have kitties. Talk about going through some lint-rollers! I've had to lint roll myself before leaving the house for so long that I didn't know what to think when I first used Gleener!

Looking at the above photos you see the fatter end of Gleener. It's soft and wide, so it covers a lot of space and will not damage your fabrics. I took a photo (on the left) after Gleening my leggings. On the right is a cropped version so you could see the collected hairs close-up. You can't see them well, but you can see that Gleener jerked those suckers right up! Showed em' who's boss. The little black velvet Gleener pouch became hairy instantly when I got it due to my cats, so I Gleened it too! I couldn't believe how spotless everything is, and it's quick too. It doesn't leave anything behind! I simply rubbed this larger end across my leggings and they were hair-free, lint free and looked great. So then I was intrigued and had to Gleen everything in sight. Jacket, sweater, bed! Yes, I Gleened my bed and you know what? It cleared off more cat hair (and my hair) than I even knew was on there.

I spent a good hour trying to get photos of before and after with my sweater dress and leggings, but it was very hard to see the hairs on them before, so they may be of little use. Thankfully, Gleener's webpage shows a wealth of before and afters, and I highly encourage you guys to go take a look here to see them! It's impressive to say the least.

Below is a photo of the thinner end of Gleener and on the right you see the interchangeable blades. The blade closest to the right, with a solid black strip, feels similar to sand paper, only not as harsh. The white one, in the middle is similar as well, and the other one on the right is

Gleener's different blades work for different fabrics. I've mainly just had to do some experminting to find which works for what.

The blade pictured in my hand, on the left is the heavy duty blade for large fuzzy balls. It works best on wools/synthetic blends.

The blade with a solid black strip is for medium to large fuzzy balls. It works best on 100% synthetics and blends such as acrylics, rayon, polyester, fleece and natural fibers like cotton, cashmere, merino wools.

The blade with a white strip, shown in the middle between blade one and two is made for fine, delicates. This blade is safest on your super delicate fabrics like silk, fine cotton, natural and synthetic blends with elastane, (I have many of those!) viscose/rayon, nylon and spandex.

You know that soft stretchy nylon fabric that's matte rather than shiny and slick? This blade, with the white strip works nice on those!  Sort of like these bike shorts I have?  They get balls on them after a while, as do the Under Armor and other sports wear clothing, the 13 year old has a lot of this type of sports wear, and they're covered in balls. Well, not after Gleener got ahold of em, but they were really bad. It's a shame because a lot of this clothing is expensive! So Gleener is absolutely beyond worth it. We've already been able to save several items from not ever being worn again.  It'll even work on your undies -- yes, I tried it! Oh, and I can't forget the old tucked in a drawer swimsuits with picked bottoms. You know what I'm talking about, ladies? When you sit on concrete in your swimsuit, it picks the bottoms and looks fuzzy. I hate that! I have some really bad ones too, which I use Gleener on -- worked like a dream! It's nice for using on kids' swimsuits too because they're always the worst. Definitely saves you more wear in that department instead of keeping on buying new suits each time the bottoms get fluffy and picked.

Use

Using Gleener is simple. We've already discussed each blade and what fabrics its best for. All you do is run the blade gently over the fabric. One stroke down a garment was all I needed to remove all lint (with the fat end) and all fuzzies. Large, thick sweaters take a few minutes, but there's nothing like Gleener. It's quick, easy and actually... well, I think it's fun! I know, that sounds pathetic, but it really is! Seeing it pick up all that crud.

Gleener didn't come with one of the blades already attached to the thin side. To attach them though, you simply choose the blade you want to use and press down the black button above the blades holder and snap on. Actually, a lot like you would with a razor that has removable blades.

Gleener recommend Gleening in the same direction of the weave. Kind of like shaving again. You know it's recommended to not go against the grain (to avoid ingrown hairs and bumps) so do as you would if you were shaving the recommended way -- with the grain, not against it. I, however, shave against the grain because I like a close shave. Such a rebel I am. Also, I didn't realize it mattered when Gleening, so I was Gleening in every direction like a mad woman. It didn't harm my clothing, but it's important to follow instructions.

The fuzz balls and lint will be picked up instantly and with little effort from you. No pressure or tugging is necessary. You simply lay the garment flat, hold with one hand and gently Gleen with the other. After a good session of Gleening, you may accumulate a lot of fuzzy balls that you'll need to pluck off the blade. No big deal though, it's as easy as plucking the hair from your kitty cat's pet brush. Only there's no bristles for the fuzz balls to get trapped in with Gleener.

And back to the lint brush, the fatter side of the Gleener. Oh it's like heaven to kitty  people like me! I can't tell you how much I wish we'd have discovered Gleener sooner. I've been walking around half my life with a furry wardrobe, really. I have to lint roll my clothing. Gleener is a God-send! It remove every single hair and chunk of lint. I love leaving the house with a black, non-hairy dress! The lint brush side, like I showed a close up photo of before, works on all fabrics to my knowledge.  I've used it on tons of fabrics with fabulous results, it's soft so no harm.  You can even use it on your couch, bed, pillows! Heck, lint roll your cat. Seriously, my cat, ironically her name is Fuzz, she LOVES to be lint-rolled. That is actually how my family started buying those sticky rollers. She hears a new sticky page tear off and comes running. She loves when we brush her with it. It pulls her hairs out and I suppose that feels good to her. So I tried Gleening her! Worked just as good! Except it actually was removing a lot of her shedding hair. A lot!  A heavy duty little tool to have.

Seriously, anybody that owns pets should own a Gleener. And for the price, well, amazing! When I first seen and heard all about Gleener, I told my lovie "I bet that's expensive!" He told me to guess what price I'd say it'd be, and I guessed $40. When we realized it was half that price, I  was surprised and even mentioned buying a couple just as gifts to my family -- we're all cat people who wear fuzz balled sweaters! Honestly, Gleener would really make a fabulous, well appreciated gift to someone, and it wouldn't get tossed into the junk drawer. It's something everybody will definitely use. It may not look like a new laptop for Christmas, but it really is a God-send.

Gleener is my new BFF. Sweater shaver could be described as... a very selfish, back-stabbing friend, whereas Gleener never fails me. Always puts forth effort! Now, you understand just how fabulous this little dude is. I hope anyways.
